Birth*1745John (of Edwd II) Turner was born in 1745 at Northampton Co, VA.2
Will - Father's*23 November 1753John was named in his father's will on 23 November 1753 at Northampton Co, VA. In his will Edward Turner, planter, gave to my son John (under 21) 340 A., formerly John Eshon's land (tract N122), adjoining the Otter Dam Branch. To my son Edward (under lawful age) the 125 A. plantation whereon I now live. To son Samuel (under lawful age) my 218 A. plantation in Accomack Co. which I bought of John Johnson lying near Miers's Branch. To my dau. Sophia Turner (under 18) n. girl Nanny. To my dau. Sarah Turner (under 18) three heifers and six ewes. To my nephew Joshua Turner a horse colt named "Toppin". My horse called "Buck" to be sold. My son William who is deaf and dumb to be maintained by his mother on the profits of the estate during her life, and then William to be supported by his three brothers. To loving wife Sarah the use of my three plantations during her widowhood, and then estate to be div. by all my children (William excepted). In case my wife should marry, my will and desire is that she should keep my children until they are of age to pick their guardians. Friends Thomas Preeson, Thomas James and George Turner to act as trustees. Wife and (Col.) Littleton Eyre extrs. Witt: Thomas Preeson, Thomas James, George Turner.1
Land inherited*1754He inherited land in 1754 at tract N122, west of Exmore, Northampton Co, VA. In 1734 Daniel Eshon Jr. and his wife Jane sold the 100 acres left him by his father Daniel to Arthur Mackallan of Accomack County. Nothing more was found about Arthur Mackallan of Accomack Co. Then in 1754 Edward Turner (wife Sarah) left to ihs son John a 340-acre plantation which he said he had formerly belonged to John Eshon. Judging from descriptions in later transactions for this land it appears to have comprised the 300 acres of the Rodolphus patent and 40 aces more, either found within the bounds or taken from an adjacent tract. There was no local deed to Turner for any part of it, so that he may have acquired part or all by marriage or General Court deeds. The son John Turner later died intestate and was succeeded by a son Teackle Turner and in 1791 he and his wife Nancy exchanged the western 112 acres next to the Bull part of N121 with Revel Turner for 112 acres in the southeast corner of N123. In 1798 Revel Turner left this piece to his son Edward, beyond which is was not traced.3
Guardian - chose*November 1759He chose a guardian on in November 1759 at Northampton Co, VA. Jno Turner, orphan of Edwd Turner, age 14 chose a guardian.2
Marriage*circa 1765He married Patience (-----) (Teackle?) circa 1765 at Northampton Co, VA.3
Witness paid to be*30 September 1778John was paid for being a witness on 30 September 1778 at Accomack Co, VA. John Turner swore he had traveled 20 miles from Northampton to this court and had attended twelve days as a witness for William Selby, who was sued by the justices of this county. Ordered that Selby pay him according to law [25 lbs tobacco per day plus additional tobacco for travel].4
Death*before 14 November 1780He died before 14 November 1780 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of John Turner was granted to Edward Turner. Appraisers: Thomas Addison, James Sandefert, William White & John Darby.5

Land deeded from*1774He deeded land in 1774 at tract N109, north side of entrance to Nassawadox Creek, Northampton Co, VA. There is evidently an error in Whitelaw as he shows in 1774 Edward Turner & his wife Margaret deeded to their son Samuel Turner 200 ac of this tract. (NOTE: Edward Turner II, wife Sarah, died in 1754, so evidently this is Edward Turner III, and his wife Margaret, deeding the land to his brother Samuel.)5
