Birth*between 1770 and 1780Thomas was born between 1770 and 1780 at Accomack Co, VA.2
Will - Father's*3 March 1794Thomas was named in his father's will on 3 March 1794 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as a son Thomas Kellam in the will of Shadrack Kellam.
Whitelaw shows that the 150 acres of tract A42 that Shadrack, wife Leah, left to his son Thomas and he added very materially to his holdings and after his intestate death in 1831 showed 399 acres for the heirs..1
Marriage*19 Jun 1809 (bond)He married Jenny Mears, daughter of Covington Mears and Nancy (205) Roberts, 19 Jun 1809 (bond) at Accomack Co, VA. William Symth was the security on the M.L.B. of Thomas Kellam of Shad and Jane Mears. According to Whitelaw Jenny Mears married Thomas Kellam and the next owner of this tract was their son Custis Kellam, who sold to Charles W. Taylor in 1841. It has since had other owners, including Levin W. Nock and his heirs. Although there is no old house in existance, it was the first home place on the Shore of the numerous Mears clan, and near the site of the original house is a large graveyard containing many tombstones of different owners and their families, but none of the very earlist Mears settlers..3,4

Whitelaw shows that the 150 acres of tract A42 that Shadrack, wife Leah, left to his son Thomas and he added very materially to his holdings and after his intestate death in 1831 showed 399 acres for the heirs. The home and 86 acres went to Charles W. Taylor in right of his wife Melinda. Then in 1844 Taylor devised to his son Charles K. and a daughter Mary Susan, but 11 years later the will was set aside by the court and the property was divided among all of the heirs. The house and 65 acres went to a daughter Mahala Jane Taylor, who may have been a posthumous child as she was not mentioned in her father's will; she later married Lloyd K. Mears and in 1879 they sold to Edward G. Savage. The house at A42A is known as the Mahala Mears Place..5,6
