Elizabeth was named in her husband's will on 24 June 1766 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as a wife Elizabeth in the will of John Parker, Ship Carpenter. He also named a daughter-in-law (meaning step-daughter) Sarah Evans, a son-in-law (meaning step-son) Zerrobable Evans, and the balance to be divided between the children of Isaiah Evans dec'd..6 Elizabeth was named in her son's will on 29 June 1766 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as a mother Elizabeth Parker in the will of Zerrobable Evans..7 Elizabeth was named as an heir on 24 September 1784 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as Betty Fooks, daughter of Daniel Fooks & Sarah his wife in the will of Mary Beavans. The relationship was not shown. It is not clear why she used her maiden named instead of her married name..8 When her son William Evans died in 1795 without children, his mother Elizabeth Parker claimed his land in tract A71 in Onancock which she left to her grandson John E. Wise in 1803. And in 1809 he left it to his brothre William E. Wise, who with his wife Sally sold 194 acres to Samuel C. White in 1832.9 She made a will on 13 November 1803 at Accomack Co, VA. To son Ephraim Matthews land purchased of William Blake, except 82 acres on the east side of said tract that is now held by Sarah Blake as her dower, which said 82 acres I give to my son William Blake, provided he pay my son Ephraim £10.3.7, & in the event of his failure to do so then I give the said 82 acres to my son Ephraim. I also give my said son 10 acres on the East side of the land that belongs to me in Pocomoke Swamp. He was also shown as heir at law at probate, meaning he was the oldest surviving son..3 Ephraim made a will on 20 December 1781. In the name of God Amen, I Ephraim Matthews of Accomack County being very sick and low in body do constitute and appoint this to be my last will and testament in manner and form as followeth. Item, I give and bequest unto my son George Matthews all this tract or parcel of land whereon I now live containing 111 acres be the same more or less to him & his heirs forever, likewise 10 acres of land lying and being in Pocomoke to be laid off out of the south side of my tract or parcel of land which Littleton Townsend now lives on to him and his heirs forever. Item, I give the residue of that tract or parcel of land lying in Pocomoke whereon the said Littleton Townsend now lives, unto my son Levin Mathews, to him and his heirs forever. Item, I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Anne Mathews my whole estate while she continues a widow to bring my said sons George & Levin Mathews up upon. It is also my desire that after my just debts is paid, that the residue of my estate not before mentioned be equally divided between my 2 sons George & Levin Mathews. It was on this date that Elizabeth & Sarah Leatherbury, daughters of Charles Leatherbury dec'd, petitioned that their father died intestate and that their mother Elizabath (now wife of John Stanton) had obtained administration of Charles' estate while still a widow; she returned no inventory as directed by law. Ordered that Elizabeth Stanton present and swear to an inventory of any estate that had come into her hands or of which she had knowledge. On 4 Jun 1701 it was recorded that since Elizabeth, now wife of John Stanton, had not previously done so, the mother was ordered to provide an inventory; she and her new husband now presented an inventory and an account of the debts she had paid out of the estate. After examining the documents, the court ordered John Stanton to pay Elizabeth and Sarah Leatherbury each a 1/7 part of the estate (valued at £5.15.4 and a 1/7 of the "horses, mares & sheep & cattle." (NOTE: Evidently there were other children?].3 As of before May 1901,her married name was Stanton.3
