Thomas Hall
M, b. circa 1640, d. before 1686
This Thomas Hall is mentioned in Whitelaw on p662, in describing the ownership of A25, which is southeast of Pungoteague. The patent was originally issued to Robert Parker, the father of Thomas Hall's wife Margaret, in 1649. Robert Parker died in England in 1673 and left his Virginia planation to any daughter who would go there and live. It was claimed by Margaret who married first Thomas Hall and then John Shepherd, who in 1686 gave bond to turn over to Jane, Thomas and John Hall, when they became of age, the estate due them from their father Thomas Hall, whose widow Margaret was then the wife of Shepard. The son Thomas apparently inherited the land, but in 1714 died intestate, leaving a wife Jane and a son Thomas (Colonel Thomas) to inherit. Col. Thomas Hall's will of 1775 disposed of only 536 acres in three parts to Anna Maria Andrews and Jean Hall and Margaret Fisher for life, and then to a grandson Thomas Hall Fisher. The part that went to his daughter Anna Maria Andrews was the waterfront part north of the Nandua Wharf road. In 1783 Anna Maria Andrews, widow of William, deeded to her son Thomas Hall Parker as 179 acres, and two years later he and his wife Peggy Parker sold to Edward Ker. The part that went to his daughter Margaret Fisher was the southeastern part and in 1797 Margaret Fisher had married a Bradford and she now joined with her son Thomas Hall Fisher and his wife Prissy in a sale of 179 acres to George Ker. The part that went to his daughter Jean Hall was the waterfront part south of the neck road. Jean married Richard Read and in 1797 they sold 178 acres to John Read, who deeded it back the next day. In 1812 the Reads sold to Hutchinson Kellam. At the mouth of the neck road is the present settlement known as Pennyville. Thomas was born circa 1640 at England.1 Thomas immigrated to before 1664.1 Thomas was living after 1673 at Nandua Creek, Acc Co, VA.1 He married Margaret Parker, daughter of Robert Parker and Jane (-----), after 1673 at Accomack Co, VA.1,2 Thomas died before 1686 at Accomack Co, VA.1

William was born on 26 August 1733 at Accomack Co, VA.3 According to Whitelaw, p668, in 1750 William Andrews inherited a portion of A26, which is just south of Pungoteague, from his father Robert Andrews, who left a wife Elizabeth and a son William as his heir. William married Anna Maria (Hall) Parker, the widow of his neighbor Caleb Parker. In 1778 William Andrews (wife Anna Maria) left his lands to his son Robert, who before he died moved across the neck road to A34, leaving his mother at the ancestral home. In 1803 Robert left to his daughter Anna Maria Hall Andrews the part where my mother now lives, and to daughter Lucy Stratton Andrews the part where Levy Rayfield now lives. In 1815 the land was surveyed for a division and Lucy received 191 acres which were on both sides of the bayside road south on Pungoteague and the old road to Belle Haven. Anna Maria had married John Wilkins and they received the home and 98 acres.4 He married Anna Maria Hall, daughter of Col. Thomas Hall and Elizabeth Scarburgh, circa 1760.5,6,7 He made a will on 31 March 1777 at Accomack Co, VA.7 William died on 4 April 1777 at age 43.3 His body was interred at Parker Plot, Pungoteague, Acc Co, VA.
