Paul Thorowgood I was born circa 1722 at Worcester Co, MD. Placing Paul Thorowgood as a son of a hypothetical brother of Rose (72) Thorowgood is purely hypothetical as no proof has been found to support this theory. He may have been somewhat older and possibly a brother of Rose. Or he may have been a son of another son of Francis (16) Thorowgood before he married Elizabeth White. Placing Paul here is merely a place holder to show him as a part of the Adam (1) Thorowgood family of Virginia until more information can be obtained. He patented land in 1747 at Hard Struggle, Worcester Co, MD. It was in this year that Paul Thorogood patented 385 acres called Hard Struggle.2 He married Elizabeth Miller (Miller?) circa 1760.1,3 Paul Thorowgood I bought land in 1760 at Indian River, Baltimore Hundred, Worcester Co, MD. It also seems plausible that he was the Paul Thoroughgood taxed in the household of Paul Waples in Baltimore Hundred in the years 1734, 1735, 1736, 1737 and 1739 (then in Somerset County).1 He bought land on 1 March 1760 at Peppers Delight, Worcester Co, MD. It was on this date that Mary Lewis sold Peppers Delight (100 acres) to Paul Thorogood.4 Paul made a will on 21 November 1778 at Sussex Co, DE. To wife Elizabeth Thoroughgood; sons Miller, William, Elisha, Paul, Elihu and John Thoroughgood; daughters Anna and Elizabeth Thoroghgood. Extrs sons Miller and William Thoroughgood. Witt: Benjamin Phillips, Solomon Willey and Annabel Salmon.3 He died after 21 November 1778 at Sussex Co, DE. It was on this date that his will was written, but there was no probate date.3

Robert Houston IV1

M, b. circa 1730, d. before 25 February 1788
FatherRobert Houston III1 b. c 1702, d. 15 Feb 1789
MotherElizabeth Howard1 b. c 1710
Robert Houston IV was born circa 1730 at Dagsboro Hundred, Sussex Co, DE.1,2 There is some confusion regarding the parents of this Robert Houston IV. Miss Elissa Houston shows he was the son of John (wife Rhoda) and Catherine Bond Gheesling shows he was the son of Robert III (wife Elizabeth). John (wife Rhoda) and Robert III (wife Elizabeth) were brothers and both named sons Robert who were both born within a few years of each other. Dr. William R.M. Houston shows that Robert III's wife was Elizabeth Howard and that it was her son Robert IV that named a son Isaac Howard Houston which seems to settle the matter.3,4,1 He married Mary Purnell circa 1752 at Snow Hill, Worcester Co, MD.2,3 Robert Houston IV married Priscilla Laws, daughter of John Laws Sr. and Agnes Alexander, circa 1757 at Cedar Creek, Sussex Co, DE. After the birth of the second child, his wife died and he moved to Cedar Creek, Sussex Co, DE and later married Priscilla Laws.5,3 Robert made a will on 23 January 1788 at Sussex Co, DE.2 He died before 25 February 1788 at Sussex Co, DE. It was on this date that his will was probated.2
