Anecdotebetween 1800 and 1801 Stephen Fletcher of Hog Island was on the mainland during Thomas Smith's revival of 1800-1801, and he brought Smith home with him to the island, where yet another revival occurred. The Hog Island society was apparently seldom visited by the circuit preachers after Thomas Smith's pastorate, but strong local leaders arose, and one of them, Isma Fletcher, became an exhorter. The circuit held a camp meeting on the island in 1821. By 1835 the society had dwindled to three persons, two of whom were Isma Fletcher and his wife.4
Anecdote*1802 Stephen and Susey Fletcher were "allowed as witnesses."1
