He died in testate and in 1789 the heir-at-law William and his mother Ann Parker deeded to another son, Michael Parker, beyond which is was not traced.1

Witnesses were Solomon Johnson, Robert Small and Elijah Bird. In order of probate Salathiel Fitchet qualified (Acc Co Wills &c., 1777-80, p. 32). Evidently he volunteered to fight in the Revolutionary War and died by 30 Sep 1777 when his will was probated.

Land sold*18 December 1776Shadrack sold land on 18 December 1776 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Shadrack Fisher sold 45 acres of Whitelaw's tract A135 to Robert Small; no record of his having bought it was found, so he may have married a Brimer daughter. It was sold for 40 lbs and descirbed as a tract on one fork of Muddy Creed Branch, running along Wm. Glasbey's line to Simpson Bloxom's line that said Bloxom had of John Fisher and there to a branch. No wife cosigned. Witnesses Solomon Johnson, Rachel Johnson & Elijah Bird. On 27 May 1777 Shadrack Fisher's deed to Robert Small was proved by the oaths of the witnesses..4,5,6

This was on Craddock Creek between the land later owned by Coward and the Americus Scarburgh land. His title is not clear, but it may be that he was the William named in the 1756 will of William Scarburgh, and that by some agreement he was allowed to keep that part when his brother Edmund had been named heir-at-law to the father in inherit the balance of the land. (Note: It is not obvious why Whitelaw states that title is not clear, because his father William did name his son William and gave him land on Craddock Creek.)5

An audit and settlement of Elizabeth Fisher's account of her guardianship on the estate of Spencer, Bayly and Solomon Fisher was to be returned to the next court in 1756. It is assumed that he would have been under age 21 at this time and his father died in 1743..

In his obituary it is stated that he was born about 1802. This is the obit from the "American Beacon", 10 Sept 1825 in the lower right hand corner of the page: "DIED, yesterday morning, in the 23rd year of his age, after a short illness, of bilious fever, MR. CALEB A. FISHER, Bricklayer, a native of Northampton county (E.S. Va.) and for some time a resident of this Borough, where he was married in January last, and has left a wife to lament a sudden and severe deprivation. The friends and acquaintenances of the deceased are invited to attend his funeral this morning at 11 o'clock, from his late residence on Duke street, adjoining the residence of Rich'd L. Green, Esq'r." As you see he died 8 months after his wedding. His daughter was born 9
months to the day after the wedding. She was Margaret Susan Fisher who was born 2 Oct 1825, Norfolk City. Her mother Mahala Barlow (Cowdrey) Fisher didn't remarry for 6 years and then she married George Washington Topliff (Topiliff), 1 Feb 1832 in the Methodist Church in Norfolk City. As to my son Joseph Wanton Gardiner the third child by my first wife a cripple of 12 years & now on expense in the state of Massachusetts for his education my dying wish is & so agreed and understood by my present beloved wife that the said Joseph's expenses with Capt.
