Since George had 3 daughters under age 10 in 1800 and an additional 3 daughters under age 10 in 1810, he probably had a total of 6 daughters. Since 4 daughters (Hessy, Damey, Peggy & Pamelia) have been positively identified and another likely (Shady), this unnamed daughter is the 6th. And since Hester Ann Melson (1831-1911) could have been the illegitmate daughter of either Pamelia, Shady, Wm. S., John W. Melson or this unnamed daughter, she is being placed with this unnamed daughter at this time until further information can be found.¹

Bradford enlisted in Company I of the 19th Virginia Infantry April 10, 1862 and had a distinguished service record. Robert was a supply sergeant. James who enlisted May 5, 1861 in Company D of the 19th Virginia Infantry (known as Hunton's Brigade Picketts) was killed at Chickamaugua in 1863. Richard was captured at the Battle of Gettysburg and held as a prisoner of war in Pennsylvania where he moved his family after the war. Lindsey was killed in battle at Seven Pines, 1862. Others may have fought for the Confederacy. Peter married after the war as did William. Their cousin, Seaton P. Wilmer, enlisted in 1861 in Company F of the 58th Virginia Infantry. He died in 1878.¹
