     William Groten II (carpenter) was born circa 1725 at Accomack Co, VA.³ He bought land in 1746 at tract A35, Pungoteague Creek, Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Henry Gascoyne, as son and heir of Thomas, sold 121 acres to William Groton. The bounds were exactly the same as for the 280 acres which previously had been sold by Middleton, so perhaps the land had never been surveyed heretofore and a deficiency of nearly 50% had developed. In 1774 he left to his son William "the plantation where I now live," containing 125 acres, so it was evidently the same land he had bought from Gascoyne. In 1777 his son William left to his brother Zerobabel Groten "the plantation where my mother and I live, containing 175 acres," and his will also contained this item: "The public house with the privileges now belonging to it to be enjoyed by Benjamin Hutcheson for the present year and the year following, he accounting for it at the rate he now give of £30 year."^4,2 He married Amy (-----) circa 1748.⁵ William Groten II (carpenter) bought land in 1753 at Atkinson part of tract A35, Pungoteague Creek, Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Whittington & Lisia Bayly were joined by their son Edmund in a sale to Major Rowles and 3 years later (1756) he and his wife Elizabeth sold to William Groten, but the next year he and his wife Amey sold back to Roles.⁶ On 27 Feb 1753 in Accomack County court a lease from Edmund Polson to William Groten Jr was proved by witnesses Bartholomew Taylor and Gilbert Hoffington.⁷ On 27 Mar 1753 in Accomack County court William Groten Jr was licensed to keep an ordinary at his house for a year.⁸ He bought land in 1754 at tract A39, Pungoteague, Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Thomas Johnson and his wife Rachel resold to William Groten Jr., together with 50 acres which he had bought from Henry Bayly. Then in 1760 Hillary Beloat of Bluford County, NC, sold the north 50 acres to William Groten Jr. and the south 50 acres to Caleb Ames.⁹ He bought land in 1759 at tract A35, Pungoteague Creek, Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Esther Lecatt, wife of Charles, gave a deed of release to William Groten for 102 acres which "he had purchased of Charles Lecatt." The land was at the southeastern or lower end of the tract. In 1774 Groten left to his son William, who 3 years later left to his brother Jonathan. In 1784 Jonathan sold to Thomas Jacob, and 10 years later he resold to Samuel Trader, who was accumulating land in that vicinity.¹⁰ He was security on the administration of an estate on 29 May 1759 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of William Meers was granted to to Mary Darby with Charles Bagwell and William Groten Jr. securities.¹ He bought land in 1765 at tract A54, Pungoteague Creek, Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Henry & Elizabeth Scarburgh sold 182 aces to William Groten; it was the end of the panhandle section of the tract and the part which is east of the present bayside road; it was bounded on the northeast by A62, on the southeast by A53, and on the southwest by the head-branch of Pungoteague Creek. In 1777 Groten left to his brother Zerobabel and in 1786 he and his wife Ann sold to William Read. (NOTE: It was probably this William's son William who left this land to his brother Zerobabel.).¹¹ William was named in his father's will before 27 August 1771 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as my son William and named Extr in the will of William Groten, wife Mary.³ William made a will on 24 September 1774 at Accomack Co, VA. To son William Groten plantation where I now live, also the plantation I bought of Charles Lecatt, containing together 227 acres. To son Edmund Groten (under age). To son Major Groten my two plantations commonly called Johnsons & Belotes, containing 200 acres. To son Zorobabel Groten (under age) my plantation called Turlingtons, containing 184 acres. To son Jonathan (under age) my plantation called Niblets, containing 175 acres. Daughter Margaret Hutchinson. To daughter Patience Groten. Daughter Amy Groten. Wife Amy Groten to have use of balance of my estate during her life & then to be divided between my 6 children, viz: Margaret, Patience, Zerrobabel, Jonathan, Amy & Edmund. Wife Amy & friend William Joyce Exrs. Witt: William Welsh, Levin Joyne, John Rowles.⁵ He died before 29 November 1774 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated.⁵

     Ritter Martin was born circa 1752 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Ritter was named in her father's will on 10 May 1761 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as daughter Ritter Martin in the will of Peter Martin, wife Margaret.¹ As of circa 1770,her married name was Mason.² She married (-----) Mason circa 1770.² Ritter was named in her mother's will on 2 September 1778 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as my daughter Ritter Mason in the will of Margaret Dawson.²

     Benjamin Haley was born circa 1740 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Benjamin made a will on 6 May 1787 at Accomack Co, VA. To son William Haley plantation where I now live. Son William & Spencer Kellam Exrs. Witt: Peter Wise, Robert Haley.¹ He died before 31 July 1787 at Accomack Co, VA.¹

     Thomas Addison Sr. was born circa 1700 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ He married Sabra (-----) circa 1725 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ Thomas made a will on 17 October 1748 at Northampton Co, VA. To my son Thomas my 140 A. plantation where I now live but not to disturb his mother during her widowhood (only where he now lives on), and for want of his heirs to my son Arthur. To wife Sabrah use of entire estate during her widowhood except a cow and yearling to my son Littleton. To dau. Peggy Addison one spinning foot wheel, chest, feather bed, pewter dish and pewter basin. To my son Arthur my low chest of drawers, my own shooting gun, two pewter dishes and saddle. To my dau. Rachel Addison a feather bed, foot wheel, and two pewter basins. Resid. legatees my five children Sarah Bradford, Littleton Addison, Peggy Addison, Arthur Addison and Rachel Addison and my wife. Wife extrx. Witt: Thomas Abdeel, Andrew Andrews, Obedience 'O' Parimore, John Eshon.¹ He died before 12 March 1750 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated.¹

     Sabra (-----) was born circa 1700 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ She married Thomas Addison Sr. circa 1725 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ As of circa 1725,her married name was Addison.¹ Sabra was named in her husband's will on 17 October 1748 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as my wife Sabra in the will of Thomas Addison Sr.¹

     Littleton Addison was born circa 1732 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ Littleton was named in his father's will on 17 October 1748 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as son Littleton in the will of Thomas Addison Sr., wife Sabra.¹ He married Rosanna 'Rosey' Turner, daughter of John Furbush Turner and (-----) (-----), circa 1788 at Northampton Co, VA.² Littleton made a will on 12 January 1789 at Northampton Co, VA. To my son Thomas the land I now live on and 3 cider casks. To my loving wife Rosanna one spinning wheel, the mare I had of Crippen, and the loan of n. fellow Aaron during her widowhood and then to my son Levi. To my dau. Susanna Addison new spinning wheel. To my son Littleton my stock-buckle. Remaining estate to be eq. div. by my wife, my son William Addison, Rose, Rachel, Polly, Sabra, Susanna, Levi and Littleton and the child my wife is now with.      Isaac Ross (Rose?) was born circa 1750 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ He married Rosanna 'Rosey' Turner, daughter of John Furbush Turner and (-----) (-----), on 15 April 1793 at Northampton Co, VA. Wm. Stith was the security on the M.L.B. of Isaac Rose and Rosey Rose, widow.¹

     (h/o_Rosey) Ross was born circa 1750. He married Rosanna 'Rosey' Turner, daughter of John Furbush Turner and (-----) (-----), circa 1778.

     Jesse Ross was born circa 1787 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ He was the security on a M.L.B. On 2 March 1808 at Northampton Co, VA.² Jesse was named in his mother's will on 26 November 1811 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as son Jesse Ross and given 1 shilling in the will of Rosey Ross.¹

     Severn Ross was born circa 1794 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ Severn was named in his father's will on 16 November 1794 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as a child called Severn Ross, but not baptised, which I had by Rosey Ross, in the will of Severn Kellam. If he marries and has a child to live to be a month old, I give my land to the said Severn forever. If he is alive at the end of 10 years he is to have the rents of my land during his life.¹ He sold land in 1843 at Baltimore, MD. According to Whitelaw (N113) the descent of title of his land is uncertain, but in 1843 a Severn Ross of Baltimore gave a mortgage on a half interest in 130 aces of David Ross land; which was foreclosed the next year and sold to Richard J. Ayres. In 1844 Susan Ross mortgaged the other half, and while a foreclosure was not noted, that interest also passed into the possession of Ayres.²

     Betsy Kellam was born circa 1782 at Accomack Co, VA.^1,3 Betsy was named in her father's will on 13 September 1783 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as a daughter Betsy in the will of John Kellam.³ Betsy was named in her father's will on 13 September 1783 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as daughter Betsy in the will of John Kellam.³ As of circa 1798,her married name was Milby.¹ She married Gilbert Milby, son of John Milby, circa 1798.¹ Betsy Kellam sold land in 1810 at Accomack Co, VA. In 1810 when Hutchinson Kellam and his wife Sarah sold their part of tract A5 (between Belle Haven & Quinby) to George S. Savage, the deed incuded another 175 acres, which must have been the original John Savage third of the tract. In that deed Hutchinson and Sarah Kellam were joined by other Kellam heirs: Custis Kellam, femme sole, and Betsy Milby, widow of Gilbert Milby; it recited that the land had belonged to their grandmother and had descended to them upon the death of their father John Kellam in 1785. Unfortunately, neither the name of the grandmother nor the first name of her husband was given, but possibly she had been the sole heir of the John Savage who had inherited this part in 1717 from his father Roland Savage. (Note: An indepth look into this relationship shows that John Savage named 3 young chirldren in his will of 1728: Charles, Patience and Mary. The John Kellam, who died in 1785, was the son of Joseph and Patience Kellam, thus this Patience, mother of John Kellam, was certainly the daughter named in the will of 1728.).²

     Mary (-----) was born circa 1690.² As of circa 1710,her married name was Savage.² She married John Savage, son of Rowland Savage I and Mary (-----), circa 1710.² Mary was named in her husband's will on 29 December 1728 at Accomack Co, MD. She was shown only as my wife in the will of John Savage.² She was named as the executor of a will on 1 September 1730 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Mary Savage (Extr of John Savage dec'd) swore to the will which was proved by the oaths of John Foscew, Richard Savage & William Harman.¹

     Charles Savage was born circa 1720 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Charles was named in his father's will on 29 December 1728 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as my son Charles (under 18) in the will of John Savage, wife no name.¹

     Patience Savage was born circa 1722 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Patience was named in her father's will on 29 December 1728 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as my daughter Patience Savage in the will of John Savage, wife no name.¹ She married Joseph Kellam, son of Nathaniel Kellam and Elizabeth (-----), circa 1740 at Accomack Co.² As of circa 1740,her married name was Kellam.²

     Mary Savage was born circa 1724 at Accomack Co, VA.¹

     Elizabeth (-----) was born circa 1690 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She married Nathaniel Kellam, son of William Kellam and Sarah 'Sary' White, circa 1710.¹ As of circa 1740,her married name was Kellam.

     Custis Kellam Jr. was born in 1780 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Custis was named in his father's will on 13 September 1783 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as son Custis Kellam (under 21) in the will of John Kellam.² He married Leah B. Dunton, daughter of George Dunton, 15 Nov 1798 (lic) at Worcester Co, MD. They were shown as Curtis Kellam and Leah Dunton.³ Custis Kellam Jr. sold land in 1810 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that it was recorded that a certain Custis Kellam by deed dated 4 Dec. 1807 mortgaged to your orator a certain lot of ground at Bell Haven in this County, containing 1/5 acre; that some time after this, to-wit: on the ____ day of March, 1811, the said Custis Kellam departed this life intestate leaving the following children, Allen, Eliza, George & Sarah, Katharine & Ann Kellam and Leah B. Kellam his widow, &c.⁵

     Stephen Kellam was born circa 1808 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Stephen was named in his father's will on 29 March 1816 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as son Stephen Kellum in the will of Charles Kellum, wife Sally.² He married Elizabeth Joynes 10 May 1845 (bond) at Northampton Co, VA. Edward Rayfield was the security on the M.L.B. of Stephen Kellam & Eliz Belote, widow of Benjamin Belote.³ Stephen was listed as a head of household in the census of 1860 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as Stephen Kellum the head of HH#687, a 52 year old farmer. Listed with him were Margaret Kellam, age 45 and Peggy Kellam, age 7.⁴ Stephen made a will in 1865 at Northampton Co, VA. It was in this year that Stephen Kellam left his portion of tract N113 to a daughter Margaret Elizabeth.¹

     Leah B. Dunton was born circa 1775.¹ Leah was named in her father's will on 24 September 1792 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as daughter Leah Dunton in the will of George Dunton, wife no name.³ As of 15 November 1798,her married name was Kellam.^1,4 She married Custis Kellam Jr., son of John (of Jos) Kellam and (-----) (-----), 15 Nov 1798 (lic) at Worcester Co, MD. They were shown as Curtis Kellam and Leah Dunton.⁴ Leah was named as an heir on 30 November 1814 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as Leah B. Kellam, the widow of Custis Kellam, who died in Mar 1811.²

     George Dunton was born circa 1740.¹ George made a will on 24 September 1792 at Accomack Co, VA. To son Isaac land where I now live. Bal. of estate to 3 daughters Leah, Caty & Nancy. Should my wife be with child said child to share equally with my 3 daughters Wife to have use of whole estate to support my children during her widow Friend Christopher Satchell & brother Carvey Dunton Exrs. Witt: Thomas Parker, Edmund Scarburgh, Charles Scarburgh. According to Whitelaw 4 years after his death the land was surveyed as 122 acres for a division and Caty Dunton got 20 acres on the bay shore, Nancy Dunton got the next 57 1/4 acres and Leah Kellam (wife of Custis Kellam) got the last part of 44 3/4 acres.^1,2 He died before 25 November 1793 at Accomack Co, VA.¹

     John Pitts was born circa 1750 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ John was named as an heir on 16 December 1773 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as John Pitts in the will of John Sill. He was given the remainder of my land adjacent America Sturgis. He also named William Pitts.¹

     Adam Muir was born circa 1700.¹ He married Francina Hack, daughter of Capt. George Hack and Sarah Presson, circa 1730.¹ Adam made a will on 2 August 1770 at Accomack Co, VA. To wife Francina land where I now live, formerly purchased by her father George Hack, containing 1416 acres, to her & her heirs forever. To son Adam Muir. To daughters Elizabeth, Ann, Sarah & Margaret. Bal. of est to wife to pay my debts, & the remainder to be disposed of as she thinks proper. Wife Exec. Witt: Baly Reade, Walter Hatton, Henry Martin.² He died before 25 August 1772 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated.²

     Walter Hatton Sr. was born circa 1730 at England.¹ He married Margaret Muir, daughter of Adam Muir and Francina Hack, circa 1765.¹ Walter witnessed a will on 2 August 1770 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Baly Reade, Walter Hatton & Henry Martin witnessed the will of Adam Muir, wife Francina.² He died before 26 May 1784 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Walter Hatten was granted to Abraham Outten with William Snead & John Gootee securities.³

     Adam Muir was born circa 1732 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Adam was named in his father's will on 2 August 1770 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as son Adam Muir in the will of Adam Muir, wife Francina.¹ He died before 10 December 1783 at Accomack Co, VA. He was dec'd by this date for at probate of his mother, Francina Muir's estate, James Muir, orphan of Adam Muir, was named heir-at-law.²

     Sarah 'Sally' Muir was born circa 1738 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Sarah was named in her father's will on 2 August 1770 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as daughter Sarah in the will of Adam Muir, wife Francina.¹ Sarah was named in her mother's will on 10 December 1783 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as daughter Sarah Muir in the will of Francina Muir, widow of Adam Muir.² Sarah was named in her nephew's will on 11 September 1799 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as aunt Sally Muir in the will of Walter Hatton.³

     Elizabeth Muir was born circa 1734 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Elizabeth was named in her father's will on 2 August 1770 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as daughter Elizabeth in the will of Adam Muir, wife Francina.¹ Elizabeth was named in her mother's will on 10 December 1783 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as daughter Elizabeth Muir in the will of Francina Muir, widow of Adam Muir.² Elizabeth was named in her nephew's will on 11 September 1799 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as aunt Elizabeth Muir in the will of Walter Hatton.³

     James Muir was born circa 1770 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ James was named in his grandmother's will before 10 December 1783 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as James Muir, son of Adam Muir, in the will of Francina Muir, widow of Adam Muir. At probate he was shown as James Muir, orphan of Adam Muir, heir-at-law to the testatrix, who appeared by George Corbin his guardian.¹

     Walter Hatton Jr. was born on 15 November 1766 at Accomack Co, VA.² Walter was named in his grandmother's will on 10 December 1783 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as my grandson Walter Hatton (under 21) in the will of Francina Muir, widow of Adam Muir. She gave him the 1416 acres formerly possessed by her father George Hack, afther the deaths of her 3 daughters Elizabeth, Anne & Sarah Muir.¹ Walter made a will on 11 September 1799 at Accomack Co, VA. The plantation whereon I now live (which I claim from the will of my grandmother Francena Muir), after the death of my 3 aunts Elizabeth, Ann & Sally Muir, to sister Ann Hatton ½ of the high land at the upper end & to include the house where I now live & lying on Pungoteague Creek & ½ of the marsh belonging to the plantation. To sister Margaret Kellam the other half of the land & at her death to her youngest son John Kellam provided he comes to lawful age & if he dies before age 21 or without issue, then to my sister Ann Hatton & to my sister Ann Hatton the other ½ of the marsh & Negroes Jim, Peter & Rosey & their increase until they arrive to age 31, then to be free & their descendants to be free at age 31. To sister Ann Hatton for the use of my nephew Thomas Hatton Kellam until he arrives to age 21 when he is to have then free of the trust of my sister the following Negroes: Luory & Jenny & Sarah, George & Joe & their increase until age 31. To aunts Elizabeth, Ann & Sally Muir my Negro woman Judy for 4 years & then to be free & her children or increase are to be free at the same time. Remainder to sister Ann Hatton.      Mary Hatton was born on 21 December 1769 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She died on 21 December 1773 at Accomack Co, VA, at age 4.¹ Mary was buried at Evergreen, Hacks Neck, Accomack Co, VA. Her tombstone shows her as Mary Hatton, daughter of Walter Hatton Sr. & Marg't, who died 21 Dec 1773, age 4 years, 0 months and 0 days.¹

Geo. Parrott was the security on the M.L.B. of Hill Dorsey and Elizabeth B. Jacob. Hill was of Anne Arundel Co, MD and Elizabeth was the daughter of Rob't & Elizabeth Jacob. John K. Evans her guardian gave consent. Wm. H. Dorsey appointed guardian to Hill on 11 Jul 1807 in Arundel Co, MD who gave consent. Jonathan Harvey was a witness.³ As of 22 January 1819,her married name was Kellam.¹ Elizabeth Bell Jacob married Col. Thomas Hatton Kellam I, son of Capt. John Kellam and Margaret Hatton, on 22 January 1819 at Northampton Co, VA. Peter Bowdoin was the security on the M.L.B. of Thomas H. Kellam and Elizabeth B. Dorsey. They were married on 23 Jan 1819.³ Elizabeth Bell Jacob was named in the settlement of her father's estate on 12 January 1824 at Northampton Co, VA. Thomas H. Kellam and Eilzabeth his wife were shown as heirs in the settlement of the estate of Robert Jacob, John K. Evans Extr.⁴ She died on 26 December 1835 at age 42.¹ Elizabeth was buried at Evergreen, Hacks Neck, Acc Co, VA.¹ Administration of Elizabeth estate was filed on 26 September 1836 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Elizabeth B. Kellam was granted to Thomas H. Kellam Sr. with James Kellam (of A.) & George P. Scarburgh securities.⁵

     Hill Dorsey was born circa 1790.¹ He married Elizabeth Bell Jacob, daughter of Col. Robert C. Jacob and Elizabeth Hack, on 13 October 1812 at Northampton Co, VA. Geo. Parrott was the security on the M.L.B. of Hill Dorsey and Elizabeth B. Jacob. Hill was of Anne Arundel Co, MD and Elizabeth was the daughter of Rob't & Elizabeth Jacob. John K.      Sally Thomas was born circa 1800 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ She married Arthur James Jacob I, son of Esau Jacob and Margaret 'Peggy' Joynes, 13 Feb 1822 (bond) at Northampton Co, VA. John K. Floyd was the security on the M.L.B. of Arthur Jacob and Sally Thomas. They were married on 14 Feb 1822.¹ As of 13 February 1822,her married name was Jacob.¹

     (-----) (-----) was born circa 1680. She married Richard Savage, son of Rowland Savage I and Mary (-----), circa 1700. As of circa 1700,her married name was Savage.

     Francis Savage was born circa 1702 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Rose (-----) circa 1730 at Accomack Co, VA.² Francis was named in his father's will on 2 May 1739 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as son Francis Savage in the will of Richard Savage. He was given plantation where I now live, also 50 acres adjacent to Hewit Smith.¹

     Richard Savage Jr. was born circa 1704 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married (d/o_Eliz_&_Wm) Roberts, daughter of William Roberts II and Elizabeth Eastmead, circa 1725 at Northampton Co, VA.² Richard was named in his brother's will on 13 May 1729 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as my brother Richard Savage in the will of Jacob Roberts, wife Esther. He was given my plantation until my son William is 21 and then to my son William. In case my wife Esther cannot keep my son William then my brother-in-law Richard Savage to keep him until he attains lawful age. (NOTE: Richard had probably married a dec'd sister of Jacob Roberts.).³ Richard was named in his mother's will on 27 April 1731 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as my son Richard Savidge in the will of Elizabeth Roberts, widow. (NOTE: He was probably a son-in-law, who had married a dec'd daughter.).² At the Jan 1734/35 N'hamp Court, Richard Savage Jr. was on a list of those the Grand Jury charged with swearing one oath. The Sub Sheriff John Savage reported that Richard Savage Jr. was not found in his bailiwick.⁴ Richard was named in his father's will on 2 May 1739 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as son Richard Savage in the will of Richard Savage. He was given 150 acres purchased of James Smith.¹ At the Feb 1739/40 N'hamp Court, Richard Savidg was on a list of inhabitants signing Matthew Harmanson's, Gent, petition to clear a new road in Hungars Neck to go from Bay to Sea.⁵ At the Feb 1740/41 N'hamp Court the Grand Jury presented Richard Savage of Acc Co for swearing oaths.⁶ He married Hannah Bell, daughter of Ezekiel Bell and Rachel (-----), circa 1745 at Northampton Co, VA.⁷ Richard was named in his father-in-law's will on 14 March 1751 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as Richard Savage, husband of my daughter Hannah Savage, in the will of Ezekiel Bell, wife Anne.⁷

     Tabitha Savage was born circa 1707 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ As of circa 1730,her married name was Walter.² She married Solomon Walter, son of John Walter II and Sarah Darby, circa 1730.² Tabitha was named as administrator of an estate on 9 December 1735 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Solomon Walter was granted to Tabitha Walter relict of the dec'd.² As of circa 1736,her married name was Clark.³ She married Blake Clark, son of Thomas Clark, circa 1736.³ Tabitha was named in her husband's will on 29 November 1737 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as the widow Tabitha Clark when she qualified to settle the estate of Blake Clark.⁴ As of 1738,her married name was Fletcher.⁵ She married Read Fletcher in 1738.⁶ Tabitha was named in her father's will on 2 May 1739 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as daughter Tabitha Fletcher in the will of Richard Savage.¹ She sold land in 1752 at Northampton Co, VA. In 1729 John & Mary Walter deeded the south 160 acres of tract N65 to Solomon Walter, whose relationship to them was not determined. Solomon died intestate leaving a son of the same name and a widow Tabitha, who married Read Fletcher. In 1752 young Solomon sold 25 acres to William Dunton and the next year the balance of 135 acres, after Read & Tabitha Fletcher released her downer interest to both Solomon & Dunton. Dunton shortly sold 54 acres in the northeast corner to a John Walter.⁷ She died before 28 July 1774 at Accomack Co, VA.      John Fletcher was born circa 1739 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ John was named as administrator of an estate on 29 April 1772 at Accomack Co, VA.      Blake Clark was born circa 1700 at Accomack Co, VA. He married Tabitha Savage, daughter of Richard Savage and (-----) (-----), circa 1736.¹ Blake made a will on 29 November 1737 at Accomack Co, VA. His left a verbal will. Whole estate to wife (no name) Proved by William Ames & Bartholomew Mears. Tabitha Clark, widow, qualified.³ He died before 7 December 1737. It was on this date that his will was probated.³

He was shown as son Solomon (under 21) in the will of John Walter Sr.² He received land as a gift in 1729 at Northampton Co, VA. Peggy Clarke, the will named extrx., refused her legacies.^1,2

     Kaziah Clark was born circa 1738 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ Kaziah was named in her father's will on 7 February 1745/46 at Northampton Co, VA. She was given my 100 acre plantation in Accomack.¹ Kaziah was named in her brother-in-law's will on 27 August 1786 at Accomack Co, VA.      Tabitha Fletcher was born circa 1743 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ As of circa 1765,her married name was Hancock.¹ She married (-----) Hancock circa 1765.¹ Tabitha was named in her mother's will on 28 July 1774 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as my daughter Tabitha Handcock in the will of Tabitha Fletcher.¹

It was in this year that Elizabeth Roberts, widow of William Roberts, gave to her son Jacob the 200 aces which she had inherited from her father Thomas Eastmead. In 1730 Jaocb Roberts (wife Esther) left in trust with his brother (brother-in-law) Richard Savage until a son William Roberts became of age. She was evidently dec'd by this date as her mother Elizabeth Roberts named a son (meaning son-in-law) Richard Savage in her will. Two years earlier her brother Jacob Roberts named a brother-in-law Richard Savage to keep his son if his wife could not care for him.²
