He was shown as a son John Savage in the will of Abel Savage, wife Nanny..1 He inherited land in 1794 at tract A51, west of Melfa, Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Abel Savage (wife Nanny) left 75 acres each to his sons William and John, but there was a posthumous son Abel, so a survey for division in 1803 gave 62.5 acres each to William and John and 28 acres to Abel. While it was not traced further, the William Rodgers part became known as the Savage Land and some later owners were Charles Beloate, William J. Beloate, John Lawarence, John H. Killmon and others.3 His was named in the will of his step-mother on 20 June 1796 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as son-in-law (meaning step-son) John Savage in the will of Nancy Savage.      Richard was born circa 1655 at Northampton Co, VA.2 Richard was named in his father's will on 13 January 1661 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as one of my "two young sons" who were to have the seat of land in Accomack obtained by patent under the name of William Robinson.3 He patented land on 5 April 1666 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as Richard Robinson and granted 150 acres in Accomacke (??) Co, at the bay side of N. side of Muddy Cr. Branch, bounded on S. by said Branch & lands of Samll Jones & Wm. Smith, W. by the bay & N. by lands surveyed for Mr. Jno. Custis, now in possession of Benjamin Lawrence for transportation of 3 person. (NOTE: Whitelaw shows this as tract N112 near Silver Beach. Since Richard was named in his father John Robinson's will of just 5 years earlier as one of two young son and since his father also mentioned other land in Accomack obtained by patent under the name William Robinson (his then eldest son), perhaps this patent was somehow setup to be in son Richard's name as he may not have been of age in 1666.).4,5 He sold land in 1676 at Northampton Co, VA. It was in this year that Richard Robinson and his mother Mary Parramore (widow of John) joined in a deed for the 150 acres to Thomas Marshall.5 He married Rebecca Savage, daughter of Thomas Savage (I) (carpenter) and Rebecca (-----), after 15 August 1682 at Northampton Co, VA.6 He made a will on 19 August 1695 at Northampton Co, VA. To John Sturgis, Sr., my wife's sister's son, 300 A. in Somerset Co., Md. it being part of a neck of land containing 1050 A. according to patent, at the head of the neck at the south side at the beaver dams. To Thomas Peele, the son of my sister Mary Shisson dec'd, 500 A. at the bottom of the neck. To Robinson Parramore, dau. of my sister Bridget Robinson dec'd, the remaining 250 A. of the neck at the north side at the head. To the five children of my sister Bridget Robinson dec'd 10 cows and 10 ewes. To my nephew Henry Peale 50s. To my brother Richard Parramore 50s. To my loving wife Rebecca Robinson during her life my plantation at Nuswaddox where I now live, and then to Sarah Savage mine and her goddau., the dau. of Thomas Savage and Bridget his wife. But if Sarah should die, then the plantation to return to Thomas Parramore son of Arnall Parramore and my sister Bridget his wife; and if Thomas dies then to his sister Robinson Parramore. To the said Sarah Savage n. woman Amy. Wife extrx. My kinsmen (Maj.) John Custis, Jr. and Tully Robinson to act as trustees. Witt: John Tilney, Thomas Peale, Henry Peale, Thomas 'T' Parramore..7 Richard died before 28 November 1695 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated..7

Nathaniel was born circa 1688 at Northampton Co, VA. Nathaniel was named in his father's will on 10 November 1721 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as a son Nathaniel Savage in the will of Thomas Savage Sr., wife Bridget..1 He married Sarah Spiers, daughter of John Spiers and Sarah Ebourne, before 2 December 1724 at Accomack Co, VA. Nathaniel Savage had married Sarah (the widow of Henry Boles), who was left executor of the will of Wm. Parker. Savage, who petitioned that he had paid Jacob Spires (now Jacob Rogers) the full amount that Parker had bequeathed to William Spiers, Luke Spiers and Sarah Spires (sic), requested that the court require Rogers to give security for the payment of the legacies. Ordered that the sheriff summon Wm: Rogers (sic) and his wife to the next court to answer the petition. On 5 Jan 1724/5 William Rodgers, administrator of the estate of John Spires dec'd presented an inventory of the estate. On this same date, upon the petition of Nathaniel Savage at the last court, the sheriff was ordered to summon Wm. Rodgers and his wife to appear to give security for the legacies that Savage and delivered to Mrs. Rodgers when she was a widow. This was the estate that Wm. Parker, in his will, left to her children, William Spiers, Luke Spiers and Sarah Spiers. After hearing the arguments on both sides, the court ordered William Rodgers and his wife to return to estates to Savage or give "good security" to ensure that legacies would be delivered to the children when they attained the age to receive them..2 He made a will on 15 December 1729 at Northampton Co, VA. To my son Nathaniel my 150 A. plantation whereon I now live, gold ring, silver studs, and ns. Jack, Philip and Scipio. To my dau. Ansley ns. Pegg and Moll. To my loving wife Sarah n.      Thomas was born circa 1615 at England. Thomas was named as a headright on 24 June 1635. It was on this date that Thomas Johnson and Richard Johnson were brought in by Capt. Adam Thorowgood, along with 103 others, for which he acquired 5,350 acres of land in Princess Anne County..1 He married Mary Berryman, daughter of William Berryman Sr. and Alice (-----), before 1642. Henrietta Ayres Sheppard says we have been unable to produce a likely first wife for Col. Thomas Johnson, unless it was the Mary Johnson, who was on his list of headrights in 1642. Perhaps Henrietta was not aware of the 29 Jun 1646 will of Ann Carsley, whose sister Frances Carsly was the Extr, who appinted her uncle Thomas Johnson to attend to the disposition of the estate. Based on this, evidently Col. Thomas Johnson had married Mary Berryman, a sister of Elizabeth Berryman the wife of Henry (1) Carsley, who had a daughter Frances, the Extr here, who later married Jeffery Minshall..2,3 Thomas received land as a gift on 3 January 1642 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that Mr. Thomas Johnson was granted a certificate for land for bringing in himself and 7 others, including a Mary Johnson..4 On 20 Jul 1643 Mr. Thomas Johnson appeared as sheriff for N'hamp County.4 Thomas Johnson Gent. served as a burgess from N'hamp County in the General Assembly of Virginia from 1645-1655.5 Thomas was named as administrator of an estate on 28 July 1645 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of William Berryman was granted to Mr. Richard Lemmon & Mr. Thomas Johnson. (NOTE: They were both his brothers-in-law, having married his sisters Jane and Mary.).6 Thomas patented land on 4 June 1646 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that Thomas Johnson Gentleman was awarded a patent for 600 acres at Nasswattock Creek for transporting 12 persons into the colony..7 During 1643 and 1646 he often appeared in N'hamp Court as a witness, joror and foreman of a jury and on 28 Jul 1646 he appeared on the Bench as a Justice, continuing through 1653.8 Thomas patented land on 9 April 1647 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that Thomas Johnson Gent. was granted 1,000 acres in N'hamp County at Occhahannocke Creek bounded at the western part of Mattasippe Neck..7 He married Jane Larrimore, daughter of Henry Larrimore, circa 1648 at Northampton Co, VA.9 Thomas patented land on 14 March 1655 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that Major Thomas Johnson was granted 200 acres in N'hamp County at Occahannock Creek at the head of Matachepeneek for transporting 4 persons into the colony..10 Thomas was named in his brother's will on 1 October 1656 at Norfolk Co, VA. It was on this date that William Johnson mentioned his brother "Mr. Thomas Johnson" in his will as having held in trust property and tobacco for his three children William, Richard and Mary Johnson..1 He made a will on 25 November 1658 at Northampton Co, VA. William, John, Alie, and Jane Major to be paid out of my estate what is due them by their father's last will. Thomas Johnson to have the neck of land called the "Old Neck", and the land abutting to it being part of a 200 A. patent, and a colt due from Mr. Yeo which is in lieu and satisfaction of 450 A. at Pungatage sold by me to Mr. Yeo, the patent being in Thomas Johnson's name. To my son Obedience Johnson when 18 the neck of land called "Matasippy" where I now live. To my son Richard 4 cows. To William Major the neck of land called "Poplar Neck" abutting upon Poplar Branch containing 200 A. with a 30 foot house to be built upon it, in lieu of a plantation at Nasswatux belonging to the said William which I sold to Mr. Westerhouse for 6000#t. Wife [no name] resid. legatee and extrx. John Robinson and William Major to oversee. To Obedience his mother's rug. To my servant Hugh a calf when he is free. Witt: John Dixon. Note: The widow's name is Jane Johnson.).11 Thomas died before 28 December 1658 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated..11
