Williams and Asbury Williams witnessed the will of Joseph Coffil Hudson.12 Arthur was listed as a head of household in the census of 1820 at Baltimore Hundred, Sussex Co, DE. 1M16-18, 1M16-26, 1M26-45, 1M>45, 1F10-16, 1F16-26, 1F26-45.13 Arthur made a will on 22 September 1828 at Sussex Co, DE. Legatees: Arthur Williams Townsend (grandson), James Gillett Dickinson (grandson), Elche Gillett Dickinson (granddaughter), Selumeth Dickinson (granddaughter), Elizabeth Dickinson (granddaughter). Witt: Ezekiel Williams, Sr., Joshua Johnson, Polley Hickmon.14 He died before 11 March 1829 at Sussex Co, DE. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Arthur Williams was granted to Asbury Williams with Ezekiel Williams security.14

It was in this year that Andrew Williams Sr., Andrew Williams Jr., Arthur William & Ezekiel Williams where shown as land owners in the reconstructed census.12 Andrew witnessed a will on 18 March 1790 at Sussex Co, DE. It was on this date that Andrew Williams, Arthur Williams & John Evans witnessed the will of Robert Barnes, wife Betty.13 Andrew made a will on 4 October 1794 at Sussex Co, DE. Heirs: wife Rizear Williams; sons Andrew, Thomas, Edward, Ezekiel and Arthur Williams; daughter Rizear Godfrey; grandsons Thomas Williams (son of Andrew) and William Hudson. Extr son Arthur Williams. It was on this date that Peter Furbursh sold the 50 acre tract Force Putt to John Larramore. He also sold a 50 acre tract Priviledge to John Larramore and 50 acres of Wolfs Quarter to John Larramore.3 Peter was named in his brother's will on 31 August 1737 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as my brother Peter Forbes in the will of John Forbes. He was to have my remaining estate if he be living else to my sister Ann Avernton.4 Peter witnessed a will on 9 February 1738 at Somerset Co, MD. It was on this date that Henry Dashiell, Petter Furbush and Sarah Nutter witnessed the will of John Larramore, wife Mary.5

William Brittingham Sr. was born circa 1640. He may have come to Virginia on the Looshall Roll in 1656.2 He was transported into the province of Maryland by 1663.3 He married Elizabeth (?) Williams (Williams?) circa 1665. Somerset Sampler shows Rebecca Brittingham was the daughter of William Brittingham and his wife who was Elizabeth Williams of Accomack Co, but there is no source cited for that information.4 William Brittingham Sr. patented land in 1670 at tract A164, north side of Pitts Creek, Acc Co, VA. It was in this year that a patent was granted to William Brittingham for 450 acres and in 1700 another one for 96 acres, presumably excess acreage found within the original bounds.5 He married Mary Roach, daughter of John Roach I and Sarah Williams, after 3 August 1699 at Accomack Co, VA. Five tracts of land that had been patented in Somerset Co by Francis Martin became possed by William Brittingham in Virginia by marrying the widow.3,6,7 William Brittingham Sr. exchanged land in 1707 at tract A164, north side of Pitts Creek, Acc Co, VA. It was in this year that William and Mary Brittingham of Accomack exchanged 150 acres here with John Brittingham of Somerset for land there. Then in 1728 John Brittingham Sr. (wife Christian) left to his eldest son William his plantation in Virginia and 100 acres adjacent in Maryland.5 William made a will on 18 March 1708/9 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as William Brittingham Sr. To son Samuel plantation where he now lives being on the gut leading out of Pitts Creek. To son Nathaniel plantation where I now live & for want of heirs to my son Samuel. To son John. To daughter Rebecca Brittingham 150 acres where William Brittingham, Jr. lately lived. To son William 400 acres in Somerset County, Maryland, being part of a divident containing 700 acres called Winter Quarter. To son Joseph 200 acres in Somerset County being part of the above tract. To son Samuel 100 acres of said tract. To daughter Sarah Horsey. To son Isaac 5 s. as a bar to cut him off. Son in law Mr. Francis Thorrowgood 1/2 of the marsh land adjcent planta where I now live in Somerset County, Maryland, & the other 1/2 to my son Nathaniel. Daughter Ann Thorowgood. Wife Mary & son in law Francis Thorowgood Exrs. Witt: Robert Pitt, Ralph Milbourne, Elizabeth Pitt, Thomas Baker. Codicil: Land in Maryland to son Samuel.8 He died before 5 April 1709 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated.1,9
