     Roger O'Cane was born circa 1615.1 In the case of Roger O'Cane of Somerset Co., Md - At the Land Commissioners office in Annapolis there is a record of a land grant to him, under date of June 26, 1679. He called his home plantation Waterford, doubtless after his birthplace in Ireland. His name was written in the body of the document, Roger O'Cane, but in the margin it was entered Keene O'Roger, and in the probate records he appears as Keine O'Roger. On the marriage of his son, Donogh Dennis O'Cane, to Elise Nehulian at Hungars Parish Church, Northampton Co., Va., on July 31, 1661, his name was recorded Donock Dennis, thus making it appear that his surname was Dennis.2 He married (-----) (-----) circa 1638. Roger made a will on 16 February 1687 at Somerset Co, MD. To Donagh and Alice Dennis Sr. To Alice Dennis Jr. Katharine Dennis, John Dennis & Ellinor Dennis. To Donagh Dennis Jr. Extr.
