Thomas was born circa 1752 at Accomack Co, VA.2 Thomas was named in his father's will on 30 January 1760. He was shown as son Thomas Evans and given 210 acres where I now live in the will of John Evans, wife Ann. He inherited land in 1761 at tract A121, Modest Town, Acc Co, VA. It was in this year that John Evans (wife Anne) had added to his inheritance and now left as 210 acres to his son Thomas, who also acquired more land and in 1805 he and his wife Mildred sold as 250 acres to Sarah Crippen.3 Thomas was named in his grandfather's will on 8 June 1780 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as grandson Thomas Evans in the will of John Kittson, wife Elizaeth..1 He inherited land in 1782 at tract A121, Modest Town, Acc Co, VA. It was in this year that John Kitson left the land west of the seaside road to his wife Elizabeth for life; this must have been a part of the fee-simple land inherited from his father. Elizabeth died two years later, and while no record of a division was found, all of the Kitson land later appeared in the possession of two grandsons, Thomas Crippen Jr. & Thomas Evans.4 He married Mildred (-----) circa 1785. For many years Thomas Evans was a county surveyor and the recordings of his meticulous work have been most helpful in this effort (Whitelaws book). Towards the end of his life he was judge of the county court for a number of years. He became somewhat involved financially before he died and his will of 1815 directed that any part of his land could be sold for debts in necessary and later in the year 436 acres where Thomas Evans lived were purchased by Bagwell Wharton. Judge Thomas Evans sold land in 1805 at tract A121, Modest Town, Acc Co, VA. In 1761 John Evans (wife Anne) had added to his inheritance and left 210 acres to his son Thomas, who also acquired more land and in 1805 he and his wife Mildred sold as 250 acres to Sarah Crippen.3 He deeded land as a gift in 1810 at tract A121, Modest Town, Acc Co, VA. It was in this year that Judge Thomas Evans gave 80 acres west of the road to his son John Kitson Evans and it was not tracted further.4 Thomas made a will on 10 February 1815 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as Thomas Evans, Judge of Accomack County. My whole estate to my 2 sons John Kitson Evans & Thomas Moody Evans. I wish to remark that the circumstances of my son Thomas being more favorable than that of my son John, that if my son Thomas should see proper & choose to make any donation to my son John it would be gratifying. Settle the accounts between myself & Daniel (a man of color who has for many years lived with me) & permit him to have to himself his wife Mayriam, his 2 sons Richard & Daniel & his daughter Eliza at a reasonable price.
