Land bought*10 April 1865He bought land on 10 April 1865 at Accomack Co, VA. As a result of a court decree of 10 Nov 1864 in a cause between John Rew Junr plantiff & William Andrews & wife defendants in chancery, Alfred E. Matthews, special commissioner sold 36 acres adjoining Thos. S. Hall Sr., James Chesser Sr., Jacob K. Byrd & William Hinman that was seized and possessed by William Andrews & wife. Death*before 28 January 1907Asa died before 28 January 1907 at Harborton, Accomack Co, VA. Among the deaths this week is Captain Asa J. Crockett of Harbornton, aged 85 years. He was for a long time the owner and master of vessels, but retired some years ago, and quietly lived on his farm. Few men were more respected, or more worthy of respect. He was a member of Ocean Lodge of Masons from its organization, and for a generation was the bearer of the Bible in its processions. Three sons, Captain B.F. Crockett of Onancock; Mr. Jno. W. Crockett of Newport News; Mr. Joseph Crockett of Mobile, Ala, and three daughters (not named) survive him..5 
Burial*His body was interred at Crockett Plot, Hacks Neck, Acc Co, VA.1
