James may have first married Scarburgh Broadwater Douglas, widow of James Douglas, d. 1793 (Marriage Bonds) because by 1796 James Marshall had submitted an accounting record of James Douglas' four orphans (Orphans Accounts 1780-1800, p. 377) and in 1805 claimed that the Douglas orhans owned him money dating from 1794 (Orphans Accounts 1801-1805, p. 501)..³ As of circa 1794,her married name was Marshall.³

Rowley on 2 February 1843 at Accomack Co, VA. They were shown only as John W. Rowley and Elizabeth B. Wilkins. No other information was given. Their Worcester Co, MD, license of 31 Jan 1843 shows them as John W. Rowley and Eliza B. Welbouren..^2,3 Elizabeth was named in her mother's will on 8 November 1847 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as daughter Elizabeth Rowley in the will of Sally D. Welburne.⁴ Elizabeth was listed with her husband in the census of in 1850 at St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Elizabeth Rowley, age 25, born in VA in HH#1130 headed by John W. Rowley, a 35 year old coach maker, born in MD with real estate valuted at $1,200..⁵

     Sarah Ann Welburne was born circa 1823 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Sarah was named in her father's will on 22 June 1839 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as a daughter Sarah Ann in the will of William Welburne Sr., wife Sally D. Welburne.¹ She died before 13 September 1839 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as a daughter Sarah Ann Welburne dec'd in the codicil to the will of William Welburne Sr., wife Sally D. Welburne.¹

     Dr. William Welburne Jr. was born circa 1804 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Sally Duer 18 Mar 1812 (lic) at Worcester Co, MD. They were shown as William Welbourn & Sally Duer.² William was named in his father's will on 22 January 1839 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as son William & as William Welburne Jr. in the will of William Welburne Sr., wife Sally D. Welburne.¹ He died circa 1840 at Worcester Co, MD.³

     Peter Welburne was born circa 1805 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Peter was named in his father's will on 22 January 1839 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as son Peter in the will of William Welburne Sr., wife Sally D. Welburne.¹ He married Elizabeth Waters, daughter of William Waters, on 28 October 1839 at Accomack Co, VA. David Wallop & John P. Drummond were the security on the M.L.B. of Peter Welburn and Elizabeth Waters of Wm.² Peter Welburne died before 27 March 1843 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Peter Welburne was granted to Francis D. Miller with John Henderson & James A. Doughty securities.³

     William Hickman was born circa 1795 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Eliza 'Betsy' Henderson, daughter of James Henderson and Peggy Johnson, 21 Sep 1818 (bond) at Accomack Co, VA. William Marshall was the security on the M.L.B. of William Hickman of Hampton and Eliza Henderson of James.¹

     Eliza 'Betsy' Henderson was born on 19 December 1802 at Accomack Co, VA. She would have been the oldest female in the HH headed by William Hickman in 1820 and she was age 16-26 (bc 1794-1804). She would have been the oldest female in the HH headed by Thomas D. Welburn in 1830 and she was age 20-30 (bc 1800-1810). So her birth bracket would be between 1800 & 1804.^2,3,4 Eliza was named in her father's will on 21 November 1808 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as a daughter Betsy Henderson in the will of James Henderson.⁵ As of 21 September 1818,her married name was Hickman. She married William Hickman, son of Hampton Hickman, 21 Sep 1818 (bond) at Accomack Co, VA. William Marshall was the security on the M.L.B. of William Hickman of Hampton and Eliza Henderson of James.¹ As of 30 December 1828,her married name was Welburne.¹ Eliza 'Betsy' Henderson married Thomas Drummond Welburne, son of Drummond Welburne Sr. and Mary 'Polly' Wallop, 30 Dec 1828 (bond) at Accomack Co, VA. John Hope was the security on the M.L.B. of Thomas D. Welburn and Elizabeth Hickman, widow of William.¹ Eliza 'Betsy' Henderson died on 4 February 1843 at Accomack Co, VA, at age 40.⁴

It was on this date that administration on the estate of Teackle Taylor was granted to John D. Welburne with Thomas D. Welburne & James S. Dunton securities.⁶ Thomas was named as administrator of an estate on 28 June 1830 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of John Wimbrough was granted to Thomas D. Welburne with David Watts & Oliver Logan securities.⁷ He was security on the administration of an estate on 28 February 1831 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Severn Taylor was granted to Thomas M. Marshall with Littleton P. Henderson & Thomas D. Welburne securities.⁸ Thomas was named as administrator of an estate on 26 December 1831 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Ayres W. Hickman was granted to Thomas D. Welburne with Littleton P. Henderson & Lvin Core securities.⁹ Thomas witnessed a will on 29 October 1839 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Mary Townsend, Thomas D. Welburne & Oliver Logan witnessed the will of John Henderson Sr.¹⁰ Thomas was listed as a head of household in the census of 1840 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Thomas D. Welburn a head of household, aged 50-60. Listed with him were 1 male, age 05; 1 male, age 5-10; 1 female, age 0-5; 1 female, age 5-10; 1 female, age 15-20; & 1 female age 30-40. Also listed were 1 Freen Negro and 3 slaves.³

     Elizabeth Waters was born circa 1810 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ As of 28 October 1839,her married name was Welburne.¹ She married Peter Welburne, son of William Welburne Sr. and Sabra Corbin, on 28 October 1839 at Accomack Co, VA. David Wallop & John P. Drummond were the security on the M.L.B. of Peter Welburn and Elizabeth Waters of Wm.¹

     William Waters was born circa 1790.¹

     Hance was born circa 1775 at Somerset Co, MD. He married Keziah Bull on 13 June 1838 at Accomack Co, VA. George Howard & Isaiah Bagwell were the security on the M.L.B. of Hance Crosville & Keziah Laws.¹

     Skinner Welburne was born circa 1802 at Accomack Co, VA.² Skinner was named as an heir on 3 April 1823 at Accomack Co, VA. Polly Welbourn, then the wife of Drummond Welbourn and the daughter of Elizabeth Wallop who died in 1792 & Skinner Wallop who died in 1816 (sic), has since died and left 4 children, viz: Thomas, Mary, Skinner & John Welburn.²

     Mary Welburne was born circa 1800 at Accomack Co, VA.² Mary was named as an heir on 3 April 1823 at Accomack Co, VA. Polly Welbourn, then the wife of Drummond Welbourn and the daughter of Elizabeth Wallop who died in 1792 & Skinner Wallop who died in 1816 (sic), has since died and left 4 children, viz: Thomas, Mary, Skinner & John Welburn.²

     Rev. Durmmond Welburne Jr. was born on 22 October 1818 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was born posthumously, following his father's suicide brought on by financal difficulty. Beginning in 1840 he was a fully ordained preacher for 57 years in the Kentucky Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. He authored The American Epic, "a concise scenic history of the United States", which appeared in five editions prior to his death. Included with a full page review of his book is an excellent photograph ["Confederate Veteran", Vol. II (August, 1894), p. 249]. He died at his home of seven years in Nashville and is buried at Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville, KY with at least 22 of his descendents and/or relations. The claim that he had a CORBIN grandmother appears imprecise, although a CORBIN step-grandmother is quite likely. [General Minutes & Yearbook, Methodist Episcopal Church, South (1897), pp. 37 38]. In his 1850 U.S. Census record [1850 U.S. Census, Oldham Co., TN, p. 133], an ELIZABETH F. WELBURN (possibly the daughter of his half brother THOMAS D. WELBOURNE) was enumerated with 5DRUMMOND's family. He later married her to JOHN M. HART on Oct. 6, 1855. He also married ESTHER F. WELBURN to JOHN R. LINGENFELTER on April 14, 1856 [Jefferson Co., KY Marr. Lic.]. DRUMMOND is listed in the 1860, 1870, and 1880 U.S. Censuses of Clark County, Jeffersonville, IN across the Ohio River opposite Louisville. From 1890 to 1897 he lived in Nashville with his sons SAMUEL, EDWIN, and FRANK [Nashville City Directories]. A WILLIAMSON C. WELBURN (physician) is also living with them from 1896 until at least 1903.² He married Mary Elizabeth Schwing on 4 September 1844 at Lexington, KY.³ Durmmond was named in his mother's will on 30 April 1849 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as my son Drummond Welburne in the will of Polly Laws, widow of John Laws Sr.¹ He died on 2 January 1897 at Nashville, TN, at age 78.²

     Comfort Rowley was born circa 1765.¹ She married George Wallop, son of Skinner Wallop III and Elizabeth Douglas, 01 Dec 1785 (bond) at Accomack Co, VA. Tully Wise was the security on the M.L.B. of George Wallop and Comfort Rowly.¹ As of 1 December 1785,her married name was Wallop.¹

     John Wallop was born circa 1744 at Accomack Co, VA. John was named in his father's will on 11 April 1751 at Accomack Co, VA. He was named as a son John Wallop in the will of John Wallop, wife Ann..²

     David Wishart was born circa 1816 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ David was named as an heir on 3 April 1823 at Accomack Co, VA. Peggy Watts, the then wife of David Watts, and the daughter of Elizabeth Wallop who died in 1792 & Skinner Wallop who died in 1816 (sic), died before her mother and left 4 children, viz: John Watts, David Watts Jr., Nancy Drummond, the wife of William R. Drummond & Betsy Wishart, who has since died and left 2 children, viz: Joshua & David Wishart.¹

     Isabel 'Ibbey' Coard was born circa 1810 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Isabel was named as an heir on 3 April 1823 at Accomack Co, VA. Charles Marshall, dec'd, the 4th brother of George Marshall the elder, who left: William Wallop & Revell (sic) Wallop, & Sally, Elizabeth, & Nancy Wallop, infant children of William & Bridget Wallop dec'd, formerly Bridget Marshall, a daughter of Charles Marshall. (NOTE: Revell should be Rosell.).¹

     Thomas Hargis was born circa 1790.¹ He married Peggy Marshall, daughter of William Marshall and Peggy Stringer, on 20 May 1813 at Worcester Co, MD. They were shown as Thomas Hargis & Peggy Marshall.¹

     Susanna Dickerson was born circa 1786 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Susanna was named as an heir on 28 July 1803 at Pocomoke Neck, Acc Co, VA. Thomas Dickinson, was one of 5 children of Jesse Dickinson Sr., who died in 1788 and left 500 acres at Pocomoke. Thomas died in 1803 and his 1/5 share went to: Sarah, now the wife of William Ewell; Betsey, Susanna & Jesse Dickinson Jr. Thomas Fletcher appointed guardian to the infant defendants to defend this suit.² She was named in a land cause on 4 May 1813 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Jesse Dickerson, Susannah Dickerson, James White & William Ewell were named as heirs of Henry Fletcher Sr. (NOTE: James White was the husband of Betsey Dickerson and William Ewell was the husband of Sally Dickerson. Jesse, Susannah, Betsey & Sally Dickerson were the surviving children of Leah Fletcher & her husband Jesse Dickerson, Leah being a dec'd daughter of Henry Fletcher Sr..).³ As of circa 1814,her married name was Silverthorn.¹ She married William Silverthorn circa 1814.¹ Susanna was named as an heir on 29 November 1815 at Accomack Co, VA.      William Silverthorn was born circa 1785 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Susanna Dickerson, daughter of Jesse Dickerson and Leah Fletcher, circa 1814.¹

     Martha Dickerson was born circa 1747 at Accomack Co, VA.^1,2 Martha was named in her father's will on 3 October 1754 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as a daughter Martha Dickeson in the will of Edward Dickeson, wife Sarah.² As of circa 1765,her married name was March.¹ She married John March circa 1765.¹ Martha witnessed a will on 24 September 1768 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Francis Edwards, Martha March, John March & John Matthews witnessed the will of Levin Evans, wife Ann Mary.³ Martha was named as an heir on 29 November 1815 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that a certain Elizabeth Custis, the daughter & only child of Elizabeth Custis, who was a daughter of Martha March (Marsh?), formerly Martha Dickerson, a sister to the mother of George Marshall.¹

     John March was born circa 1740.¹ He married Martha Dickerson, daughter of Edward Dickerson and Sarah (-----), circa 1765.¹ John witnessed a will on 24 September 1768 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Francis Edwards, Martha March, John March & John Matthews witnessed the will of Levin Evans, wife Ann Mary.²

     Olive Margaret Eldredge was born on 1 October 1875 at Cooper Co, MO.¹ She married Leslie Kemper Hardin Laws, son of Rev. Martin Luther Laws and Gertrude A. Taylor, on 19 October 1898 at Boonville, MO.¹ As of 19 October 1899,her married name was Laws.¹ Olive Margaret Eldredge died on 25 April 1954 at Webb City, Dewey Co, OK, at age 78.¹

     Edward Laws died on 27 November 1899 at Prairie Home, MO.¹ He was born on 27 November 1899 at Prairie Home, MO.¹ Edward was buried at Walnut Grove Church Cemetery, Prairrie Home, MO.¹

     Ruth Lena Laws was born on 11 November 1900 at Lakota, MO.¹ As of circa 1920,her married name was Stinson.¹ She married James Albert Stinson circa 1920.¹ Ruth Lena Laws died on 31 May 1927 at Santa Fe, NM, at age 26.¹

     Maggie Ellis Laws was born on 7 February 1902 at Lakota, MO.¹ As of 17 July 1934,her married name was (-----).¹ She married Phillip Nofsker Clem on 17 July 1934.¹ Maggie Ellis Laws died on 1 June 1998 at Leedey, OK, at age 96.¹

     Rev. Joseph Stricklan Laws was born on 3 April 1904 at Trail, OK.¹ He married Ruth Marie Allen on 3 August 1930.¹ Rev. Joseph Stricklan Laws died on 29 April 1981 at Moberly, MO, at age 77.¹
