It is my desire that my wearing apparel may not be sold but that the coarsest of it may be distributed among my Negroes giving to my Negro Isaac the greater part of it and the finest & best of it to be used for my daughter. It is also my desire that six of my best table and six of my best tea spoons & a gold ring, a pair of gold sleve buttons & a crest that was my wife's shall not be sold but kept for my said daughter. I nominate & appoint my friend William Satchell to be executor. Signed John Satchell. Witnesses: Will Satchell, Molly (her mark) Anderson, Peggy Powell.4 He died before 14 February 1803 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated. Administrator William Satchell. Appraisers: Charles West, George Boggs, George Belote and Charles S. Satchell. No administration records.4 He left land in 1803. It was in this year that John Satchell lef to his daughter Mary G. Satchell 100 acres of tract N52 near Matchipungo and 10 years later she married Thomas S. Satchell. After their deaths the title passed to their son Edward C. Satchell.5

     Daniel Darby I was born circa 1640.1 He married Dorothy Churchill circa 1665.2 Daniel Darby I was on the tax list in 1666 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as Danll Darby with 1 tith.3 Daniel witnessed a will on 8 May 1684 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Edward Ashbye, Thomas Dant, James Gray & Daniel Darby witnessed the will of John MacComb.4 Daniel witnessed a will on 22 March 1691 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date Christopher Stokelee, Daniel Darby and William French witnessed the will of Dorman Silevant, wife no name.1 He bought land in 1692 at tract A12, between Craddockville & Pungoteague, Acc Co, VA. It was in this year that Daniel Darby bought 245 acres from Charles & William Fawsett, both of Somerset County. When he died a few years later, he owned more of the Richardson land.5 He deeded land as a gift in 1696 at tract A12, between Craddockville & Pungoteague, Acc Co, VA. It was in this year that Daniel Darby gave 82 acres to his son William, and in his will of 1709 he left 50 acres adjacent to his grandson Daniel, son of William. William Darby died intestate in 1712 and his part went to his son Daniel, who in 1712 sold his 132 acres to William Meers.5 Daniel was named in his son's will on 23 November 1708 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as my father Daniel Darby and named Extr in the will of Churchill Darby.6 Daniel made a will on 20 December 1708 at Accomack Co, VA. To son Daniel Darby plantation where I now live. To grandson George Darby, son of my deceased son Dormond Darby 100 acres where my daughter in law, his mother, now lives. His son Christopher died intestate in 1744 leaving a wife Sabra and a daughter Mary to inherit. Mary later married William Satchell adn in 1787 a survey showed the land to contain 214 acres. This land became merged with tht of A15C and remained so until the late 1800s when it was broken up in the division of the estate of St. George W. Teackle.5

He was shown as my son Charles Stockley (Satchell) and given small square walnut table, still and worm and £9 in the will of Mary Satchell.2 Charles made a will on 8 May 1805 at Northampton Co, VA. It is my will and desire that all of my Negroes over the age of twenty one years be free, those under twenty one to serve until that time & then to be free. I give and bequeath unto my Aunt Palmer Martin one hundred & fifty dollars cash. I give and bequeath unto my brother Christopher Satchell. I give unto my sister Adah Snead. I give & bequeath unto my brother William Satchell. I give unto my sister Sarah Satchell. I give & bequeath unto my nephew Thomas S. Satchell. I give unto Mrs. Rose Dolby. I appoint my brothers Christopher and William Satchell my executors. Signed, Charles S. Satchell.3
He died before 9 December 1805 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated. Proven by the oaths of William Harmanson Senr and Rickards Dunton Jr. Administrators Christopher Satchell and William Satchell.
