Magers was found in 1860 Census with George and was assumed to be his wife. Connection made to her being Tabitha L. Wise as they were found living with her brother McKeel in 2 different Census years (1860, 1870). In 1860, also living with sister-in-law Matilda Wise (nee Rogers). Had she not been living with her brother, it would have been impossible to make this connection.¹

This is based on the fact that she was present with McKeel in the 1860 Census and then McKeel appears alone in 1870. It is unlikely that McKeel T. and Matilda Rogers had children. No children were seen residing with them in 1850 or 1860 and it is unlikely that they had children under the age of 17 that were living on their own..¹

While the difference in age between McKeel T. Wise and Catherine is stunning (over 40 years), it is shown that she is the "wife" to head of household and the children were listed as "son" and "daughter" in the Census and that McKeel T. (piano maker) is age 75..¹

     Lucinda was born circa 1802 at Pennsylvania.¹ She married Tully R. Wise, son of McKeel Wise and Elizabeth 'Betsey' Bonnewell, on 18 November 1832 at Baltimore, MD. The connection was made that he was the father of Elizabeth Wells Wise, based on the contents of 1850 Census, listing Elizabeth as age 16, which matches her age based on her birth date contained in the Bible of McKeel Wise. Another pair of documents supporting this connection are from county court and church records stating that Tully R. Wise married Lucinda Wells at the Methodist Episcopal Church (Baltimore City Station). This is the same denomination as was seen on the 2 prayer cards found in the Bible of McKeel Wise for Elizabeth Wells Wise. Also, supporting this connection is the match of Elizabeth's middle name with the maiden name of Tully's wife (Wells).

She was in possession of a Bible that was belonged to McKeel Wise, that was her namesake, but her relationship to McKeel had never been explicitly stated. Only through research was it determined that he was her grandfather.²
