Turman's marriages shows it as 10 May 1829 for the bond and another date of 20 May 1816 for the marriage of Henry Custis Sr. and Betsy Fletcher. Since Henry Bagwell Custis died in 1817, Mark Lewis version seems to be a better fit..2,3

Land Division of*8 July 1841He was named in a division of land on 8 July 1841 at Milligan Land, Holdens Creek, Acc Co, VA. In obedience to a decree rendered 22 Feb 1841 in a suit in chancery then pending between Noah G. Duncan & Louisa his wife plantiff vs Peter Corbin & wife et. al. defendants, I have surveyed the land in the proceedings of that cause situated in Acco. Parish near Pocomoke River (called Milligan Land) and ascertained the content to be 248.56 acres. I also laid out 146.802 acres of land and marsh on the wester side of said tract including all the buildings on the said land which is disignated No. 1 on the subjoined plat and which the Commissioners considered to be equal in value to 2/3 of said land assigned to the plantiff Louisa Duncan, wife of Noah G. Duncan for her interest in fee simple. I then divided the remainder of said tract into 3 lots designated on the subjoined plat No. 2, No. 3 & No. 4. No. 2 containing 32.278 acres of land & marsh was assigned to Jacob Cullen & wife in right of said wife. No. 3 containing 31.997 acres of land was assigned to Peter Corbin & wife in right of said wife. No. 4 containing 47.483 acres of land was assigned to John & Spencer Fletcher (orphans of Spencer). I then laid our the dower on the Three several lots marked with the dotted line the subjoined plat which was assigned to the said Louisa Duncan for her dower in. Signed Geo. M. Land Division of*8 July 1841He was named in a division of land on 8 July 1841 at Milligan Land, Holdens Creek, Acc Co, VA. In obedience to a decree rendered 22 Feb 1841 in a suit in chancery then pending between Noah G. Duncan & Louisa his wife plantiff vs Peter Corbin & wife et. al. defendants, I have surveyed the land in the proceedings of that cause situated in Acco. Parish near Pocomoke River (called Milligan Land) and ascertained the content to be 248.56 acres. I also laid out 146.802 acres of land and marsh on the wester side of said tract including all the buildings on the said land which is disignated No. 1 on the subjoined plat and which the Commissioners considered to be equal in value to 2/3 of said land assigned to the plantiff Louisa Duncan, wife of Noah G. Duncan for her interest in fee simple. I then divided the remainder of said tract into 3 lots designated on the subjoined plat No. 2, No. 3 & No. 4. No. 2 containing 32.278 acres of land & marsh was assigned to Jacob Cullen & wife in right of said wife. No. 3 containing 31.997 acres of land was assigned to Peter Corbin & wife in right of said wife. No. 4 containing 47.483 acres of land was assigned to John & Spencer Fletcher (orphans of Spencer). I then laid our the dower on the Three several lots marked with the dotted line the subjoined plat which was assigned to the said Louisa Duncan for her dower in. Signed Geo. M. His tombstone shows he died 28 Aug 1915 and was the son of Dr. Spencer and T.M. Fletcher..2

They are the sons of John T. and Sarah Dickerson Fletcher, born at the Fletcher homestead at Messongo. Their mother died when they were infants. Douglas came to Onancock and married Miss Susie Parker, daughter of the late J.W.H. Parker. Mrs. Fletcher died in 1898, there were no children of this union. Thomas also later came to Onancock and married Miss Eliza Drummond of Norfolk, who is still living. They had four children, Edgar D., M.L., Rev. Custis, and Cecil C. Fletcher (E.S. News, 11 Feb 1927).

Biography*Thomas E. and Douglas D. Fletcher, possibly the Shore's oldest twins now living are aged 80 years. They are the sons of John T. and Sarah Dickerson Fletcher, born at the Fletcher homestead at Messongo. Their mother died when they were infants. Douglas came to Onancock and married Miss Susie Parker, daughter of the late J.W.H. Parker. Mrs. Fletcher died in 1898, there were no children of this union. Thomas also later came to Onancock and married Miss Eliza Drummond of Norfolk, who is still living. They had four children, Edgar D., M.L., Rev. Custis, and Cecil C. Fletcher (E.S. News, 11 Feb 1927).

Bayly Browne, of Accomac, Va, was killed in a mill accident near Tacoma, Washington, Friday, November 24th. The particulars are not available as the only information received here so far came by telegram. His body had not arrived here Thursday afternoon but was expected here by Thursday night. He is survived by his mother, one sister, Mrs. James Turlington of Accomac and a brother, Major Beverly F. Browne.4

Drummond of Cape Charles (E.S. News, 13 Nov 1931). Miss Julia Wallop Fletcher was born and reared in the northern part of this county (Acc) and about 30 years went to Tacoma, Washington with her sister, Miss Florence Fletcher, to live with their brother, Judge John Drummond Fletcher. She identified herself with the life of Tacoma, was a charter member of the Dixie Chapter of Daughters of the Confederacy of Tacoma and also State President of the organization. She was an active member of Christs Church, where her interest and help will be greatly missed. Her remains will be brought here and interment will be in the family burying ground on Holden's Creek, near Jenkins Bridge, at 3:00 o'clock, Saturday afternoon, 14 Nov (obituary, unknown newspaper)..2

Biography*William T. Fletcher of Tacoma, WA, died Wednesday. His remains were brought to Jenkins Bridge, were his funeral is expected to be Monday. Aged 77 years, his was the brother of the late Judge James H. Fletcher, Dr. Frank Fletcher and Judge Drummond Fletcher. Survivors included 4 sisters, but a surviving widow, 3 daughters and 3 sons were not named (E.S. News, 17 May 1940). The 3 surviving daughters and 3 surviving sons were listed (E.S. News, 24 May 1940).

Dr. Donald Frank Fletcher Jr., 78, husband of the late Virginia Richards Fletcher who died in 1992 and a resident of Atlantic, died at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, MD on Wednesday 3 Jul 1996. Born in Horsey he was the son of the late Donald Frank Fletcher Sr. and Elodie Jones Fletcher. He was a general practioner serving his community for 35 years from 1952 until his retirement in 1987. Prior to that he served in the US Navy, stationed in the South Pacfic during WWII and remained in the Naval Reserves until his retirement in 1975 as a captain. He was on the School Board of Accomack County from 1954-1983 and served as chairman from 1970-1981. He was also the former medical examiner for Accomack County for many years. He is survived by 2 sons Charles Richards Fletcher of Birmingham, AL and Richard Ashton Fletcher of San Diego, CA, one daughter Susan Madison of Pocomoke City, MD; 2 grandchildren, Donald Fletcher IV of Wallops Island and Russell Curtis Fletcher of San Diego; a brother Robley Jones Fletcher of Horsey; 2 nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by a son Donald Frank Fletcher III who died in 1993..
