Will - Grfath's*28 November 1822Rosina was named in her grandfather's will on 28 November 1822 at Northampton Co, VA. In his will John Winder Senr gave to my son Levin Y. Winder, land whereon I now live, lying to the eastward of a line commencing at a small cedar bush on the north of the dwelling house under the bank near the water mark and running thence a straight course in a southerly direction to a small mulberry tree thence due south to the edge of the field over the branch, thence easterly along the edge of the said field so far as that a straight line from Peter Bowdoin's outer gate shall cut off to the eastward of the said tract two hundred and fifty acres including twenty five acres heretofore conveyed by me to my said son Levin Y. Winder. All the balance of said tract of land lying to the westward of the line here in before described, I give to my son John H. Winder, for and during the term of his natural life with remainder over to my granddaughters; Lauretta, Charlotte, Susan and Rosina Winder. To my daughter Mary H. Winder six hundred dollars. All the rest of my estate I give to my daughter Mary and my sons, George, Samuel and Nathaniel. My son Nathaniel J. Winder executor. Signed, Jno Winder. Witnesses: Harriet B. I give Doctor John Ker one hundred dollars should there be any part of my estate undisposed of by this my will I give the same to Doctor John Ker. Marriage*1 October 1802He married Harriet Handy, daughter of Col. Levin Handy (Upper Ferry) and Jane Geddes, on 1 October 1802 at Somerset Co, MD. They had 7 children. Only 3 survived their infancy: Elizabeth, Van and Caroline. Elizabeth died at age 14 & was buried where she died at "Yeardley", the old Winder homestead on the Eastern Shore of Va. Col. Van Perkins died at the age of 46 at his plantation "Ducros" in Terrebonne Parish, La and Caroline Lucretia was the wife of the Hon. Georg S. Guion of Concordia and died Dec 1855, leaving several children at "Ridgefield" the old family seat in Concordia.3 
Death*19 December 1818Dr. Thomas Jones Winder died on 19 December 1818 at Concordia Parish, Louisianna, at age 46.3 
Burial*Thomas was buried at Natchez City Cemetery, Natchez, Adams Co, Mississippi.2
