Obituary - Mother's*6 January 1923George Frank Russell was named in his mother's obituary on 6 January 1923 at Cape Charles, Northampton Co, VA. The community of Exmore was greatly shocked on Saturday evening, December 23, when it learned of the sudden death of Mrs. Ellen Russell, widow of the late Capt. John Russell. Mrs. Russell was in the 83rd year of her life and lived with her daughter, Mrs. Annie Hornsby, of Exmore. Words cannot express the high esteem in which Mrs. Russell was held, for she was loved by everyone who knew her. The funeral services were held at her late home Monday, December 25, at eleven o'clock. Interment was in the family burying ground at Belle Haven beside her late husband, who died three years ago, December 1st. Those surviving Mrs. Russell are one daughter, Mrs. Annie Hornsby, Exmore, one son, Mr. George Russell, of Cape Charles, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two nephews and one niece and a host of friends are left to mourn their loss. The floral tributes were many and beautiful.4 
Death*21 January 1955He died on 21 January 1955 at Hampton, Elizabeth City Co, VA, at age 82. He was shown as George Frank Russell, born 18 May 1872, died 21 Jan 1955 at Hampton, VA, the son of John Russell & Hannah Bull and the husband of Edna E. Russell.1

Young, died Monday, August 9th, at her home at Exmore, aged 76 years. She was one of the oldest members of Epworth Church, being a member there all her life. She is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. James H. Ashby and Miss Eliza Young, 2 sons, Messrs. Severn Young and J. Morris Young, 1 grandson, George Willis Young, 1 sister, Mrs. J.L. Humpreys, and 1 brother, Mr. George N Guy of Smithfield.1

I give and devise unto my daughter Margaret S. Causey, the three houses and lots situated in the Village of Lee Mont, and lying between the residence of Mr. A.J. McCready. I also give and devise unto the said Margaret S. Causey the sum of twelve hundred dollars ($1200.00) FOURTH. I give and devise unto my son Sylvanius W. Parkes, shall have the privilege of selecting some person to execute said trust, and such selected person, shall hold the above named property, in trust for the purposes and under the conditions, herein set forth. In case the said Mary A. Parkes shall depart this life without leaving lawful issue, the I desire that my son Edward T. Parkes shall have the house and lot that I bought of Louis F. Hinman forever, and that my son George P. Parkes, shall have the house and lot that I bought of Allie T. White and that my daughter Margaret S. At a court held for the Courty of Accomack on the 30th day of May 1898, This last will and testament of Parker W. Parkes, deceased, was proved by the oath of Andrew J. McCready, a witness thereto, who made oath that the said Parker W. Parks in the presence of William T. Parkes another subscribing witness thereto, who being present at the same time subscribed the said will in the presence of the said testator; whereupon the said will is order to the recorded. And thereupon, George P. Parkes, one the executors in the said will named appeared in Court and relinquished his right to qualify. And thereupon on the motion of Edward T. Parkes, the remaining Executor in the said will named, taking oath and giving bond according to law in the penalty of twelve thousand dollars ($12,000.00), with Joseph Moore, George P. Parkes and Sylvanius W. Parkes sureties therein, who justified their sufficiency on oath. Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate of the said will in due form. And the said bond having been acknowledged by the several obligors therein, it is ordered that the same be recorded.

At a court held for the Courty of Accomack on the 30th day of May 1898, This last will and testament of Parker W. Parkes, deceased, was proved by the oath of Andrew J. McCready, a witness thereto, who made oath that the said Parker W. Parks in the presence of William T. Parkes another subscribing witness thereto, who being present at the same time subscribed the said will in the presence of the said testator; whereupon the said will is order to the recorded. And thereupon, George P. Parkes, one the executors in the said will named appeared in Court and relinquished his right to qualify. And thereupon on the motion of Edward T. Parkes, the remaining Executor in the said will named, taking oath and giving bond according to law in the penalty of twelve thousand dollars ($12,000.00), with Joseph Moore, George P. Parkes and Sylvanius W. Parkes sureties therein, who justified their sufficiency on oath. Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate of the said will in due form. And the said bond having been acknowledged by the several obligors therein, it is ordered that the same be recorded.
