The assumption is that Comfort Littleton was the bastard child of Mary Littleton and that Stephen Walker was a son of Joseph Walker by his first wife before he married Mary Littlteton, making them step-brother & sister, and that Stephen Walker was the natural father of Comfort's children. Another possibility is that Comfort was a daughter of Joseph Walker, by his first wife before he married Mary Littleton and that Stephen Walker was her brother and she married an unknown son of Mark Littleton. Whatever the case, it had to be a close relationship since Stephen Walker left everything to Comfort Littleton and her daughters in his will of 1765 and Comfort named a niece Sally Walker in her will of 1782. The only Sally Walker found to date that was alive in 1782 was Sally S. Walker (1778-1858) who was a granddaughter of John Walker (1720-1796), who is assumed to be a son of Joseph Walker by his first wife before he married Mary Littleton. Comfort was born before October 1721 at Accomack Co, VA. On 4 Apr 1722 it was recorded that at the November court Mary Lettleton was presented for fornication and having a bastard child; summoned to his court, Mary now failed to appear. Ordered that the sheriff take Mary into custody till she posted a bond for her appearance at the next court. On 8 Jan 1723/24 it was recorded that at the December court the sheriff was ordered to take Tho. Rew into custody for his appearance at this court to answer for fathering the child of Mary Lettleton, a single woman. After questioning him, the court ordered the sheriff to immediately take Rew into custody till he posted a bond to save the parish the cost of supporting the child and for his good behavior. He was also to pay court costs. (NOTE: The assumption is that Comfort Littleton was the bastard child.).1 Comfort was named as an heir on 15 March 1765 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as Comfort Littleton in the will of Stephen Walker. He gave her daughter Charlotte Littleton 5 shillings and the balance of his estate to Comfort Littleton & her 2 daughters Elizabeth & Margaret Littleton. At probated John Young appeared and contested the will, but it was admitted to probate & Comfort Littleton qualified to settle the estate. Mark Littleton & William Littleton witnessed the will..2 She made a will on 25 July 1782 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as Comfort Littleton. To daughter Peggy Littleton. To grandau Betty Crippen. To grandson John Williams Littleton. To grandson "Littleton Littleton". To niece Sally Walker. To daughter Betty Crippen. Betty Crippen, William Crippen, John W.      The assumption is that Comfort Littleton was the bastard child of Mary Littleton and that Stephen Walker was a son of Joseph Walker, by his first wife before he married Mary Littlteton, making them step-brother & sister, and that Stephen Walker was the natural father of Comfort's children. Another possibility is that Comfort was a daughter of Joseph Walker, by his first wife before he married Mary Littleton and that Stephen Walker was her brother and she married an unknown son of Mark Littleton. Stephen was born before 4 April 1722 at Accomack Co, VA. (NOTE: The assumption is that Stephen was the bastard child who went by Walker after his mother married Joseph Walker.).1 Stephen witnessed a will on 18 April 1764 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Bayly Hinman Jr. & Stephen Walker witnessed the will of Withertun Fitchett..2 He made a will on 15 March 1765 at Accomack Co, VA. To Charlotte Littleton, daughter of Comfort 5 S. Bal. of estate to Comfort Littleton & her 2 daughters Elizabeth & Margaret Littleton. Witt: Mark Littleton, William Littleton..3 Stephen died before 27 February 1768 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated. John Young appeared and contested the said will and the recording thereof until next Court. Ordered to be admitted to probate 29 Mar 1768 - Comfort Littleton qualified..3
