Solomon Kellam I was born circa 1720 at Accomack Co, VA.1 He married Keziah Parker, daughter of Sacker Parker and Leah Laylor, circa 1745. There is not direct proof that Solomon Kellam's 1st marriage was to Keziah Parker, or even someone with the given name Keziah. The Accomack County deed book indexes does not show a Solomon Kellam either buying or selling land before 1800, so we could not find a wife releasing her dower rights. However in trying to find why he named a son Sacker there is at least this one scenario (there could be others) that he had married this Keziah Parker. Her father was named Sacker Parker and his mother was Bridget Sacker and she had a brother named Sacker Parker. She also had a sister Sinah Parker, that would have been another candiate for the mother of Sacker Kellem, but Sinah was named as Sinah Parker in the will of her uncle Bayly Johnson in 26 Mar 1761, which was after the birth of Sacker Kellam. On 30 May 1753 Solomon Kellam vs. Isaiah Johnson was agreed and dismissed.3 Solomon was named as administrator of an estate on 30 March 1763 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Peter Kellam was granted to Solomon Kellam with Jonathan Kellam & John Kellam securities.4 He was named in a guardian account on 28 August 1764 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Solomon Kellam presented a guardian account for Thomas Kellam, which included schooling board &c. (NOTE: Thomas was evidently the son of Peter Kellam, as Solomon Kellam had been granted administaration on the estate of Peter Kellam on 30 Mar 1763.).5 He was named in a guardian account on 26 August 1766 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Solomon Kellam presented a guardian account for Thomas Kellam, which included schooling and rent of the plantation.6 He married Matilda Scarburgh, daughter of Mitchell [35] Scarburgh I and Dorothy Wainhouse, circa 1767.1 Solomon Kellam I was named in a guardian account on 25 August 1767 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Solomon Kellam presented a guardian account for Thomas Kellam, which included schooling and rent of the plantation.7 He was named in a guardian account on 26 August 1767 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Solomon Kellam presented a guardian account for Sarah (board & schooling), Scarburgh, Susy & Nancy Stewart.8 Solomon made a will on 15 August 1768 at Accomack Co, VA. Wife Matilda Kellam sole legatee & Exec. Witt: Littleton Scarburgh Major, Leven Green.1 He was named in a guardian account on 31 August 1768 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Solomon Kellam presented a guardian account for Sarah, Scarburgh, Nancy & Susanna Stewart.10 Solomon witnessed a will on 8 May 1770 at Accomack Co, VA. Solomon Kellam, Jonathan Kellam & Absalom Sturgis witnessed the will of William Kellam Sr., wife Sarah.11 He was named in a guardian account on 28 August 1770 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Solomon Kellam presented a guardian account for Andrew Stewart, which including schooling.12 Solomon witnessed a will on 20 November 1772 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Hillary Green, Solomon Kellam & William 'Buddle' Hughes witnessed the will of John Kellam, wife Bridget.13 Solomon was named in his brother's will on 1 November 1773 at Hungars Parish, Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as my brother Solomon in the will of Moses Kellum, planter, of Hungars Parish.2 He died before 27 May 1777 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated. Proved by Andrew Stewart, both witnesses being dead. (NOTE: His estate inventory, sale or settlement was not found in the indexes to the Wills &c nor in the Order books from this date to 1800.).1
