Christopher Stockley I was born circa 1670.1 Christopher witnessed a will on 22 March 1691 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date Christopher Stokelee, Daniel Darby and William French witnessed the will of Dorman Silevant, wife no name.2 Christopher was named as an heir on 14 January 1697/98 at tract A16, Craddockvllie, Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as friend Christopher Stokely in the will of John Waltham, wife Elizabeth. He gave him land adjoining Richard Kellam. Whitelaws shows this a part of tract A16 south of Craddockville with no explaination as to any possible relationship.1,3 Christopher witnessed a will on 28 August 1699 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Luke Layler, Christopher Stockley & Judith Brereton witness the will of Elizabeth Waltham, late wife of John Waltham dec'd.4 He married Mary (-----) circa 1700.5 On 3 Jan 1708/9 Christoper Stockly and Dorothy Osbourne proved the verbal will of William Milby.6 Christopher made a will on 12 May 1728 at Accomack Co, VA. To wife Mary plantation where I now live & personal estate for life, then personal estate to be divided between my 3 children Christopher, Christian & Isabel Stokly. To son Christopher all my land & for want of heirs to my 2 daughters Christian & Isabel & for want of heirs to Allison Rose. Wife Mary Exec. Witt: Andrew Allen, Bridgett Allen, John Rose. Whitelaw shows this as tract A16 south of Craddockville being the land John Waltham gave him in 1698. His son Christopher died intestate in 1744 leaving a wife Sabra and a daughter Mary to inherit. Mary later married William Satchell adn in 1787 a survey showed the land to contain 214 acres. This land became merged with tht of A15C and remained so until the late 1800s when it was broken up in the division of the estate of St. George W. Teackle.5,7 He died before 2 July 1728 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated.5

It was in this year that Josiah Harrison sold 100 acres in tract A24 to Jacob Harrison; he and his wife Sarah resold to John R. Downing and 2 years later he and his wife Elizabeth sold back to Jacob.4 He bought land in 1764 at tract A49, Keller Area, Acc Co, VA. It was in this year that Edmund Scarburgh's Extr sold 100 acres of tract A49 to John Robins Downing and in 1779 he, wife Sophia, left to his son John Downing.5 He was security on the administration of an estate on 26 December 1769 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Charles LeCatt was granted to Esther LeCatt with John Downing & William Haislop securities.6 He married Sophia (-----) circa 1778.1 John made a will on 25 March 1779 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as John Robins Downing, Yeoman. To son John Downing land where I live, also 25 acres of swamp land which I bought of Col. Rule. To son Francis Downing 81 acres which I bought of John Savage of Northampton. To wife Sophia Downing. To daughter Peggy negro for life, reversion to her daughter Rachel. My desire is that my nephew John Pits shall have schooling as high as the Rule of three. To daughter Nancy Downing. Wife Sophia, daughter Leah, Rachel, John, Nancy & my son Francis residual legatees. Susannah Hornsby was born circa 1762 at Accomack Co, VA.1 Susannah was named in her father's will on 4 April 1773 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as daughter Susannah Horsby in the will of John Hornsby Sr., wife Keziah. He gave her 216 acres where I now live. According to Whitelaw John Hornsby, wife Keziah, left his part of tract A11 to his daughter Susannah who married Hillary Stringer.1,2 As of circa 1790,her married name was Stringer.2 She married Hillary (244) Stringer, son of Hillary (114) Stringer and Ann (404) Teackle, circa 1790.
