First I give and bequeath to my son Revel one negro woman called Line and her child Alsey, one boy called Samuel, also one hundred and fifty dollars cash - to him and his heirs for ever. Item, I give and bequeath to my son John Pusey one bed and furnature one negro woman called Nelly to him & his heirs for ever. Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Tilghman, one negro boy called George also one girl called Eliza on negro girl called Mary one walnut chest one book case, one bed and fernature independant of one left her by her aunt Betsy Coulburn now in my possession, and twenty dollars cash to her and her heirs for ever. Tho. Robertson Jr to be equally divided between John Pusey and Aaron Coulburn to them & their heirs for ever. Item I leave the remainder of my personal estate to be equally divided between my three children, Revell, Betsey Tilghman and Aaron Coulburn to them and their heirs forever. She was the daughter of John Coulbourn b. 1787, d. 1821 and Elizabeth 'Betsy' Coulbourn, daughter of Aaron and Sally Curtis Coulbourn. Sally's father, John Coulbourn, was a boat builder and a coasting captain of schooners. He was lost at sea in 1821. Sally and her older sisters were under the age of four at the time he was drowned. Legend has it that their mother kept a candle burning in her window for him the remaining years of her life, fifty-one years. Sally's mother, Elizabeth Coulbourn, was buried at Pomfret alongside her brother, James Curtis Coulbourn. Source: 34 Families by Woodrow T. Wilson.3
