     In his will, signed 4 Dec 1905, Henry P. Byrd of Mears, Acc Co, named a brother Major P. Byrd. The executor was Major J. Byrd. Witnesses were W.W. Kerns, M.D. and A.W. Short (Acc Co Wills, 1904-20, p. 97). Henry was born on 17 July 1855 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.³ Henry was living in 1905 at Mears, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Henry died on 5 February 1907 at age 51.² His body was interred at Byrd Cem, Mearsville, Acc Co, VA.² Henry's will was probated on 13 February 1907 at Accomack Co, VA.⁴

     Staton was employed at as a Sailor/Captain. Staten F. Byrd was made postmaster of Cattail Post Office on 3 Jul 1893. He was postmaster there in 1899, when the name was changed to Poulson. His second wife Polly (Poulson) Byrd became postmistress at Poulson on 5 Sep 1922 (Acc Loose Papers, Roll 130). Staton was born on 19 November 1857 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.³ He married Clara J. Lucas, daughter of Samuel J. Lucas and Tabitha A. White, on 27 December 1882 at Accomack Co, VA.⁴ He married Polly D. Poulson, daughter of Marion Jasper Poulson and Sarah Trader, on 28 September 1898 at Accomack Co, VA.⁵ Staton was living in 1940 at Poulson, Acc Co, VA.¹ Staton died on 7 September 1941 at age 83.⁶ His body was interred at Byrd Plot, Mearsville, Acc Co, VA.⁶

     Clara was born on 27 June 1863 at Accomack Co, VA.² She married Staton Franklin Byrd, son of Parker Byrd and Mary Ann Trader, on 27 December 1882 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Clara died on 8 July 1897 at age 34.² Her body was interred at Byrd Plot, Mearsville, Acc Co, VA.²

     Samuel was born on 15 June 1887 at Accomack Co, VA.¹

     Elana was born on 26 August 1890 at Accomack Co, VA.

     Mr. Jefferson Byrd of Mears died on 6 Jun 1935, aged 73 years, survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 15 Jun 1935). Jefferson was born on 4 April 1861 at Accomack Co, VA.² He married Lizzie J. Smith, daughter of James T. Smith Sr. and Sarah Frances 'Sally' McCready, circa 1880.³ He married Luzie T. Trader, daughter of Thomas Franklin Trader and Demeria C. Byrd, on 12 February 1899 at Mappsville, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Jefferson was living in 1921.¹ Jefferson died on 6 June 1935 at Mears, Acc Co, VA, at age 74.⁵ His body was interred at Byrd Cem, Whites Crossing Rd, Mearsville, Acc Co, VA.²

     Erastus was born circa 1852 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.² He married Triphenia Janie Bonnewell, daughter of George Parker Bonnewell and Margaret Anna Linton, on 21 May 1873 at Messongo, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Erastus Seymour Smith, a 21 year old oysterman, the son of Jas & Sally Smith and she was shown as Trephenia J. Bonnewell, age 20, the daughter of Geo. P. & Marg't Ann Bonnewell. They were married near Messongo by J.E. Bundick..¹

     Lizzie was born on 30 July 1861 at Messongo, Acc Co, VA.^2,3 She married Jefferson Davis Byrd, son of Parker Byrd and Mary Ann Trader, circa 1880.¹ Lizzie died on 23 March 1898 at age 36.^4,3 Her body was interred at Byrd Cem, Whites Crossing Rd, Mearsville, Acc Co, VA.³

     Royal was born on 31 March 1882 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Narcissa E. Bloxom, daughter of Martin Major Bloxom and Susan Amanda Killmon, on 22 December 1902 at Mearsville, Acc Co, VA. Mr. Royal P. Byrd and Miss Narcissa E. Bloxom were married 22 Dec 1901 near Mearsville by Rev. Charles Clement (Pen. Ent., 4 Jan 1902)..² Royal died in 1973.³ His body was interred at Groton's Cem, Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.³

     Narcissa was born in 1882 at Accomack Co, VA.² She married Royal P. Byrd, son of Jefferson Davis Byrd and Lizzie J. Smith, on 22 December 1902 at Mearsville, Acc Co, VA. Mr. Royal P. Byrd and Miss Narcissa E. Bloxom were married 22 Dec 1901 near Mearsville by Rev. Charles Clement (Pen. Ent., 4 Jan 1902)..³ Narcissa was living in 1942 at Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Narcissa died in 1967.² Her body was interred at Groton's Cem, Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.²

     Levin was employed at as a Merchant. Levin J. Byrd, aged 75 years and a merchant of Mearsville, died on 13 Nov 1940. Services were at Bethel Baptist Church by Rev. N.R. Greene, with interment in Parksley Cemetery. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors included a wife and a brother, both of who were named (E.S. News, 22 Nov 1940). Levin was born on 26 December 1864 at Accomack Co, VA.² He married Anna 'Annie' Chase, daughter of Alsavador Chase and Sallie Ann Davis, on 3 August 1887 at Mappsville, Acc Co, VA.³ He married Ella D. (-----) circa 1890.² Levin was living in 1921 at Baltimore, MD.¹ He married Elizabeth Jane Young, daughter of Benjamin F. Young and Elizabeth 'Betsy' Northam, after 1922. Levin died on 13 November 1940 at age 75.² His body was interred at Parksley Cem, Acc Co, VA.²

     In his will, signed 8 Jan 1913, Major J. Byrd of Mearsville, Acc Co, named a wife Jane Byrd; 5 brothers: A.W., J.D., Teackle L., Staton F., and Levin J. Byrd; a nephew Roy P. Byrd; and a cousin Margaret F. Trader. He bound Jane, Teackle L. and Levin J. Byrd to keep his slave, Sarah Dowing (col) of Metomkin, VA comfortable during life and at death a decent burial and never let her die in the home of the indigent. Executors were Jane Byrd and Teackle L. Byrd. Witnesses were John T. Lewis and Nathaniel F. Taylor. At probate both Jane and Teackle relinquished their right to probate to Staton F. Byrd. Sureties on the bond for probate were D. Frank White and Roy D. White (Acc Co Wills, 1920-28, p. 36). Conflicting evidence states that Major was born on 3 August 1867 at Mearsville, Acc Co, VA.² Major was born on 31 August 1867 at Accomack Co, VA.³ He married Jane (-----) circa 1890. Major died on 3 July 1921 at Mearsville, Acc Co, VA, at age 53.⁴ His body was interred at Byrd Cem, Mearsville, Acc Co, VA.² Major's will was probated on 9 July 1921 at Accomack Co, VA.⁵

     Edward was born circa 1815 at Accomack Co, VA.² He married Sarah S. Underhill, daughter of Thomas A. Underhill and Sallie (-----), circa 1837.³ Edward was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1850 at St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Edward D. Trader the head of HH#1131, a 35 year old cabnet maker. Listed with him were the following Traders: Sarah S., age 39; Edw'd T., age 10; and Sally A., age 5. Also listed was Henry C. White Jr., a 19 year old cabnet maker..²

As of circa 1783,her married name was Duncan.² She married Eli Duncan, son of James Duncan Sr. and Sarah Mears, circa 1783.² Mary was named in her grandfather's will on 6 April 1799 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as Mary Duncan in the will of William Conquest Sr.³ Mary was named in her brother's will on 21 September 1807 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as my sister Mary Duncan in the will of Nathaniel Conquest.¹ She married Archibald (92) Trader Sr., son of Littleton (60) Armey Trader (of upper Acc Co) and Ann (-----), circa 1810.⁴ As of circa 1810,her married name was Trader.⁴ Mary was named in her husband's will on 18 February 1821 at Accomack Co, VA.      Teackle was born circa 1795 at Accomack Co, VA. He married Elizabeth R. Houston on 28 February 1818 at Worcester Co, MD.² Teackle was named in his father's will on 18 February 1821 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as a son Teackle Trader in the will of Archibald Trader..¹ Teackle sold land in 1822 at Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Teackle Trader sold 45 acres, of the 70 acres that he inherited from his father, to his brother Littleton Trader.. Teackle died in 1830 at Maryland.

     He was shown as Wm. Rew of J. in the 1850 HH#1076 and John Rew Sr. was only two doors away in HH#1074. William was born circa 1824 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Emaline Trader, daughter of Teackle Trader and Nancy Townsend, on 20 December 1849 at Accomack Co, VA. There are two marriage records in Turman's book for an Emeline Trader of Teackle: one to William Rew between 1847-1850 (no specific date) and one to William Ross, dated 20 Dec 1849, where William S. Burton was the security on the M.L.B. Since the 1850 Acc Co census shows only a William Rew, age 26 and Emeline Rew, age 20 in HH#1076 and no William Ross and Emeline are listed, it is assumed that she married William Rew, not Ross..² William was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.
