     John (72) Savage IV was born circa 1733 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ John was named in his grandfather's will on 14 April 1740 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as a grandson John Savage (under age 18) in the will of William Scott Sr.¹ John was named in his father's will on 18 December 1746 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as my eldest son John in the will of John Savage, wife Mary. He was given Negroes little Ben, Bridget and Amy. He may have been of age, as the 3 youngest sons were shown as under age 21 and he was not..² He was apparently the John Savage, aged 14 in Jan 1746/7 when a guardian was appointed, whose 431 acres and slaves were rented until 1754.³ He chose a guardian on on 11 October 1748 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that John Savage, orphan of John Savage dec'd, made choice of John Stratten, Gent., for his guardian (N'hamp Co Order Bk 22 (1748-1751), p. 22.⁴ He married Anne (172) Stratton, daughter of John (55) Stratton and Susannah (-----), circa 1749.⁴ John died before 13 June 1749 at Northampton Co, VA. To my loving wife Susanna Hanby during her widowhood my 150 A. plantation whereon I now dwell called "Mountney's Creek", and then to be eq. div. by my three sons Daniel, Richard, and John Hanby when they are 16. If wife remains a widow sons to be at age at 21. No heir female to enjoy any part of my said land. To my son William Hanby 50 A. at the headline of my land joining upon the land of Henry Masman. To my dau. Rebecca the wife of Simon Thomas one cow. To my dau. Elizabeth now the wife of William Scott a feather bed. Remaining estate to my wife to dispose of as she thinks fit. Wife extrx. (Notes: In 1678 cattle marks were recorded for John and Charles Hanby the sons of Richard Hanby. In 1703 a cattle mark was recorded for Joseph Hanby (which mark was that of his father Richard Hanby dec'd and entered for him 28 Nov. 1667 as appears in this book and now recorded by gift from his mother as he affirmed).¹ He died before 28 March 1683 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated.¹

     Susanna (-----) was born circa 1640.¹ As of circa 1660,her married name was Hanby.¹ She married Richard Hanby circa 1665.¹ Susanna was named in her husband's will on 22 August 1682 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as my wife Susanna Hanby in the will of Richard Hanby.¹

     William Hanby was born circa 1658 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ William was named in his father's will on 22 August 1682 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as son William Hanby in the will of Richard Hanby, wife Susannah. He was given 50 acres at the headline of my land joining upon the land of Henry Masman. (NOTE: He was not shown as under age like the other sons were.).² William was named in his brother-in-law's will on 4 October 1682 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as William Hanby in the will of Simon Thomas, carpenter. He was to have Simon's land if Simon's son Simon Thomas, who may have been in England, was not head from for 12 years.³

     Sarah (-----) was born circa 1725.¹ As of circa 1745,her married name was Scott.¹ She married Benjamin Scott, son of William Scott II and Mary (-----) (?), circa 1745.¹ Sarah was named in her husband's will on 8 October 1760 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as a wife Sarah in the will of Benjamin Scott.¹

     Elizabeth Scott was born circa 1748 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ Elizabeth made a will on 8 October 1760 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as a daughter Elizabeth Scott (under 18) in the will of Benjamin Scott, wife Sarah.¹

     Mary Scott was born circa 1750 at Northampton Co, VA.¹

     Eliza Robinson Smith was born on 20 November 1799 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ As of circa 1825,her married name was Hill.¹ She married K. Hill circa 1825.¹ Eliza Robinson Smith died on 12 June 1847 at age 47.¹ Eliza was buried at Lake Kilby, Suffolk Co, VA.¹

     K. Hill was born circa 1800.¹ He married Eliza Robinson Smith, daughter of John Custis (388) Smith and Leah Upshur, circa 1825.¹

     Ann Upshur Smith was born in 1803 at Lake Kilby, Suffolk Co, VA.¹ As of 1825,her married name was Kilby.¹ She married Thomas Jefferson Kilby in 1825.¹ Ann Upshur Smith died on 2 June 1879.¹ Ann was buried at Lake Kilby, Suffolk Co, VA.¹
