His name was written in the body of the document, Roger O'Cane, but in the margin it was entered Keene O'Roger, and in the probate records he appears as Keine O'Roger.      John Brown I was born circa 1645 at Glasgow, Scotland.² He married Sarah Minard on 16 September 1668 at Somerset Co, MD.³ John Brown I died before 19 July 1697 at Somerset Co, MD. The assumption is that he was a brother of Col. David Brown, who named John's sons John and Alexander Brown in is will of this date.²
