     Thomas Widgeon was born circa 1730 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ He married Anne (-----) circa 1760 at Northampton Co, VA. According to Whitelaw Thomas Widgeon's wife Anne previously had been the widow of William Stockley and after the 1774 death of Widgeon she married Elijah Baker.^1,2 Thomas made a will on 10 March 1774 at Northampton Co, VA. To loving wife Anne the use of the 141 A. plantation whereon I now live and all my personal estate during her life. To John Widgeon, Jr. and his wife Anne (after my wife's death) the use of said plantation during their lives, and then to their dau. Mary Widgeon. According to Whitelaw he left his wife Anne 141 acres (tract N41) for life, then to a son John and his wife for their lives and finally to a granddaughter Mary. There were no other Widgeon heirs and granddaughter Mary inherited the land and later married John Tyson.³ He died before 10 May 1774 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated.³

     Matthew (s/o Matt) Floyd was born in 1755 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ Matthew was named in his father-in-law's will on 10 March 1774 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as my son-in-law (meaning step-son) Matthew Floyd, son of Matthew Floyd Jr. dec'd, and given £200 in the will of Thomas Widgeon, wife Anne. So evidently Anne was his mother & the widow of the Matthew Floyd who named a wife Anne in his will of 24 Nov 1754. Evidently son Matthew was born after his father wrote his will.¹

     Benjamin Floyd was born circa 1770 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ Benjamin was named as an heir on 10 March 1774 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as Benjamin Floyd son to (Maj.) John Floyd and given £5 in the will of Thomas Widgeon, wife Anne. He also named a son-in-law (meaning step-son) Matthew Floyd son of Matthew Floyd Jr. dec'd and gave him £200.¹

     Esther Floyd was born circa 1777 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ Esther was named in her uncle's will on 27 March 1779 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as Esther Floyd, daughter of Matthew Floyd, in the Codicil to the will of Thomas Evans, wife Sarah. Evidently Matthew Floyd was a brother to Thomas Evans' wife Sarah.¹

     (-----) (-----) was born circa 1665. She married John (7) Fisher (IV), son of Capt. Phillip (4) Fisher (I) and Elizabeth Maddox, circa 1682. As of circa 1682,her married name was Fisher.

     Alexander Kemp was born circa 1720.¹ He married Comfort Satchell, daughter of William Satchell and Susannah (-----), circa 1745 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ Alexander made a will on 26 September 1757 at Northampton Co, VA. To wife Comfort everything I have during her widowhood and after her death the land to my son John. Resid. legatees all my children. Witt: Littleton Wilkins, Peter 'X' Hamelton, John Dayson.¹ He died before 11 October 1757. It was on this date that his will was probated.¹

     Susanna was born in 1724 at Northampton Co, VA.² Susanna was named in her father's will on 13 April 1737 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as daughter Susanna Satchell in the will of William Satchell, wife Susanna. She was gien my 100 A. plantation whereon I now live, and also 75 A. bounded by a line of marked trees between me and John Ellegood after paying £5 to each of her sisters, viz., Hhamer and Henritta Satchell.³ She married Matthew (81) Floyd Jr., son of Charles Floyd and Elizabeth (29) Fisher, circa 1740.^1,4 As of circa 1740,her married name was Floyd.¹ Susanna witnessed a will on 7 February 1745/46 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date Golden Fox, Henry Bryant & Susanna 'X' Floyd witnessed the will of Thomas Clarke, wife Peggy.⁵ Susanna was named as an heir on 7 May 1751 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as Susanna Floyd and given one shilling in the will of William Stott. He also gave William Floyd his musket.⁶ She died before 31 January 1752 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as Susanna whose clothes were given to my daughter Elizabeth Floyd that were her mothers in the will of Matthew Floyd Jr. He also requested his son William (when he becomes of lawful age) to convey 100 acres which I sold to John Ellegood that I held in right of my wife Susanna his (i.e. John Ellegood's) mother.⁷ In Aug 1753 a suit of Kemp vs Floyd was recorded in Northampton Co, VA. A complaint was filed by Alexander Kemp and Comfort, his wife and Hhamer Satchell. They show that William Satchell, father of Comfort & Hhamer, by his will probated 10 May 1737, devised his plantation and additional land to his daughter Susanna Satchell after paying £5 to each of her sisters, Hhamer and Henrietta. The said Susanna took possession and aftwards married Mathew Floyd. Henrietta Satchell died under age @ 1750. At the time of this complaint - 12 Dec 1752 - both Susannah and Matthew Floyd were deceased. Neither the said Susannah before her marriage to the said Matthew nor James Floyd, his Extr. have paid the £5 as directed in the will to Hhamer Satchell nor to the representatives of the dec'd Henrietta. The above said James still refuses to pay. The said James in his answer - dated 8 May 1753 - claims that Alexander Kemp was named guardian of Hhamer Satchell 14 years ago (thus she was born about 1728) and that no suit has been filed for all of the ensuing years. He also answers that he has no proof that the devise was not paid. He asks that the case be dismissed.¹

     Elizabeth (-----) was born circa 1720.¹ As of before October 1743,her married name was Floyd.¹ She married William Floyd, son of Hugh 'Hew' Floyd II and Elizabeth (-----), before October 1743 at Northampton Co, VA. In Oct 1743 it was recorded in N'hamp Co that William Floyd and Elizabeth his wife complain of assault against the said Elizabeth by Samuel Floyd. The said Samuel retorts that he was only defending himself from the said Elizabeth who attacked him first. Judgement for the Dft.¹

     (sibling of Wm.) Floyd was born circa 1720 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ It was at this time that Elizabeth Floyd petitions that her dec'd husband Hugh Floyd died without a will leaving two children. She asks for an order to divide his estate, which was granted.¹

     Ann Stockley Teackle was born on 17 February 1786 at Assawoman, Acc Co, VA.² As of 26 July 1802,her married name was Floyd.¹ She married John Kendall Floyd, son of William (128) Floyd and Esther L. (138C) Kendall, on 26 July 1802 at Northampton Co, VA. Thos Lyt Savage was the security on the M.L.B. of John K. Floyd and Ann Stoackley Teackle the daughter of Thomas Teackle of Acc Co, who gave consent. They were married on 28 Jul 1802 by J. Elliott.^1,2 Ann Stockley Teackle died on 19 April 1846 at Old Castle, Northampton Co, VA, at age 60. Sermon by the Rev. Mr. Ufford from 2nd Corinth, 5 Chapter, 1st verse.² Her estate was probated on 11 May 1846 at Northampton Co, VA; It was on this date that administration on the estate of Mrs. Ann S.      Frances Hallett was born circa 1785 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ As of 7 May 1805,her married name was Floyd.¹ She married William Floyd Sr., son of William (128) Floyd and Esther L. (138C) Kendall, on 7 May 1805 at Northampton Co, VA. John Hallett was the security on the M.L.B. of William Floyd and Frances Hallet.¹ Frances Hallett was named in the settlement of her father's estate on 13 October 1817 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date at the settlement of the estate of William Hallett that William Floyd was listed as an heir in right of his wife Frances.² Frances was named in her husband's will on 20 July 1822 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as wife Frances Floyd in the will of William Floyd.³ She died before 13 November 1843 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Frances Floyd was granted to Thomas Hallett.⁴

     Susan Dixon was born circa 1720.¹ Susan was named in her father's will on 8 November 1736 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as my daughter Susanna in the will of Michael Dixon, wife Elizabeth.² As of circa 1745,her married name was Floyd.¹ She married Samuel (82) Floyd, son of Charles Floyd and Elizabeth (29) Fisher, circa 1745.¹ Susan Dixon died before 14 April 1752 at Northampton Co, VA.¹

     Michael Dixon was born circa 1680.¹ He married Elizabeth (-----) circa 1710.¹ Michael Dixon died before 14 June 1737 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated.¹

     Elizabeth (-----) was born circa 1690.¹ She married Michael Dixon circa 1710.¹ As of circa 1710,her married name was Dixon.¹

     John Floyd was born circa 1745 at Northampton Co, VA.¹

     Capt. Charles Floyd was born in 1747 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ He died in 1820 at Georgia. He was the founder of the Floyds of Georgia.¹

     Elizabeth Floyd was born circa 1750 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ As of circa 1770,her married name was Fitchett.¹ She married Joshua T. Fitchett Sr., son of John Fitchett and (d/o Jno) Satchell, circa 1770.¹

     Joshua T. Fitchett Sr. was born in 1741 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ Joshua was named in his father's will on 28 September 1761 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as son Joshua in the will of John Fitchet, wife Sarah. If wife marries the my 3 youngest sons (assumed to be Joshua, Witherington & Robins) to be bound to trades as the law directs.² He inherited land in 1761 at tract N2, Isaac's Shoal, N'hamp Co, VA. In 1738 a patent for Isaac's Shoal Island, just east of Fisherman's Island, tract N2, was granted to John Fitchett, John Dixon and Tilney Dixon for 33 1/2 acres. In 1761 John Fitchett, wife Sarah, left his 1/3 interest to son Joshua.³ He married Elizabeth Floyd, daughter of Samuel (82) Floyd and Susan Dixon, circa 1770.⁴ Joshua T. Fitchett Sr. bought land in 1803 at tract N5, Capeville, N'hamp Co, VA. It was in this year that the heirs of Anne (Mifflin) Roberts united in a deed for 272 1/2 acres to Joshua Fitchett who became a large landowner in this part of the county. He had been a mariner until he married Martha (Patsy) Polk, the daughter of William and Sabra (Bradford) Polk (tract A43); after that he remained ashore and turned his activities to farming and his expanding interests. In 1826 Fitchett left a considerable estate to wife Patsy for life and then it was to be divided among his 4 children. In 1841 Mrs. Fitchett died and the next year the large Fitchett holdings were sold in separate parcels and this one of 386 acres was bought by Thomas K. & Emeline P. Dunton, she being a Fitchett daughter.⁵ He married Martha 'Patsy' Polk, daughter of Capt. William Polk and Sabra (71) Bradford, on 23 October 1810 at Accomack Co, VA. Thomas Sturgis was the security on the M.L.B. of Joshua Fitchett and Patsy Polk.⁶ Joshua made a will on 22 November 1825 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as Joshua Fitchett Senr. I give into my daughter Nancy Evans the sum of sixty dollars per annum during her natural life. I lend unto my beloved wife Patsy Fitchett during her widowhood the whole of my estate. At or after her death or marriage it is my will that the whole of my estate real and personal should be equally divided amongst my four children; Mary Fitchett, Emaline Fitchett, William P. C. Fitchett and Sabra Fitchett and if either should die before they come to full age of twenty one it is my will that the remaining children of the four should heir equally my whole estate. I nominate and appoint my wife Patsy Fitchett, my son William P. C. Fitchett and my friends John Goffigon Senr and John K. Floyd executors. Signed, Joshua Fitchett . Witnesses: Levin Dix, Sally (her mark) Pratt, Purnell T. Outten and Patrick (his mark) Worin.⁷ He died on 8 March 1826.¹ Joshua was buried at Jones Farm, Cedar Grove, N'hamp Co, VA. His tombstone shows him as Joshua T. Fitchett, died 8 Mar 1826, age 85 years. (born 1841).¹ He estate was settled on 13 July 1829 at Northampton Co, VA. Patsey Fitchett and John K. Floyd declined the administration so John Goffigon was appointed. Bond $10,000. Appraisers: William Costin Senr, Southy Spady, John Trower and Christopher Fitchett. He was shown as son Elijah Floyd (under age) in the will of Berry Floyd, wife Sarah.¹ Elijah was named in his grandfather's will on 17 July 1810 at St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as grandson Elijah Floyd, son of Berry Floyd dec'd, in the will of Elijah Watson of St. George Parish. He was given the plantation whereon I now live with the condition that he convey to his older brother Benjamin Floyd the right to his father Berry Floyd's land. Whitelaw shows this as the 350 acre Edmund Watson part of tract A2, the western part on Occohannock Creek.^3,4 He married Rachel R. Garrison, daughter of James Garrison, on 27 March 1816 at Accomack Co, VA. Thomas Smith was the security on the M.L.B. of Elijah Floyd and Rachel Garrison of Jms.⁵ On 3 Jan 1817 Elijah Floyd purchased the schooner 'Jackson' & her apparel for $70.75 at the estate sale of George Smith.⁶ Elijah Floyd inherited land in 1820 at Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that James Garrison (wife Sarah) left a 270-acres plantation (tract A64) to his daughters Rachel, Salley H., and Ann J., who married respectively Elijah Floyd, John Smith and Nathaniel S. Smith.⁷ He sold land in 1826 at Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that James Garrison (wife Sarah) daughters & their husbands sold a 270-acres plantation (tract A64) to John S. Mears.⁷ Elijah was named in his mother's will on 30 November 1826 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as son Elijah Floyd in the will of Sarah Floyd of St. George Parish.⁸ He bought land in 1834 at Northampton Co, VA. It was in this year that Elijah Floyd bought 260 acres of tract N97 from William R. Milby & his wife Ann S. Milby. It included the house called "Happy Union" tract N97A. In 1837 Floyd left the home part of the property to a son Richard E. Floyd and the balance to a daughter Mary Ann Floyd. Richard E. Floyd later died two weeks before his son and heir, Richard E.T. Floyd, was born. In 1917 in a final division of the Floyd estate, commissioners sold the house and 65 acres to J.A. Shelton, who had married Fanny Floyd.⁹ Elijah was named as administrator of an estate on 24 November 1834 at Accomack Co, VA. Floyd the part of my land that my grandfather Elijah Watson gave me starting at Edmund W. P. Downing's land running up the ditch to the turn then to a small white gum close to Edward T. Baley's land the part next to the main county rode. To my son James G. Floyd the other part of said land that my grandfather Elijah Watson gave me lying next to the Creek. To my daughter Sally J. W. Floyd the lots in Belhaven that I bought of Benjamin Floyd also the land in Occohanoc Neck that I bought of Richard Ames and others. To my son Richard E. Floyd the part of my land which I bought of Wm Milbey where the houses stand up to the petition fence. To my daughter Mary Ann Floyd the balance of my land lying next to Samuel P. Fisher's heirs. Bayly containing 130 acres & also 40 acres I bought of William Underhill with the condition that he convey to his brother Benjamin Floyd the right to his father Berry Floyd's land.      Sarah Hornsby was born circa 1775 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ As of 8 June 1794,her married name was Floyd.¹ She married Benjamin (198) Floyd, son of John Floyd II and Ann (66) Wilkins, on 8 June 1794. They were shown only as Benjamin Floyd & Sarah Hornsby.¹

     Elizabeth Bagge was born circa 1795 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Elizabeth was named in her grandmother's will on 7 November 1796 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as Elizabeth Bagge, the daughter of my son William Bagge by his first wife, in the will of Ann Bagge.² As of 12 June 1815,her married name was Floyd.¹ She married Benjamin Floyd, son of Berry (199) Floyd and Sarah 'Sally' Watson, on 12 June 1815 at Accomack Co, VA. Robins Mapp was the security on the M.L.B. of Benjamin Floyd and Elizabeth Bagg of Wm.¹ Elizabeth Bagge died before 6 September 1821. It was on this date that Benjamin Floyd, widower, married Mary Richardson of Chas.¹

     Rachel R. Garrison was born in 1797 at Accomack Co, VA.^1,3 As of 27 March 1816,her married name was Floyd.¹ She married Elijah Floyd, son of Berry (199) Floyd and Sarah 'Sally' Watson, on 27 March 1816 at Accomack Co, VA. Thomas Smith was the security on the M.L.B. of Elijah Floyd and Rachel Garrison of Jms.¹ Rachel was listed as a head of household in the census of 1840 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as Rachael Floyd a head of household. Listed with her were free white males: 2 "5 & under 10", 1 "20 & under 30"; free white females: 1 "20 & under 30", 1 "40 & under 50"; male slaves: 3 "under 10", 2 "10 & under 24", 1 "24 & under 36"; female slaves: 1 "under 10", 1 "10 & under 24", 1 "24 & under 36", 1 "55 & under 100"; 15 total; 8 "agriculture.⁴ Rachel was named in her son's will on 29 September 1840 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as my mother Rachel Floyd in the will of George H. Floyd.⁵ She died on 12 December 1866 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as Rachel R. Floyd who died of consumption at the age of 68, the widow of Elijah Floyd. Her son Jas. G. Floyd gave the information.^3,6 Rachel was buried at Floyd Burial Ground, Belle Haven, Acc Co, VA. Her tombstone shows her as Rachel R. Foyd, wife of E.(W.?), died 12 Dec 1866; age: 69 years.³

     Charles T. Floyd was born circa 1818 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Charles was named in his father's will on 9 January 1841 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as my son Charles T. Floyd in the will of Benjamin Floyd, wife Mary.¹

     John Henry Floyd was born on 13 October 1833 at Accomack Co, VA.^3,4 John was named in his uncle's will on 9 February 1839 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as John H. Floyd, a child of my sister Sally Floyd, in the will of John D. Roberts.⁵ John was named in his father's will on 9 January 1841 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as my son John H. Floyd in the will of Benjamin Floyd, wife Mary.² John was listed with his mother in the census of 1850 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as John Floyd, age 16 in HH#443 headed by James Powell, a 30 year old blacksmith. Also listed was Mary Floyd, age 52, who was evidently his mother.⁶ He married Fluvanna Parkes Underhill, daughter of Michael P. Underhill and Maria J. Nelson, on 20 October 1858 at Liberty Hall, Marionville, N'hamp Co, VA. He was shown as John H. Floyd, a 25 year old engineer, born in Acc Co & living in N'hamp Co, the son of Benj. & Mary Floyd and she was shown as Fluvanna P. Underhill, age 22, also born in Acc Co & living in N'hamp Co, the daughter of Michael P. & Maria Underhill.^7,1 John Henry Floyd died on 14 July 1909 at age 75.³ John was buried at Liberty Hall, Marionville, N'hamp Co, VA. His tombstone shows him as John H. Floyd, son of Benjamin & M.R., 13 Oct 1833 - 14 Jul 1909.³

     Eldred D. Floyd was born on 5 March 1836 at Accomack Co, VA.³ Eldred was named in his uncle's will on 9 February 1839 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as Eldred Floyd, a child of my sister Sally Floyd, in the will of John D. Roberts.⁴ Eldred was named in his father's will on 9 January 1841 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as my son Eldred Floyd in the will of Benjamin Floyd, wife Mary.² Eldred was listed with his mother in the census of 1850 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as Eldred Floyd, age 14 in HH#443 headed by James Powell, a 30 year old blacksmith. Also listed was Mary Floyd, age 52, who was evidently his mother.⁵ He married Emily S. Doughty on 10 January 1891 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as Eldred D. Floyd, a 55 year old single farmer, the son of Benj. & Mary Floyd and she was shown as Emily S. Bell, a 49 year old widow, the daughter of Michael Doughty.¹ Eldred D. Floyd died on 31 March 1897 at age 61.³ Eldred was buried at Red Bank, N'hamp Co, VA. His tombstone shows him as Eldred D. Floyd (h/o E.S.D.) & son of Benjamin & P.R., 5 Mar 1836 - 31 Mar 1897.³

     Sally T. Bradford was born circa 1788 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ As of circa 1810,her married name was Bell.² She married Felix Bell circa 1810.² Sally was named in her father's will on 9 June 1818 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as daughter Sally T. Bell in the will of Thomas A. Bradford, wife Aley. She was given my plantation called 'Lobster' and formerly belonged to John Onley & $700 in bonds.¹ Sally was named in her mother's will on 3 May 1824 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as Sally T. Bell in the will of Eley Bradford, widow of Thomas A. Bradford.³ She died before 31 August 1827. It was on this date that Thomas Edmunds was the security on the M.L.B. of Felix Bell and Sarah Green of George.⁴

     Felix Bell was born circa 1785.¹ He married Sally T. Bradford, daughter of Thomas A. (83C) Bradford and Eley P. 'Elcy or Aley' Bradford, circa 1810.¹ Felix Bell married Sarah S. Green on 31 August 1827 at Accomack Co, VA. Thomas Edmunds was the security on the M.L.B. of Felix Bell and Sarah Green of George.² Felix Bell died before 24 November 1828 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated.¹

     James Thomas Anders Bell was born circa 1812 at Accomack Co, VA.² James was named in his grandmother's will on 3 May 1824 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as grandson James Thomas A. Bell in the will of Eley Bradford, widow of Thomas A. Bradford.¹ James was named in his father's will on 20 December 1827 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as son James T.A. Bell (under age) in the will of Felix Bell. He was given plantation whereon I now live containing 400 acres, which includes the Smith Stringer lands & the lands that were my father's.²

     Sarah S. Green was born circa 1800.² Sarah witnessed a will on 3 May 1824 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date Sarah S. Green and Ann B. Green witnessed the will of Eley Bradford, widow of Thomas A. Bradford.¹ As of 31 August 1827,her married name was Bell.² She married Felix Bell on 31 August 1827 at Accomack Co, VA. Thomas Edmunds was the security on the M.L.B. of Felix Bell and Sarah Green of George.²

     George Floyd was born circa 1792 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ George was named in his father's will on 26 February 1818 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as my son George Floyd in the will of Frederick Floyd. He was given the plantation wherre I now live, all rights & interest in the Islands called Revells & Rogues.³ He married Maria Bradford, daughter of Thomas A. (83C) Bradford and Eley P. 'Elcy or Aley' Bradford, on 28 December 1818 at Accomack Co, VA. Thomas Smith of Joseph was the security on the M.L.B. of George Floyd of Frederick and Maria Stewart, widow of Levin G..¹ George Floyd was named in a division of land circa 1822 at Accomack Co, VA. After the death of Levin C. Stewart, the land (tract A66) was surveyed as 181 acres for a division between his heirs, given as Alsey A. Steward and George Floyd. (NOTE: George Floyd had married Levin C. Stewart's widow Maria.).⁴ He bought land in 1822 at Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that George Floyd bought 100 acres of tract A43 from Abel Bradford, son of Kendall Bradford.⁵ He died before 27 August 1827 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of George Floyd was granted to Maria Floyd & William Elliott with William R. Custis & Levin S. Joynes securities.⁶

     Comfort Downing was born circa 1780 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ As of 30 August 1800,her married name was Floyd.¹ She married Capt. Frederick Floyd, son of Berry Floyd and Esther Dalby, on 30 August 1800 at Northampton Co, VA. Johannes Johnson was the security on the M.L.B. of Frederick Floyd and Comfort Downing.¹

     George Floyd Nottingham was born circa 1816 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ George was named in his grandfather's will on 26 February 1818 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as my grandson George Nottinghan, child of my daughter Leah Nottingham, in the will of Frederick Floyd.¹ He died in 1874.²

     Elizabeth (-----) was born circa 1770.¹ She married Capt. Frederick Floyd, son of Berry Floyd and Esther Dalby, circa 1790. The Leah McA. Powell Wescott Bible shows Leah Floyd (1791-1866) was the daughter of Frederick & Elizabeth Floyd.¹ As of circa 1790,her married name was Floyd.¹

     Sally Jacob Nottingham was born on 21 October 1821 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ As of circa 1845,her married name was Powell.² She married John H.E. Powell circa 1845.² Sally Jacob Nottingham died on 2 February 1867 at age 45.¹ Sally was buried at Powell Plot, Mappsburg, Acc Co, VA. Her tombstone shows her as Sally J. Powell, wife of J.H. Powell, 21 Oct 1821 - 2 Feb 1867.¹

     John H.E. Powell was born on 24 May 1810.² He married Sally Jacob Nottingham, daughter of David B. Nottingham and Leah G. Floyd, circa 1845.¹ John H.E. Powell died on 20 April 1878 at age 67.² John was buried at Powell Plot, Mappsburg, Acc Co, VA. His tombstone shows him as John H. Powell (h/o S.J.), 24 May 1810 - 20 Apr 1878.²

     William was named in his grandmother's will on 3 May 1824 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as my grandson William Matthew Floyd in the will of Eley Bradford, widow of Thomas A. Bradford.¹ He was born circa 1825 at Accomack Co, VA.¹

     Elizabeth Esther Berry Floyd was born circa 1828 at Accomack Co, VA.² Elizabeth was named in her uncle's will on 21 December 1846 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as my niece Elizabeth Floyd in the will of James Glen, wife Kitturah.² As of circa 1850,her married name was Battimore.¹ She married Thomas Battimore circa 1850.¹

Powell, a child of my sister Sally Floyd, in the will of John D. Roberts.¹ James was listed as a head of household in the census of 1850 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as James Powell the head of HH#443, a 30 year old blacksmith. Listed with him were Mary Floyd, age 52; John Floyd, age 16; Eldred Floyd, age 14; Sarah Brickhouse, age 38; and Samuel Brickhouse, age 3.²

     Matilda S. Walter was born in 1803 at Accomack Co, VA.³ As of 25 March 1822,her married name was Floyd.¹ She married John Floyd, son of Berry (199) Floyd and Sarah 'Sally' Watson, on 25 March 1822 at Accomack Co, VA. Benjamin Stringer was the security on the M.L.B. of John Floyd and Matilda Walter of Richard Walters, who gave consent.¹ Matilda S.      Dr. James Berry Floyd was born circa 1823 at Accomack Co, VA.³ James was named in his grandfather's will on 29 December 1839 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as grandson Berry Floyd in the will of Richard Walter Sr.³ He married Charlotte Elizabeth Bayly, daughter of Edward L. Bayly and Pamela E.J. Powell, on 24 June 1863 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as James B. Floyd, a 35 year old single physician, the son of John & Matilda Floyd and she was shown as Charlotte E. Bayly, age 27 & single, the daughter of Edward L. & Pamela Bayly.²

     Alfred Napoleon 'A.N.' Floyd was born on 24 September 1830 at Accomack Co, VA.² Alfred was named in his grandfather's will on 29 December 1839 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as grandson Alfred Napoleon Floyd in the will of Richard Walter Sr.¹ He died on 16 April 1850 at age 19.² Alfred was buried at Quinby Cemetery, Acc Co, VA.      James G. Floyd was born on 31 January 1831 at Accomack Co, VA.² James was named in his father's will on 28 March 1837 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as my son James G. Floyd in the will of Elijah Floyd, grandson of Elijah Watson.³ James was named in his brother's will on 29 September 1840 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as my brother James Floyd in the will of George H. Floyd, son of Rachel Floyd.⁴ He married Elizabeth Martha Jane Sturgis, daughter of Thomas P. Sturgis and Esther W. 'Hester' Dixon, on 17 November 1853 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as James G. Floyd, a 25 year old farmer, the son of Elijah Floyd and she was shown as Eliz'th M. Sturgis, age 18, the daughter of Thomas Sturgis. Turman's book shows her as Elizabeth Jane Sturgis, ward of Lewis L. Snead.^1,5 James G. Floyd died on 27 March 1911 at age 80.² James was buried at Onancock Cemetery, Onancock, Acc Co, VA. His tombstone shows him as James G. Floyd, husband of E.M. Floyd, 31 Jan 1831 - 27 Mar 1911.²

     Duke Dunton was born circa 1775 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Molly Floyd (widow?) on 20 February 1804 at Accomack Co, VA. Benjamin Potter was the security on the M.L.B. of Duke Dunton and Molly Floyd.¹

     Sarah Green was born circa 1750 at Northampton Co, VA.³ As of 12 June 1768,her married name was Robins.^4,3 She married Joshua (29) Robins, son of Arthur [49] Robins (II) and Margaret (17) Harmanson, on 12 June 1768 at Northampton Co, VA.^4,3 As of 22 December 1790,her married name was Floyd.¹ Sarah Green married Rev. Matthew Floyd, son of Berry Floyd and Esther Dalby, on 22 December 1790 at Northampton Co, VA. Coventon Simpkins was the security on the M.L.B. of Matthew Floyd and Sarah Robins, widow.³ Sarah Green died before 30 June 1823.⁵

     William Green was born circa 1725.¹

     Lucy Wilkins was born circa 1765 at Northampton Co, VA. As of circa 1785,her married name was Floyd.² She married Rev. Matthew Floyd, son of Berry Floyd and Esther Dalby, circa 1785.² Lucy Wilkins died before 22 December 1790.³

     Thomas Battimore was born circa 1825 at Norfolk, VA.¹ He married Elizabeth Esther Berry Floyd, daughter of Rev. Matthew Floyd and Elizabeth 'Betsy or Lizzie' Glenn, circa 1850.¹

     Edward Isdell was born circa 1750.¹ He married Elizabeth Tankard, daughter of John Tankard and Mary Thomas, between 1786 and 1787. Wm. Roberts was the security on the M.L.B. of Edward Esdell and Elizabeth Floyd, widow of Charles Floyd.¹

     George H. Floyd was born on 24 November 1818 at Northampton Co, VA.² George was named in his father's will on 28 March 1837 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as my son George H. Floyd in the will of Elijah Floyd, grandson of Elijah Watson.¹ George made a will on 29 September 1840 at Northampton Co, VA. I lend to my mother Rachel Floyd as long as she shall remain my father's widow the whole of my estate. In the event of her marriage or death I give to my brother James Floyd all my land in Accomack County by his paying fifteen hundred dollars to my brother Richard Floyd. I give to my brother Richard my undivided interest in the land in Northampton which I heired from my sister Mary Ann Floyd. Should James die before the death of my mother or before he should arrive to the age of twenty one years it is my wish and desire that Richard should have the whole of the land above mentioned. In the event of the death of Richard before the death of my mother or before he should arrive at the age of twenty one years it is my wish that James should have the whole of the land & money. All the rest of my estate to be equally divided between my sister Sally & brothers James & Richard. Signed, George H. Floyd. Witnesses: W. W. Cutler and James R. Garrison.³ George was buried at Floyd Burial Ground, Belle Haven, Acc Co, VA. His tombstone shows him as George H. Floyd, 24 Nov 1818 - 25 Mar 1841; age: 22/4/4.² He died on 25 March 1841 at Northampton Co, VA, at age 22.² He estate was settled on 8 August 1842. James R. Garrison administrator. Bond $6,000.      Sally Jacob Watson Floyd was born in 1820 at Northampton Co, VA.³ Sally was named in her father's will on 28 March 1837 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as my daughter Sally J.W. Floyd in the will of Elijah Floyd, grandson of Elijah Watson.² Sally was named in her brother's will on 29 September 1840 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as my sister Sally in the will of George H. Floyd, son of Rachel Floyd.⁴ As of 23 February 1843,her married name was Bruff.⁵ She married John W. Bruff on 23 February 1843 at Northampton Co, VA. James R. Garrison was the security on the M.L.B. of John W. Bruff and Miss Sarah J.W. Floyd. John was born 7 Apr 1818, the s/o Joseph Bruff, Bayside, Talbot Co, MD and Sarah was the daughter of Elijah Floyd dec'd.⁵ Sally Jacob Watson Floyd died on 23 October 1887 at St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Sallie J. Bruff who died of paralysis at the age of 67 years. She was the daughter of Elijah & Rachel Floyd, born in N'hamp Co, a lady & widow. Her son-in-law John W. Corbin gave the information.³

     Richard Edward Floyd was born on 18 June 1833 at Northampton Co, VA.^1,3 Richard was named in his father's will on 28 March 1837 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as my son Richard E. Floyd in the will of Elijah Floyd, grandson of Elijah Watson.¹ Richard was named in his brother's will on 29 September 1840 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as my brother Richard Floyd in the will of George H. Floyd, son of Rachel Floyd.⁴ He married Mary Frances 'Fanny' Tankard on 14 April 1858 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as Richard Floyd, a 25 year old farmer, born in Acc Co & living in N'hamp Co, the son of Elijah & Rachel Floyd and she was shown as Mary Frances Tankard, age 17, the daughter of John & Susan Tankard.⁵ Richard Edward Floyd died on 18 June 1859 at age 26.³ Richard was buried at Floyd Burial Ground, Belle Haven, Acc Co, VA. His tombstone shows him as Richard E. Floyd, 18 Jun 1833 - 18 Jun 1859.³

     Mary Ann Floyd was born on 3 February 1836 at Northampton Co, VA.² Mary was named in her father's will on 28 March 1837 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as my daughter Mary Ann Floyd in the will of Elijah Floyd, grandson of Elijah Watson.¹ She died on 19 September 1837 at age 1.² Mary was buried at Floyd Burial Ground, Belle Haven, Acc Co, VA. Her tombstone shows her as Mary A. Floyd, 3 Feb 1836 - 19 Sep 1837; age: 1/8/10.² Administration of Mary estate was filed on 12 February 1838 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Mary Ann Floyd was granted to James R. Garrison, her mother Rachel R. Floyd relinquished her rights. Bond $5,000. Appraisers: Edmund Roberts, Teackle W. Jacob, George S. Christian and William W. Cutler. No administration records.³

     John E. Floyd was born on 18 January 1826 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ He died on 26 March 1831 at Northampton Co, VA, at age 5.¹ John was buried at Floyd Burial Ground, Belle Haven, Acc Co, VA. His tombstone shows him as John E. Floyd, 18 Jan 1826 - 26 Mar 1831; age: 5/2/8.¹

     Mary Ann Floyd was born on 6 October 1823 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ She died on 3 October 1826 at Northampton Co, VA, at age 2.¹ Mary was buried at Floyd Burial Ground, Belle Haven, Northampton Co, VA. Her tombstone shows her as Mary A. Floyd, 6 Oct 182? - 3 Oct 182(6?); age: 2 years (stone broken).¹

     Ella Dennis was born on 3 April 1873.¹ As of circa 1900,her married name was Floyd.¹ She married Dr. George Frederick Floyd, son of Dr. George Frederick Floyd and Catharine S. Elliott, circa 1900.^1,2 Ella Dennis died on 21 December 1940 at age 67.¹ Ella was buried at Elliott-Floyd Cemetery, Locustville, Acc Co, VA. Her tombstone shows her as Ella Dennis Floyd, wife of G.F. Floyd, 3 Apr 1873 - 21 Dec 1940.¹

     Ella Floyd was born on 3 May 1854 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She died on 17 July 1855 at Accomack Co, VA, at age 1. She was shown as Ella Floyd who died 17 Jun 1855 in the 2nd District of dysentery at the age of 1 yr 7 mon. She was the daughter of Fred & Cath Floyd. Her father gave the information.^1,2 Ella was buried at Elliott-Floyd Cemetery, Locustville, Acc Co, VA. Her tombstone shows her as Ella Floyd, daughter of Fred & Catherine S. Floyd, 3 May 1854 - 17 Jul 1855.¹

     Emma S. Floyd was born on 7 April 1844 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She died on 12 August 1845 at Accomack Co, VA, at age 1.¹ Emma was buried at Bell-Floyd Cemetery, Quimby, Acc Co, VA. Her tombstone shows her as Emma S. Floyd, d/o T.F. & M.E. Floyd, 7 Apr 1844 - 12 Aug 1845; age: 1/4/5.¹
