Death*29 November 1796Maj. Daniel Jenifer Adams died on 29 November 1796 at Wilmington, New Castle Co, DE. Daniel Jenifer Adams is the son of Josiah and Ann Marie Jenifer Adams. Daniel was a brilliant and dashing officer in the War of the Revolution. He was a Major of the 7th regiment of the Maryland Line Continental Army. In arrangment of field officers of the "Maryland Line" as settled by the board of General Officers of Camp Middlebrook April 13, 1779. Major Daniel Jenifer Adams is recorded as ranking fourth in list of Majors. His commission to be dated April 10, 1777. He was sheriff of his county, a prominent Merchant owner of several thousand acres of land in Maryland and Virginia. He was named as administrator in his fathers will. Information taken from application for Sons of the American Revolution by William Bibb, Jr. Daniel married Nancy Hanson on June 20, 1779 in Wilmington, New Castle, Delaware, they had seven known children: Daniel Jenifer Adams, Jr., Timothy Adams, Josias Hanson Adams, Susan Hanson Adams, Thomas B. Adams, Alexander Adams and Thomas Jenifer Adams.2 
Burial*Daniel was buried at Old Swedes Churchyard, Wilmington, New Castle Co, DE.2

In the 1880 U.S. Census, Catharine was living in Washington, DC, with the family of her niece, Jennie (Davis) Garrison (22 Feb 1843 - 25 Aug 1928). "On Saturday, July 12, 1884, at 9 p.m., Miss Catharine Davis, aged 84 years. Funeral from the 9th street Presbyterian church, today (the 14th instant) at 4 o'clock p.m. Friends and acquaintances invited to attend." Catharine Davis was single at the time of her death.1,5

Land deed named in*6 March 1750He was named in a deed on 6 March 1750 at tract Lanes Discovery, Atkinsons District, Worcester Co, MD.
