John Belote II was born circa 1654 at Northampton Co, VA.1 John was named as an heir after 8 March 1654 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that Bridgett was referred to as the widow of John Billyoate, chirurgion. NOTES: She gave deed of gift to her three youngest children Elizabeth, Ann, and John Billyoate, naming her brother (meaning brother-in-law) Armstrong Foster feoffee in trust, requesting that if all three children should die, that the cattle go to the children of her former dec'd husband John Foster. Bridgett Billyoate, widow, married John Vynes.2 He patented land in 1674 at tract N64, south of Marionville, N'hamp Co, VA. In 1656 a patent was issued to John Billiott for 1,050 acres. It was reissued to him 1661 and in 1674 to John Jr., who had succeeded his father. In 1722 young John had sold all but 200 acres before his death in this year when he left 100 acres each to his sons John and William, and by this time the spelling of the family name had become Beloate. The land bequeathed was in the southwest corner of the whole tract and John received the part on the east side of the road and William that on the west side. It later developed that the old seaside road used for this division was considerably east of its present course and, with the change to the present location, all except a few acres became east of the new location of the road. In 1741 William and Dorothy Belote sold his part to h is brother John. In 1743 John Belote left to his wife Rachel and then to their son John. The latter left no will and presumably was succeeded by a son William who appeared as the owner a few years later. Before he died in 1789, William had acquired additional land to the north of the old home place.3 He married (-----) (-----) circa 1675. John Belote II sold land in 1676 at tract N64, south of Marionville, N'hamp Co, VA. It was in this year that John Billiote sold 350 acres to Owen Edmunds, it being north of the home plantation and on the east side of the present course of the seaside road. In 1680 Owen & Sarah Edmunds resold to Capt. Nathaniel Walker. In 1676 Billiote sold 300 acres to Walker, it being the north part of the land west of the present road. In 1681 Walker sold the whole 650 acres to John Tankred. In 1683 Tankred sold 200 acres to Mathew Patricke. In 1779 the will of John Tankard directed that his land be sold. His daughter Sarah married the William Belote who owned the old Belote home place.3 He married Elizabeth (-----) circa 1680.1 John Belote II died before 28 May 1688 at Northampton Co, VA.
