The Extrs of William Willet, his sons-in-law, Thomas and James Goffigan and Thomas Hunt, show that the grandchildren in the custody of Alderton & Frances Gelding, are William, Hillary and Douglas Willet. The testator by his will gave to his daughter-in-law, Frances Gelding the benefit of 600 acres of land until the children came of age provided that she teach them to read, write and cypher. If she did not then the land was to go to the petitioners, who were to teach the children. The Extrs ask for the 600 acres. Petition rejected.1

When Dr. Nottingham moved to Louisianna sons Leonard and Thomas Henry Hunt returned to Northampton Co, VA, and upon their deaths they were buried at the Sallie Jarvis Bell home place.3

Anecdote* According to Henry Hunt Jr., upon the death of her husband John Goffigon Hunt, Mary Nottingham Hunt, moved to Macon, GA to live with her brother Dr. Custis Bell Nottingham and brought her children Mary Bell Hunt, Lucy Hunt, Martha Hunt, Obediah Leonard Hunt and Thomas Henry Hunt with her. When Dr. Nottingham moved to Louisianna sons Leonard and Thomas Henry Hunt returned to Northampton Co, VA, and upon their deaths they were buried at the Sallie Jarvis Bell home place.1

He died in the year 1826, intestate, leaving your orator Benjamin N. Scott and your oratrix Elizabeth N. Scott his only son and daughter and John T. P. Scott a grandson, the son of John N. Scott deceased who was a son of the said Benjamin Scott Senior. John T. P. Scott is an infant under the age of 21 years. Peter S. Bowdoin was appointed to be his guardian. The Court appointed John K. Floyd, James Saunders, Peter S. Bowdoin and George F. Wilkins to divide the land.2

Will - Father's*23 February 1842Robert was named in his father's will on 23 February 1842 at Northampton Co, VA. In his will William M. Wyatt gave his estate to wife after paying my just debts to bring up and support my three children; Ellonor, Eveline and Robert Wyatt in the best manner her circumstances can afford and at my wife's death whatever she may leave to be equally divided among my children that may survive her. It is my desire that the Court of Northampton should not require her to give security on her administration. Signed, William M. Wyatt. Witnesses: Jno Simpkins, Willi Sturgis, Edw J. Richardson and Edw C. (his mark) Savage.2
