     John 'Morgan' Dix was born on 14 June 1868 at Accomack Co, VA.² John was listed with his parents in the census of 1870 at Metompkin District, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Morgan Dix, age 3, in HH#MT610 headed by Asa Dix, a 51 year old physician.¹ He married Nannie E. Wessells, daughter of Augustus F. Wessells and Elizabeth S. Hope, on 2 November 1889.³ He graduated from the Baltimore University School of Medicine in 1898. While the year of his becoming an M. D. differs from the cited Directory, it is felt the following information from the "Genealogical and Memorial History of the State of New Jersey" compiled under the editorial supervision of Francis Bazley Lee is basically correct since it was written while Morgan was alive: "…For his early education he attended the schools at Accomac Court House, and afterwards went to the Academy at Onancock, Virginia, after graduating from which he entered the school of medicine of Baltimore University, at Baltimore, Maryland, from which he graduated with the degree of M. D. in 1894. In the fall of this year he became an assistant at the medical college of John Hopkins University, Baltimore, where he became chief of clinics and demonstrator in obstetrics, and at the same time was engaged in the general practice of his profession in the city. In 1899 the Doctor came to Cape May Court House, where he has been engaged in the practice of his profession ever since. He is a member of the New Jersey State Medical Society, the American Medical Association, and the Cape May County Medical Society, and his papers before these various bodies have been not only instructive and valuable, but have been the subject of much widespread favorable comment and discussion. Dr. Dix is a member of the Baptist church in Cape May Court House, and in politics is an Independent. He is a member of the Cape May County Board of Health, and of the Cape May Court House Board of Education. He is also a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and of the order of Red Men. In his fine and beautiful home at Cape May Court House the traditions of his family are nobly preserved, and the Doctor is one of the worthiest and most respected members of a community, which is one of the noblest in the state." He practiced medicine in NJ and PA, specializing in "allopathy" (that system of medical practice which combats disease by the use of remedies producing effects different from those produced by the disease treated). John 'Morgan' Dix married Jennie Yerby circa 1900.⁴ John 'Morgan' Dix died on 11 January 1929 at Metuchen, NJ, at age 60.²

     Lester H. Dix was born on 13 August 1890 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Lester registered for the World War I draft in Union County, New Jersey, Roll #1765550, Draft Board 2. The 1930 Census showed he was a 39 year old school principal who lived alone in Manhattan, New York, New York.¹ He died.

     Jennie Yerby was born in April 1870.¹ As of circa 1900,her married name was Dix.¹ She married John 'Morgan' Dix, son of Dr. Asa T. Dix and Lydia Jeanette Cave, circa 1900.¹

     Wylie J. Barnes was born in February 1858.² He married Leonora 'Nona' Dix, daughter of Dr. Asa T. Dix and Lydia Jeanette Cave, on 12 September 1896 at Accomack Co, VA. They moved to Macon, GA.³ Wylie J. Barnes appeared on the census of 1900 at Georgia; When the 1900 Census was taken, Wylie's daughter, Minnie, 21, and Lillian Nelson, 13, Nona's niece, lived with Wylie and Nona. When the 1910 Census was taken, Nona's sister, Jewel (Julia) Dix Hoopes, 30, widowed, lived with Wylie, Nona and Alfred,11.⁴ He died on 21 March 1928 at Georgia at age 70.²

     Alfred Edwards Barnes was born on 6 October 1899 at Vineville, Bibb Co, GA.¹ He died in May 1982 at Stephens, GA, at age 82.¹

     Nicholas Varlet was born circa 1618 at Amsterdam, Holland.¹ He married Susanna Jillis circa 1640.² Nicholas Varleth (Varlett), was first of record in New Amsterdam (New York) in 1651.² Nicholas Varlet married Anna Stuyvesant on 14 October 1656. She was the sister of Gov. Peter Stuyvesant and widow of Samuel Bayard.² Nicholas Varlet died in 1675.²

     Susanna Jillis was born circa 1620.¹ As of circa 1640,her married name was Varlet.¹ She married Nicholas Varlet, son of Casper 'Jasper' Varlet and Judith Taintenier, circa 1640.¹ Susanna Jillis died before 1656.¹

     Anna Stuyvesant was born circa 1605.¹ As of circa 1625,her married name was Bayard.¹ She married Samuel Bayard circa 1625.¹ As of 14 October 1656,her married name was Varlet.¹ Anna Stuyvesant married Nicholas Varlet, son of Casper 'Jasper' Varlet and Judith Taintenier, on 14 October 1656. She was the sister of Gov. Peter Stuyvesant and widow of Samuel Bayard.¹

     Jannetje 'Jane Varlet was born circa 1624 at Utrecht, Holland.¹ As of 10 December 1650,her married name was Herman.¹ She married Col. Augustine Herman on 10 December 1650 at New Amsterdam (New York). Koot shows they were married December 1651.^3,2 Jannetje 'Jane Varlet died before 1666.¹

     Maria 'Mary' Varlet was born circa 1628 at Holland.¹ As of circa 1650,her married name was Van Beeck.¹ She married Johannes Van Beeck circa 1650.¹ As of circa 1660,her married name was Schrick.¹ Maria 'Mary' Varlet married Paulus Schrick circa 1660.¹ As of circa 1670,her married name was Teller.¹ Maria 'Mary' Varlet married William Teller circa 1670.¹ Maria 'Mary' Varlet died in 1702.¹

     Johannes Van Beeck was born circa 1630.¹ He married Maria 'Mary' Varlet, daughter of Casper 'Jasper' Varlet and Judith Taintenier, circa 1650.¹

     Paulus Schrick was born circa 1630.¹ He married Maria 'Mary' Varlet, daughter of Casper 'Jasper' Varlet and Judith Taintenier, circa 1660.¹

She was shown as daughter Francina in the will of George Hack, wife Sarah.¹ Francina was mentioned in a will on 25 April 1728 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as Franciner Hack in the will of Mary Sanders.² As of circa 1730,her married name was Muir.³ She married Adam Muir circa 1730.³ Francina was named in her husband's will on 2 August 1770 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as wife Francina in the will of Adam Muir. She was given land where I now live, formerly purchased by her father George Hack, containing 1416 acres.⁴ Francina made a will on 10 December 1783 at Accomack Co, VA. To 3 daughters Elizabeth, Anne & Sarah Muir the use of the land where I now live during their natural lives, being the tract of land formerly possessed by my father George Hack, containing 1416 acres, & after the death of my said daughters to my grandson Walter Hatton. Grandson, when he arrives to the age of 21, to convey to William Drummond the lots in Onancock Town, to whom I have sold them. To grandaughter Margaret Hatton. To grandaughter Anne Hatton. To James Muir son of Adam Muir. 3 daughters Elizabeth, Anne & Sarah Muir residual legatees. 3 daughters Executrices. Witt: Edward Ker, Zorobabel Hornsby, Hilsmon Lawson.⁵ She died before 28 June 1785 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that her will was probated. James Muir, orphan of Adam Muir, heir at law to the testatrix, appeared by George Corbin, his guardian. Francina Muir widow of Adam Muir.⁵

A Rosie D. Dix, age 21, married Edward C. Wimbrough, age 23, on 16 Dec 1890 in Somerset Co, MD.² Rosa V. Dix appeared on the census of 1910 at Baltimore, MD, When the 1910 Census was taken, Edward was 43, Rosa was 39 and Joseph was 15. The were living in Ward 14.¹ Rosa was listed as a head of household in the census of 1930 at Brooklyn, NY. According to the 1930 Census, Rosa was head of the household and living in Brooklyn, NY. It is assumed Edward was deceased and that Joseph had married since he no longer resided with his mother. Rosa apparently rented rooms as the 1930 Census showed her sister, Lillian D. Atwater, was living with her as well as two adult females who were not related to them.¹

     Edward Joseph Wimbrough was born in 1867.¹ He married Rosa V. Dix, daughter of Dr. Asa T. Dix and Lydia Jeanette Cave, on 16 December 1890 at Somerset Co, MD. A Rosie D. Dix, age 21, married Edward C. Wimbrough, age 23, on 16 Dec 1890 in Somerset Co, MD.²

     Joseph Wimbrough was born on 1 April 1895 at Baltimore, MD.¹

     Dorothy Dix Logan was born in 1905 at Americus, GA.¹ As of 1934,her married name was Murray.¹ She married Clyde F. Murray in 1934.¹ Dorothy Dix Logan died on 30 September 1968.¹ Dorothy was buried at Marietta, GA.¹
