     Richard was born circa 1647 at Westmoreland Co, VA. Richard patented land on 23 February 1663 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Capt. Richard Hill's son Richard Hill Junior had come of age to hold land (16 years) as he was allowed by his father to turn in 4 headrights and receive a certificate for 200 aces of land in Accomack County in the woods near the head of Occahannock Creek adjoining a great swamp separating this from land of William Taylor. On 2 Sep 1664 he was granted another 450 acres for transporting 9 other persons into the colony in the same vicinity..² When Capt. Richard Hill wrote his will on 26 Mar 1688 he did not name his son Richard Hill Junior. Evidently Richard Junior had gone to England; he had become a master mariner, succeeding his father and so became entitled to the designation of Captain. On 16 Aug 1690 the Lt. Governor of Virginia, Francis Nicholson, had received a letter from the gentlemen that preserve the peace and execute laws in Maryland wherein they informed him that one Capt. Richard Hill an inhabitant in Maryland who was now on board a ship in the fleet going for England had uttered diverse treasonable words against their Majesty and had raised forces to oppose their Majesty's interest in Maryland. This Richard Hill Jr. had left Accomack County before Aug 1687 and before then had settled in Somerset Co, MD. The 29 Aug 1687 will of William Stevens of Rehoboth in Pocomoke, Somerset Co, MD referred to the plantation on which Richard Hill now lives as tenant of Edmund Howard. Richard seems to have received his patrimony long before his father died and thereafter to have followed his own inclinations.³

     Edward Baker was born circa 1630 at London, England.¹ In 1662 Edward Baker made a deed of gift of a calf apiece to George Nicholas Hack and Judith, presumably children of George & Anna Hack.³ Edward made a will on 19 October 1664 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as Edward Baker, late of London. To Brother in law Lt. Col. William Kendall. To Capt. Robert Pitt. Lt. Col. William Kendall & Robert Pitt Ex'rs. in trust of the goods I now have with me in the ship Mary of London upon her voyage for Virginia, whereof the said Robert Pitt is commander, to make the best of said goods with all convenient speed & return the net proceeds to my two friends Mr. George Clark "at ye signe of ye Shipp & Starr in Cheapside & Mr. Simon Hackett watchmaker in Cornehill in London" to be disposed of by them for tne use of my two children, Edward & Elizabeth Baker. Witt: Devorax Browne, Hn. Jones, Will: Stevens.⁴ He died before 16 November 1664 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated.¹

     Capt. Robert Pitt I (Mariner) was born circa 1635 at Bristol, England.² He married Elizabeth Stevens circa 1663. He married Elizabeth Stevens about 1663. She married John Willie before 1674. Robert moved from Isle of Wight to Accomack about 1660, when he bought land on the south side of the Pocomoke (A163, Whitelaw). He was commander of ship "Mary" in 1664. 1674 Elizabeth Willie, wife of John, documented she was the widow of Robert Pitt, Mariner, who had left under age children, Elizabeth and Robert.^3,2 Capt. Robert Pitt I (Mariner) patented land in 1663 at Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that a patent was issued to Robert Pitt for 1,000 acres and later in the year it was increased to 3,000 acres to include 2,000 acres assigned by Edmund Scarburgh. This is Whitelaw's tract A163, on Pitt's Creek.⁴ Robert was named as an heir on 19 October 1664 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as Capt. Robert Pitt in the will of Edward Baker, late of London. Whitelaw adds that "the goods I now have with me in the ship MARY of London upon her voyage for Virginia, where of Robert Pitt is Commander." Therefore Capt. Robert Pitt was a ship's Captain.^5,4 He died before 16 June 1670. He probably died at Sea.¹ Robert made a will before 16 June 1670 at Accomack Co, VA. "Upon intelligence of the death of Mr. Robert Pitt, Devoras Browne produced a will formerly made by the sd Pitt appointing him to be his executor" Browne willing to take charge of said estate for 9 months from this date, and if no other will appears the Court to grant adminstration upon the petition of sd: Browne, he in the meantime to take an inventory of the estate in this country & Mr. Richard Hill to be present.¹ Administration of Robert estate was filed on 19 October 1672 at Accomack Co, VA. Administration on the estate of Robert Pitt is granted to Devoras Browne upon the petition of Tabitha Browne, wife of said Devorax, in accordance with an order dated 16 June 1670.⁶ In 1674 John & Elizabeth Willie leased the 3,000 acres to Thomas Newbold for 11 years, the document stating that she had been the widow of Robert Pitt, mariner, who had left under-age children Elizabeth and Robert; presumably the length of the lease was set to terminate with the coming of age of young Robert. By 1693 young Pitt was living on his inherited land.³

He was shown as a son Edward in the will of Edward Baker, late of London.¹ Edward was named in his uncle's will on 13 April 1667 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as my kinsman (meaning nephew) Edward Baker in the will of Daniel Baker, brother of Susanna Kendall.²

She was shown as a daughter Elizabeth Baker in the will of Edward Baker, late of London.¹ Elizabeth was named in her uncle's will on 13 April 1667 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as kinswoman (meaning niece) Elizabeth Baker in the will of Daniel Baker, brother of Susanna Kendall.²

     Edward Dunston was born circa 1630. He married Elizabeth Lingo on 12 May 1661 at Northampton Co, VA. They were shown as Edward Dunston and Elizabeth Lingoe.¹ Edward Dunston died before 18 December 1665 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Edward Dunston was granted to Elizabeth Dunston, widow of said Edward.²

     Elizabeth Lingo was born circa 1640.¹ As of 12 May 1661,her married name was Dunston.¹ She married Edward Dunston on 12 May 1661 at Northampton Co, VA. They were shown as Edward Dunston and Elizabeth Lingoe.¹ Elizabeth was named as administrator of an estate on 18 December 1665 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Edward Dunston was granted to Elizabeth Dunston, widow of said Edward.²

     John Die was born circa 1630. He died before 18 September 1666 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of John Die was granted to Lawrence Robinson.¹

     George Watson was born circa 1630. George was named as an heir on 8 February 1664 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as a friend George Watson in the will of Henry Jones.¹ George made a will on 4 November 1674 at Accomack Co, VA. To Tabitha Whittington, daughter of William Whittington & Tabitha, his wife. To Henry Edwards. To Tabitha Whittington, wife of William Whittington & to William Whittington mourning rings. 600 acres at Long Love Branch to be divided, 300 acres to Jon. & Thomas Bundick, sons of Ralph & Ruth Bundick, the other 300 acres to Tabitha Browne, relict of Mr. Devoras Browne. Tabitha Browne Exec. To Capt. Southy Littleton. After payment of debts bal. of estate to be sent home to my daughter the next year, 1675. Witt: Tobias Sellvey, Edm: Browne, Edith Robinson.² He died before 7 February 1674/75 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated.²

     Elizabeth (-----) was born in 1613.¹ As of before February 1644,her married name was Bowman.² She married Maj. Edmund Bowman circa 1644 at Accomack Co, VA.² Deposition of Eliza. Bowman, aged about 50 years, 17 July 1663: Said that about the last of December, Robert Huit had a three or four year old hog that went with her hogs. Huit's hog was unruly and had no ears, for Bowman's dogs had pulled them off. Eliza. Bowman sent word to Huit about that time asking him to take care of the hog. Huit sent a servant and a freeman who took the hog with a rope, killed him in Bowman's pen, and carried him home. Signed, Eliza.      Mary Pearce was born in November 1733 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ On 27 Mar 1744 Mary Peirce, orphan of Edward Peirce, 10 years old last November, was bound till lawful age to Charles Davis.¹ Mary was named in her brother's will on 26 November 1777 at Accomack Co, VA.      LeRoy Croswell was born on 13 February 1852.¹ He married Mary A. (-----) in 1895.^1,2 LeRoy was listed as a head of household in the census of 1900 at Parksley, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Leroy Croswell the head of HH#5306, a 45 year old railroad section boss, born in MD. Listed with him was Mary Croswell, a 42 year old wife, born in MD. They had been married for 5 years.² He died on 20 November 1905 at age 53.¹ LeRoy was buried at Mt. Holly Cem, Onancock, Acc Co, VA.¹

     Mary A. (-----) was born on 2 June 1849 at Maryland.¹ As of 1895,her married name was Croswell.¹ She married LeRoy Croswell in 1895.^1,2 Mary was listed with her husband in the census of 1900 at Parksley, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Mary Croswell, a 42 year old wife in HH#5306 headed by Leroy Croswell, a 45 year old railroad section boss, born in MD.² She died on 17 March 1931 at age 81.¹ Mary was buried at Mt. Holly Cem, Onancock, Acc Co, VA.¹

     Capt. John M. Sterling was born on 1 January 1881 at Accomack Co, VA.² John was listed with his parents in the census of 1900 at Parksley, Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as John M. Sterling, a 19 year old son & farm laborer in HH#5311 headed by James Sterling a 65 year old farmer.¹ He died on 27 May 1980 at age 99.² John was buried at Edgehill Cem, Accomac, Acc Co, VA.²

     Pearl Bryon Sterling was born on 22 May 1897 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Pearl was listed with her parents in the census of 1900 at Parksley, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Pearl B. Sterling, a 2 year old daughter in HH#5311 headed by James Sterling a 65 year old farmer.² She died on 10 May 1914 at age 16.¹

     Thomas Teackle Taylor was born on 21 January 1707.¹ He married Patience (-----) circa 1730.^1,3 Thomas witnessed a will on 21 January 1742 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Thomas Teackle Taylor & Stephen Shay witnessed the will of Comfort Finney.⁴ Thomas made a will on 2 April 1774 at Newport, RI. He was shown as Thomas Teackle Taylorof Newport in the County of Newport, in the Colony of Rhode Island & Providence Plantations, in New England, Merchant - __ ___1769 - Recorded in the Town Council Book of Newport No. 14 Pages 171 & 172, Newport April 2, A. D. 1774 - Prob. in Accomack County 27 Dec. 1774 - To wife Patience Taylor my lot & dwelling house where I now live, together with the lot lately purchased of Stephen Wanton, during her life in lieu of dower. To son Edward Taylor all my lands in the Colony of Virginia & marsh containing 200 acres adjoining my homestead Farm in Virginia, he paying to my wife 20 £ each year during her life. To my daus, namely Elizabeth Taylor, Catherine Tillinghast, Margaret Taylor & Mary Waite, after the deceased of my wife, all my lot of land & dwelling house aforesaid in Newport (except such part as is hereafter disposed of).      Patience (-----) was born circa 1710.¹ She married Thomas Teackle Taylor, son of William Taylor and Elizabeth Teackle, circa 1730.^1,2 As of circa 1730,her married name was Taylor.^1,2 Patience was named in her husband's will on 2 April 1774 at Newport, RI. She was shown as wife Patience Taylor in the will of Thomas Teackle Taylor of Newport, RI.² She died on 20 November 1779 at East Greenwich, RI. The Edward Taylor Family Bible shows my Hon. mother died in East Greenwich on 20 Nov 1779.¹

     Catherine Taylor was born in 1744 at Accomack Co, VA.^1,2 As of circa 1765,her married name was Tillingast.¹ She married Nicholas Tillingast circa 1765.¹ Catherine was named in her father's will on 2 April 1774 at Newport, RI. She was shown as daughter Catherine Tillinghast the will of Thomas Teackle Taylor of Newport, RI. He also named a son-in-law Nicholas Tillingast.¹ She died on 27 December 1780. She was shown as Catherine Tillinghast who died 27 Dec 1780 in the 36 year of her age.²

     Nicholas Tillingast was born circa 1740.¹ He married Catherine Taylor, daughter of Thomas Teackle Taylor and Patience (-----), circa 1765.¹ Nicholas Tillingast was named as the executor of a will on 2 April 1774 at Newport, RI. It was in this year that Theophilus & Mary Pugh of Nansemond County sold the 216 acres of Richard Millechops to Samuel Burton, who in 1751 (with Tabitha) left to his son John.¹

Mullineaux.¹ As of 22 May 1889,her married name was Kent.¹ Mary Susan Lewis married Thomas Irving Kent on 22 May 1889 at Parksley, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Thomas Irving Kent, a 36 year old widowed merchant, born in Wic Co, MD & living in Acc Co, VA, the son of James & Leah Kent and she was shown as Mary Susan Melson, a 26 year old widow, the daughter of William T. & Susan M. Lewis.¹ Mary Susan Lewis died on 23 January 1925 at age 62.² Mary was buried at Liberty Cem, Parksley, Acc Co, VA. Her tombstone shows her as Mary S. Kent, wife of Thomas Irvin Kent, 4 Oct 1862 - 23 Jan 1925.²

     Capt. Edward Melson was born in 1840 at Accomack Co, VA.² He married Mary Susan Lewis, daughter of William Thomas Lewis and Susan M. Thomas, on 16 May 1877 at Deep Creek, Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as Edward Melson, a 35 year old mariner (parents not shown) and she was shown as Mary S. Lewis, age 15, the daughter of Wm. T. & Susan Lewis. They were married near Deep Creek by F.H. Mullineaux.¹ Capt. Edward Melson died on 5 May 1882 at Accomack Co, VA. His tombstone shows him as Capt. Edward Melson, who was murdered on his vessell Fannie Soulbeau on 5 May 1882, aged 42 years.²

Robert David Potter, 56, of Temperanceville, went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at his residence. Bob was born in Champagne, Ohio, on Nov. 27, 1952, the son of the late Robert Eugene and Frances (Ensley) Potter. Bob was a member of the Chincoteague Church of God and faithfully served on the Church and Pastor's Council for several years. He served in the US Navy. He owned and operated Bob's Barbar Shop in Chincoteague for more than 37 years. Bob is survived by his wife of 33 years, Rose Potter of Temperanceville, two daughters, April Fears and her husband, Rob, of Parksley, and Patty Drewer and her husband Neil, and Pappy's little bundle of joy, Jacob Connor Drewer of Temperanceville; and Dad, Rodney "Binky' Dize. He also is survivied by two brothers, Patrick Potter of Crisfield, MD, and Rusty Potter and wife, Jackie, of Georgia; one sister, Allison Gunther and husband, Ronnie, of Georgia; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles; and a very special friend and neighbor Mary Holden of Temperanceville. Funeral services were held at the Chincoteague Church of God, Chincoteague Island, at 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, with the Rev. John Thorne officiating. Interment was in the J.W. Taylor Memorial Cemetery, Temperanceville.¹ Robert was buried at J.W. Taylor Cemetery, Temperanceville, Acc Co, VA.¹
