Bell & Alice Ann his wife, Benjamin Bradford & Catharine his wife, Jesse Phillips & Mahaley his wife, Sally H. Bell & Margaret Bell of Accomack Co sell to Thomas R. Joynes of Accomack Co, for $180, all their right, title & interest in the estate of John T. Elliott late of N'hamp Co, including their reversion in the land heretofore assigned to Mrs. Juliet Elliott widow of Jno. T. Elliott for her dower, which real estate consists of several plantations and tracts of land in N'hamp Co and several lots in Frank Town in N'hamp Co containing in the whole 1,238 acres more or less, being eighteen-six hundredth (18/600) part of the whole, that is to say the ten-six hundredth (10/600) purchased by George H. & Lorenzo D. Bell from Geodiah Bell the younger, Thos. Bell & George Bell, who were only children of George Bell dec'd who was one of the children of Nancy Bell dec'd, a Paternal Aunt of John T. Elliott, and the remaining eight-six hundredth (8/600) parts of real estate descended to George H., Wm. Biography*He was born at the "Jester Place" in western Hacks Neck and moved to Pungoteague in 1869 and resided there the remainder of his life. He was an expert cabinet and wood worker. In 1894 he made and erected the alter and pulpit of the Methodist Church at Harborton. He also built fast and beautiful bateaus. (For more on him see Hacks Neck and Its People, p. 209.)

Revell commissioners under an order of the county of Accomack in Chancery on the one part, Elizabeth evell, widow of George C. Revell, deceased of the second part and Francis Onley, of the third part, all of the county of Accomack and the state of Virginia, witness that whereas by a decree of the county court of Accomack in Chancery made at the August term past in a suit in which Levin and Thomas Joynes were Plaintiffs and the heirs of George C. Revell, deceased were defendants, the said Seymour, Poulson, and John B. Revell were appointed commissioners for the purpose of selling to the highest bidder the track of land in which the said George Revell, deceased, lately resided, at which sale it was agreed between the said commissioners and the wife Elizabeth Revell that she should convey and relinquish to the purchaser her right of dower in the aforesaid land on her receiving whatever sum of money the County Court of Accomack should decide to be equivalent to her dower, therein and whereas at the sale so as made by the said commissioners. The aforesaid Francis Onley became the purchaser of the aforesaid tract of land at the price of five thousand dollars and whereas by a further decree of said court made at December term in the year 1817, the said court directed that the said Elizabeth Revell should be allowed the sum of two hundred pounds out of the sale of aforesaid land as the value of her dower. Whereas and that the aforesaid commissioners should convey the land aforesaid to the said Francis Onley the purchaser whereof now, therefore the said William Seymour, James Poulson and John B. Revell by virtue of the aforesaid decree of the county court of Accomack and obedient to the directive of the said decree and in consideration of the said Francis Onley having secured to the said Elizabeth Revell the payment of the sum of two hundred pounds for her dower in the aforesaid land, having paid and secured to the said commissioners the sum of thirteen hundred pounds, the balance of the purchase money for the said land. They, the commissioners, have bargained, granted and sold and by these presents do bargain, grant and sell to the said Francis Onley, his heirs, and assigns, forever, all that tract and parcel of land, aforesaid, containing by estimation, two hundred seventy acres, be the same, more or less situated on Onancock in the county aforesaid and being all the land of which George C. Revell, deceased, did seize, together with all the rights, privileges appertaining thereunto belong or in any way appertaining to have and to hold the tract of land aforesaid and the appurtenances to the said Francis Onley and his heirs and assigns forever, to and for the only purpose use benefit and be the said Francis Onley and his heirs and assigns the said Elizabeth Revell on her part and in consideration of the sum of two hundred pounds, having been paid to her, or secured to be paid by same Francis Onley hereby forever relinquishes, grants and conveys to the said Onley his said heirs and assigns, forever all the rights of dower as widow of George C. Revell, dec., of and to the aforesaid tract of land and the appurtenances thereof. In testimony where of the said William Seymour, James Poulson and John B. C., Margaret A., Sarah H., George P., Anne R., Catherine C. and Tabitha S. Scarburgh by George Scarburgh their next friend Complainants vs Margaret West Defendant in chancery. It was ordered that John Addison, John T. Elliott and John C. Mapp divide the slaves Aaron, Betty, Hannah, Nanny, Mary, Esther, Parker, Custis and Eliza in the following manner: To George Scarburgh & ux in right of said wife, to John Leatherbury & ux in right of said wife, to Raymond Riley & ux in right of said wife, to Henry Custis & ux in right of said wife, to Sukey Stott and Margaret West each 1/7 and to Eliza P.
