     Elizabeth was born circa 1650 at Somerset Co, MD. She married Samuel Long, son of Henry Long, on 22 February 1694 at Somerset Co, MD.^2,3

     Jeffrey was born in 1621 at England. He deposed on 9 Apr 1655 that he was aged 34 or thereabouts and on 28 Jun 1655 that he was aged 30..² He married Frances (3) Carsley, daughter of Henry (1) Carsley and Elizabeth Berryman, on 18 May 1650 at Northampton Co, VA.³ Jeffrey was living in October 1651 at Northampton Co, VA.⁴ According to Torrence, Jeffrey Minshall (d. 1675), of Northampton Co, VA, and Somerset Co, MD, no doubt derived descent from the Minshull, or Minshall, family of Cheshire and Devonshire, England, though as yet the connection has not been worked out and proved. The Visitation of Devonshire, 1620 (Harlein Soc. Pubs., VI, p. 184) gives a Minshull pedigree in which the names "Jefferie" and "Geoffrey" and "Randall" appear. The first edition of "The Boston Family of Maryland" by Matthew M. Wise, indicated that Jeffery was the son of a Richard Minshall and was baptised at Wistaston, County Chester, England, 26 Mar 1621. However, in Wise's second edition, he indicated that was a different Jeffery Minshall and that the pedigree of this Jeffery Minshall is still in question. He came to Virginia before 1645, when he was mentioned in a Northampton Co court record, and by 17 Sep 1666, with his wife and five children, had immigrated to Maryland where, on that date, he was assigned 400 acres called "Adventure," lying at the head of Marumsco Creek in Somerset Co. "Jeffry Mentiale" (Jeffery Minshall, Sr.) entered rights for land in Somerset Co, MD, 12 Apr 1666, viz: Jeffrey and Frances (evidently himself and his wife), Mary, Anne and Jane, his daughters; Jeffrey and Randall, his sons; and Wm. Collett, his servant. Jeffry Mentiale patented (on these rights) 400 acres of land at the head of Morummsco Branch. Jeffrey was named in a deed in on 12 April 1666 at Somerset Co, MD.⁴ Jeffrey died on 8 April 1675 at Marumsco Section, Som Co, MD.⁴ His body was interred at Marumsco Section, Som Co, MD.⁵

     Frances was born circa 1624 at Northampton Co, VA.² Frances Carsley was called a minor in her grandmother Alice (-----) (Berriman) Wilson's will of 1640. Her marriage contract to Jeffrey Menshall, dated 18 May 1650, was drawn by her uncle Thomas Johnson, apparently her guardian (N'hamp Co Deeds, Wills, etc, 1651-1654, f. 48). A judgment was acknowledged, 28 Oct 1651, by Jeffrey Minshall to Thomas Johnson, Gent., "on the behalfe of Frances Carsley, orphant, nowe the wife of sd Jeffrey Minshall." She married Jeffrey Minshall Sr., son of Richard Minshall and Ellen Goldsmith, on 18 May 1650 at Northampton Co, VA.³ Frances was living after 1666 at Marumsco, Som Co, MD. Frances died after 1679 at Somerset Co, MD.

     Mary was born circa 1651 at Northampton Co, VA.² She married Thomas Tull Sr., son of Gyles Tull and Avis White, in October 1666 at Somerset Co, MD.¹ Mary died circa 1685.³

     Anne was born circa 1666 at Somerset Co, MD.³ She married John Moore on 23 October 1685 at Coventry Parish, Som Co, MD. Anne was named in her husband's will on 31 December 1716 at Somerset Co, MD. She was shown as wife Ann in the will of John Moor Sr.⁴

     Jeffrey was born circa 1658 at Northampton Co, VA. He married Hellena 'Elinor' Conner, daughter of Philip Conner Sr., circa 1680 at Somerset Co, MD.² Jeffrey died after 27 January 1702.²

     Randolph was born circa 1660 at Northampton Co, VA. He married Alice Dixon, daughter of Ambrose Dixon (Quaker) and Mary Wilson (widow Peddenton), after 7 April 1686 at Somerset Co, MD.^3,4,5 Randolph (7) Minshall (Mitchell) sold land on 21 July 1698 at Chance, Somerset Co, MD. It was on this date that Randall Mitchell & his wife Alice sold to John Moore, "Chance" being part of "Mitchell's Lott" for 150 acres (Somerset Co Deeds: L#1:480).⁶ Randolph died after 7 March 1719 at Somerset Co, MD. It was on this date that Randolph Mitchell conveyed 150 acres of "Mitchell's Lot" to the vestry of Coventry Parish and probably about 1730 when last taxed in Somerset Co, MD..²

     Thomas was born between 1639 and May 1643 at Midgham, Berkshire, England.¹ He married Mary (4) Minshall, daughter of Jeffrey Minshall Sr. and Frances (3) Carsley, in October 1666 at Somerset Co, MD.² He married Ann (-----) circa 1688 at Somerset Co, MD.³ He married Katherine (-----) circa 1719.³ Thomas died before 28 June 1720 at Somerset Co, MD.³

     Alice was born on 27 December 1668 at Somerset Co, MD.^1,2 She married John White circa 1690 at Somerset Co, MD.² Alice was living on 26 May 1729 at Somerset Co, MD. It was on this date that Alice signed the inventory of her brother Thomas Mitchell as next of kin..²

     Elizabeth was born on 28 December 1668 at Somerset Co, MD.¹

     Thomas was born on 18 August 1672 at Somerset Co, MD.^1,2 He married Ann Coleburn, daughter of Capt. William Coleburn II and Ann Revell, circa 1705. Thomas died before 26 May 1729 at Somerset Co, MD.²

     Samuel was born on 3 October 1669 at Marumsco Section, Som Co, MD.^1,2 Samuel died in May 1673 at Marumsco, Som Co, MD, at age 3.^1,2

     Daniel was born on 8 January 1674 at Marumsco, Som Co, MD. Daniel died at infancy.

     John was born on 1 January 1675 at Marumsco, Som Co, MD.² He married Ann Taylor, daughter of John Taylor and Anne Coleburn, circa 1700.² John died before 16 June 1718 at Somerset Co, MD.²

     Benjamin was born circa 1752 at Somerset Co, MD. Benjamin served in the Revolutionary War in in 1775. He was shown as Benjamin Marshall, Master-at-Arms in the state navy of Virginia in the Rev. War. Somerset Co. MD Orphans Court record from 30 November 1836 shows Benjamin & John Marshall left two brothers and two sisters only viz: George Marshall, Adrian Marshall, Ellis Marshall and Elizabeth Marshall, all of whom are dead, having left children and descendants of children, who are the only heirs at law of the said Benjamin Marshall and John Marshall. (NOTE: The named descendants are shown under the records of the 2 brothers and 2 sisters.)

Pansy Martin Bull, 77, wife of the late Edward Parks Bull, and a resident of Parksley, died at her home on Sunday, 28 May 1995. Born at Saxis, she was the daughter of the late Dorsey and Meadie Linton Martin. She and her husband Parks were the founders of the Lunch Box. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. Graveside services were held in Parksley Cemetery on Tuesday, 30 May at 3 pm, conducted by the Rev. O.H. Burton. Mrs. Bull is survived by her children, Ann Bull Justis of Cambridge, MD, and Martin P. Bull of Parksley; her sister, Dorothy Jean Otis of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews..³ Her body was interred at Parksley Cem, Acc Co, VA.⁴

     Pvt. Vincent Lewis of the US Army, who is stationed in Texas, is spending his furlough with his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Payson Lewis of Saxis (Pen. Ent., 29 Sep 1944). Vincent was born on 15 June 1915 at Saxis Island, Acc Co, VA.² He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1920 at Saxis Island, Acc Co, VA.¹ Vincent was a member of the armed forces serving at US Army, World War II, Sgt.³ Vincent was living at Saxis Island, Acc Co, VA.      William was born on 9 July 1917 at Accomack Co, VA. He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1920 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He died on 11 July 2010 at Raleigh, NC, at age 93. William Wade Witham, formerly of Raleigh, NC, passed away on July 11, 2010. He was born on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on July 9, 1917 to Nellie May and Melvin Witham. He is preceded in death by his brothers, James, David, Win, and Carlton Witham; sister, Laura Byrd; and grandson, William Preston Pleasant. He joined the Air Force at 23 as a Turret Gunner during WWII, receiving the Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Cross. He worked for Western Electric (now Lucent) and was transferred to North Carolina in 1957. Wade was a very active member of the Elks Lodge of Raleigh for 30 years. He is survived by his daughters, Louise Hovey of Smithfield and Jacque Crawford of Wilmington; son-in-laws, Dan Hovey and Ray Crawford; grandchildren, Jennifer Parker, Heather Barnhill, and John White; great-grandchildren, Caroline Marie Parker, Daniel Lee Parker, Austin Lawrence Parker, William Chase Barnhill, Colton Ray Barnhill, and Chloe Lillian Barnhill. The family would like to thank the nurses and aids from Hospice who have taken such good care of our father. We would also like to thank the members of the Elks Lodge #735 for the friendship and love they have given him for so many years. Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm on Friday, July 16 at the Cremation Society of the Carolinas, 2205 E. Millbrook Rd, Raleigh, NC, with a graveside service immediately following at Restlawn Memorial Gardens off the Durham Highway (70) in Raleigh, NC.

     Ruth was born on 10 June 1907 at Greenbackville, Acc Co, VA. She married Wilfred T. Mason, son of Zorobabel William Mason III and Eva Jane Marshall, on 12 February 1928 at Stockton, Worcester Co, MD. Ruth died on 25 June 1959 at Greenbackville, Acc Co, VA, at age 52.
