Elizabeth Selvey was born circa 1656.3 She married William Fletcher I circa 1674 at Accomack Co, VA.3 As of circa 1674,her married name was Fletcher.3 Elizabeth Selvey received land as a gift in 1675 at tract A24, south of Pungoteague, Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Tobias Sellvey, Chirurgion, gave 150 acres to his daughter Elizabeth and her husband William Fletcher, and in 1692(sic) he bequeathed 50 acres each to his daughters Elizabeth, Matilda and Clemencye. As he made no othe disposition of land it seems probable that he had also given 150 acres each to Matilda and Clemencye, althought such deeds are not recorded, as that would have given each of the daughters a third of his patent land.3 Elizabeth was named in her father's will on 14 February 1681/82 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as daughter Elizabeth in the will of Tobias Selvey.2 Elizabeth was named in her husband's will on 2 November 1710 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as wife Elizabeth in the will of William Fletcher.1

Sarah (-----) was born circa 1700 at Accomack Co, VA.1 As of circa 1720,her married name was Fletcher.1 She married William Fletcher II, son of William Fletcher I and Elizabeth Selvey, circa 1720.1 Sarah was named in her husband's will on 19 May 1729 at Andua Creek, Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as wife Sarah in the will of William Fletcher.1 As of circa 1730,her married name was Watson.2 She married David Watson (blacksmith or turner?) circa 1730.2 On 2 May 1733 in Accomack Court an inventory of various things belonging to the estate of Wm. Fletcher dec'd which were burned in the house of David Watson was presented to the court; Sarah Fletcher and Eliza Chance swore to the list and it was recorded. Upon the motion of Thos. Fletcher and Wm. Meers (securities for the estate of Wm. Fletcher) it was ordered that David Watson (who married the widow of Wm. Fletcher) give security for the estate or deliver it o the Fletcher and Meers, except for the part that had been burned.3 On 6 Sep 1733 at Accomcak Court David Watson and his wife Sarah brought an action of trespass against Josiah Harrison; the jury brought in a special verdict. They found that Tobias Selvey had been granted a patent on 5 April 1666, for 600 acres, of which the plaintiffs' land was part. They found that Selvey deeded 150 acres of the land to Willm. Fletcher and his wife Elizabeth, who was Selvey's daughter. (The jury annexed the patent, deed and Selvey's will.) The jury found that the female plaintiff was widow to the heir at law of Willm. and Elizabeth Fletcher, and as such was possessed of the land, and no dower had been assigned to her by the heir, who, at the time of his death, was using the land in question as his "mannor Plantation." The jury also found that there was an old line between the plaintiffs' land and the defendant's father, which was processioned three times and "was an old Line before that time & that the Defendant on that side of the Line where the plantiffs Plantation lyes cut & carryed away several Timbers." If the law favored the plaintiffs, the jury would award them five shillings sterling in damages. If it favored the defendant, the jury would find for him. The matter of law was to be argued at the next court. And on the same date David Watson and his wife Sarah brought an action of trespass against Joseph Harrison. The jury awarded the plaintiffs one penny sterling in damages. The court noted that the title of the land was in question, and ordered that the plaintiffs recover their full costs and one attorney’s fee. On 9 Nov 1733 it was recorded David Watson and his wife Sarah had brought action of trespass against Josiah Harrison, and a special verdict was reached. After discussing the matter, the court decided the law favored the plaintiffs, who were to recover five shillings sterling in damages. The court was of the opinion that the title of the land had come into question.4

Tobias Selvey (Selby?) was born circa 1630.1 He married (-----) (-----) circa 1655. Tobias Selvey (Selby?) patented land in 1666 at tract A24, south of Pungoteague, Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as Tobias Selvey and patented 600 acres.2 He deeded land as a gift in 1675 at tract A24, south of Pungoteague, Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Tobias Sellvey, Chirurgion, gave 150 acres to his daughter Elizabeth and her husband William Fletcher, and in 1692(sic) he bequeathed 50 acres each to his daughters Elizabeth, Matilda and Clemencye. As he made no othe disposition of land it seems probable that he had also given 150 acres each to Matilda and Clemencye, althought such deeds are not recorded, as that would have given each of the daughters a third of his patent land.2 Tobias made a will on 14 February 1681/82 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as Tobias Selvey. To daughter Matillda Harrison. To Joseph Harrison (under age) Daus. Climencye Elizabeth & Matillda 50 acres O. To William Allford, if he stays with me until I die & serves his time justly, 1000 £ of tobacco - Three daughters residual legatees & Executrices. Witt: John Smalley, William Alford.1 He died before 16 February 1681/82 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated.1

David Watson (blacksmith or turner?)1
M, b. circa 1700
David Watson (blacksmith or turner?) was born circa 1700.2 He married Sarah (-----) circa 1730.2 On 2 May 1733 in Accomack Court an inventory of various things belonging to the estate of Wm. Fletcher) give security for the estate or deliver it o the Fletcher and Meers, except for the part that had been burned.1 On 6 Sep 1733 at Accomcak Court David Watson and his wife Sarah brought an action of trespass against Josiah Harrison; the jury brought in a special verdict. The court was of the opinion that the title of the land had come into question.3
