William Lee.^1,2 Seth was listed as a head of household in the census of 1830 at St. Georges Parish, Acc Co, VA.¹ Seth was listed as a head of household in the census of 1840 at Princess Ann Co, VA.¹ He died on 5 August 1874 at age 75.¹

     Frances 'Fanny' B. Outten was born on 14 March 1805 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was named in the settlement of her grandfather's estate on 29 March 1819 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as Arrabella Evans, age 70, in HH#LM696 headed by Elzey Evans, a 45 year old farmer. Also listed was Solomon Evans, age 70, who was evidently her husband.²

     Susannah (-----) was born circa 1680.¹ She married John Bowdoin, son of Pierre Claude Bowdoin and Elizabeth Fixe, circa 1700.¹ As of circa 1700,her married name was Bowdoin.¹ Susannah was named in her husband's will on 20 February 1716 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as wife Susannah Bowden in the will of John Bowden, merchant.¹ She was on the list of tithables at Northampton Co, VA, between 1720 and 1730. She was shown as as either Mrs. Susan Bowdoin, Mrs. Bowdoin or Susan Bowdoin on the tithable list from 1720 to 1730, except 1722 & 1727 when her son Peter Bowdion was shown. The number of tithables varied from 2 to 11 and most years her son Peter was listed with her. A son John Bowdoin was never listed with her.² She died before 1731 at Northampton Co, VA. She was evidently dec'd by 1731 as she was not longer shown on the tithable list and instead her son Peter Bowdoin was on the list from 1731 until 1744. A tithable list was not found from 1745 to 1764.²

     Littleton J. Sturgis was born circa 1820.¹ He married Sarah Margaret Ennis, daughter of Stephen Ennis and Martha Horsey, on 18 December 1854. They were shown as Littleton J. Sturgis and Sarah M. Powell.¹

     John Bowdoin was born between 1706 and 1716 at Northampton Co, VA. According to a later deposition his older brother Peter was born in 1706, so John was evidently born between 1706 and when he father named him in his will of 20 Feb 1716.¹ John was named in his father's will on 20 February 1716 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as son John Bowden in the will of John Bowden, merchant, wife Susannah. He was given Negro woman Dolly, my plantation at Mattchepungo and 875 acres on the Nonticoake River in Maryland which I purchased of Obadiah Wakefield.¹ He died before 1732 at Northampton Co, VA. John's mother Susannah was show on the tithable from 1720 until 1730 and his brother Peter was first listed in 1722. Peter had evidently turned 16 in 1722 (b.c. 1706), which matches his birth year according to a later deposition when he gave his age. However, John was never shown on a tithable list with either his mother Susannah or his brother Peter. If he was born in 1707, the year after his older brother Peter, he should have been on the tithable list starting in 1723. If he was born as late as 1716, the year his father wrote his will, he should have been on the tithable list starting in 1732. However, there was no list found in 1732 and there were no itemized names on the 1733 list of his brother. His brother Peter was on the list again from 1737 until the list ended in 1744 and John was never listed with him.²

     Mary Bowdoin was born circa 1710 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ Mary was named in her father's will on 20 February 1716 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as daughter Mary Bowden in the will of John Bowden, merchant, wife Susannah.¹

     Elizabeth Upshur Bowdoin was born on 19 October 1807 at Northampton Co, VA.³ Elizabeth was named in her father's will on 5 December 1821 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as daughter Elizabeth Upshur in the will of Peter Bowdoin, wife Leah.¹ As of 19 November 1825,her married name was Smith.² She married Dr. William G. It was on this date that her will was probated. Susanna Bowdoin gave her solemn affirmation as a Quaker. The witness Jonathan Stott is dec'd.²

     John Gibson was born circa 1714 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ John was named in his grandmother's will on 8 September 1732 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as grandson John Gibson in the will of Elizabeth Preeson, widow of Thomas Preeson. He was given 2 Negro men bourght of Thomas Blair in Accomack and Negro man Jacko if his mother pays Matt Harmanson £16.19.2.²

     Preeson Bowdoin was born in June 1760. His mother's tombstone shows him as age 6 months when she died in Dec 1760.^1,2 Preeson was named in his grandfather's will on 7 May 1768 at Philadelphia, PA. He was shown as grandson Preeson Bowdoin, son of my daughter Sarah, dec'd, when 21, in the will of Littleton Eyre. £2,000 was to be put out at interest and all to go to him. He also named my son-in-law Preeson Bowdoin of Philadelphia, husband of my daughter Sarah, dec'd.¹

Accomack County birth records show a John R. Bowden was born on 19 Dec 1855 in Messongo, the son of Dr. John R. Bowden & wife Areminda, a twin. The other twin was an unnamed daughter.^1,2,3 He died in 1939.¹ John was buried at Parksley Cemetery, Parksley, Acc Co, VA. His tombstone shows him as Dr. John W. Bowdoin, 1855-1939.¹

     Mary Elizabeth Tunstall was born circa 1703.³ As of circa 1720,her married name was Hack.³ She married (s/o Col. Peter - ?Kendal?) Hack, son of Col. Peter Hack and Mary (-----), circa 1720.³ As of circa 1750,her married name was Graham.¹ Mary Elizabeth Tunstall married John Graham circa 1750.¹ Mary Elizabeth Tunstall sold land on 7 March 1774 at Bluff Hammocks, Somerset Co, MD. It was on this date that John Graham and wife Mary Elizaeth Graham and John Gordan and Ann Gordan his wife of Northumberland, VA sold to Henry Lowes. Thiis land was patented by James Strawbridge, who sold to John Tunstall, and Ann Gordon and Mary Graham her his legal heirs.¹

     Capt. John Tunstall was born circa 1675.² He married Rebecca (-----) circa 1700. He was shown as as a ship's captain who settled at Princess Ann in Somerset Co, MD. He served as a magistrate and sheriff.¹ Capt. John Tunstall patented land on 25 May 1709 at Long Meadow, Dames Quarter, Somerset Co, MD. It was on this date that a Patent was issued to John Tunstall for 248 aces in Dames Quarter.³ He was on the list of tithables at Manokin Hundred, Somerset Co, MD, in 1723. He was shown as Capt. John Tunstall with 13 Negroes.⁴ He bought land on 2 September 1727 at Smiths Recovery, West Princess Ann, Somerset Co, MD. It was on this date that William Wheeler, son of Edward Wheeler, sold to John Tunstall 120 acres now called Wheelers Desire. In 1750 David Wilson gave to son David Wilson, purchased of Kendal Hack in Indian Town where John Tunstall formerly lived. In 1751 triparte - Tunstall Hack of Northumberland Co, VA, grandson of John Tunstall of Somerset Co dec'd, sold to Ephriam King and Thomas Jones of Manokin for 5 shillings the part that John Tunstall devised to his grandson.⁵ He bought land on 1 July 1737 at Deep, Somerset Co, MD. It was on this date that John Finch sold 150 acres to John Tunstall, merchant.⁶ He was named as the executor of a will on 18 June 1740 at Somerset Co, MD. He was shown as Capt. John Tunstall and named Extr in the will of Sarah Horsey.⁷ John made a will on 7 August 1746 at Somerset Co, MD. To grandson Tunstall Hack, Extr, plantatoin. Mentions grandson Peter Spencer Hack, cites his grandfather Col. Peter Hack of Virginia. Metions Col. George Gale, David Wilson & Samuel Wilson. To grandson Peter Spencer Hack, Extr, land. It was on this date that his will was probated.² He left land in 1746 at Lot-1, Princess Anne Town, Somerset Co, MD. It was in this year that John Tunstall willed this land to grandsons Tunstall Hack and Peter Spence Hack.⁸

     Rebecca (-----) was born circa 1680. She married Capt. John Tunstall circa 1700. As of circa 1700,her married name was Tunstall. Rebecca was named as an heir on 26 November 1716 at Somerset Co, MD. She was shown as Madam Rebecca Tunstall and left a legacy in the will of David Long.¹

It was on this date that Spencer Hack gave a release to Heber Whittingham 1/2 part of Deep & Shipways Choice, devised Spencer Hack by grandfather John Tunstall.³ He married Sarah Ann (-----) circa 1750.⁴ Peter Spencer Hack sold land on 5 November 1751 at Beverly, Somerset Co, MD. It was on this date that Peter Spencer Hack & wife Sarah Ann Hack to this land to James Knight and Nehemiah King 500 acres Bevery part of tract Double Purchase in Native Arracoco Neck.⁴
