Perhaps the elder Daniel died and they named a younger son Daniel.1 
Will - Aunt's*15 January 1810Daniel was named in his aunt's will on 15 January 1810 at Northampton Co, VA. In her will Polly Underhill gave to James M. Roberts my Negro called Ben and to William B. Roberts I give my Negro man called Adam. To Mary Underhill I give my Negro Isaac to Sally M. Roberts I give my Negro girl called Hannah, to Michael Underhill I give my Negro girl called Sarah and to Daniel Underhill I give two Negro Girls namely Elcaney and Ader.
