Robert was born circa 1690 at Northampton Co, VA. Robert was named in his father's will on 25 September 1711 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as a son Robert in the will of George Corben, chyrurgoin, wife Susanna. He and his brother Ralph were given all my right to land lying on the mouth of Pocomoke River in Accomack County.2 He married Anne (-----) circa 1715.3 In 1741 Robert Corbin bought the eastern 125 acres of A152 (between Sanford and Messongo Creek) from George and Catherine Philbee. In 1743 Robert Corbin (wife Ann) left this to his son David Corbin, who two years later left it to his brother Ralph. In 1800 Ralph (wife Rachel) left it to his sons George and Coventon Corbin (Whitelaw, p. 1275). Also in 1743 Robert Corbin (wife Ann) left his home plantation, part of A157 (between Sanford and the Pocomoke River) to his son Ralph, who also became a doctor. Although Coventon was the heir-at-law of Ralph, in some way the property became owned by Coventon's brother George, who in his will of 1771 (wife Mary) made no mention of the land, which went to his son Ralph. Ralph and Rachel Corbin sold 20 acres of marsh to Jonathan Mears, who in 1778 with his wife Joyce resold to John Silverthorne. In 1800 Ralph Corbin (wife Rachel) left his 280 acre plantation to his son Robert; the property remained intact until 1832 when Robert and his wife Elizabeth sold 31 1/2 acres to Edmund Stant (Whitelaw, p. 1279). Robert Corbin's will, written 8 Sep 1743, specified: To wife Ann whole estate for life then to my son Ralph Corbin plantation where I now live. To son David land on Messongo which I bought of George Philby. Daughters Leah, Scarburgh, Wealthy, Susannah and Mary Ann. Wife Ann executor. Witt: John Snead, Jane Snead, and Daniel Hall. In order of probate David Corbin, heir at law, qualified (Acc Wills 1737-1743, p. 499). Evidently Robert's wife Anne nor his son David, who himself died only 2 years later in 1745, did not settle Robert's estate, because on 30 Sep 1766, some 23 years later, Robert Corbin's estate, unadministered by Anne, his late widow and executor, deceased, with will attached, was administered to his son Ralph Corbin, with Covington Corbin and Southy Simpson securties (Acc Orders 1765-1767, p. 236). Robert made a will on 8 September 1743 at Accomack Co, VA. To Wife Ann whole estate for life then to my son Ralph Corbin plantation where I now live. To son David land on Massongo which I bought of George Philby. Daus. Leah, Scarburgh, Wealthy, Susannah & Mary Ann. Wife Ann Exec. Witt: John Snead, Jane Snead, Daniel Hall.4 Robert died before 25 October 1743 at Accomack Co, VA.4

Ralph was born circa 1688 at Northampton Co, VA. He married (-----) Covington (Covington?) circa 1710.2 Ralph was named in his father's will on 25 September 1711 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as a son Ralph in the will of George Corben, chyrurgoin, wife Susanna. He and his brother Robert were given all my right to land lying on the mouth of Pocomoke River in Accomack County.3 He married (w|o_Ralph_Corbin) Jenkins, daughter of (f|o_Thos) Jenkins, before 1720. Ralph Corbin was named as a brother-in-law of Thomas Jenkinson and as executor to Jenkinson's will, written 17 Jan 1720/21, recorded 2 Jun 1724. Since Jenkinson's wife was listed as Elizabeth and since Ralph's only sister (named in his father George's will of 1713) was Ann Bloxom, it is assumed that Ralph must have married a sister of Jenkinson. Other sources show his wife as Sarah or Priscilla Scarburgh. Perhaps he was married more than once..4 Ralph witnessed a will on 20 February 1727/28 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Ralph Corbin and Elizabeth Boggs witnessed the will of Silvester Salter, wife Ann.5 In 1741 Ralph Corbin bought 219 acres of A147 (near Hallwood) from Jedidiah Ewell and Charles Stockley. From Ralph Corbin, the title descended to a son Coventon, then to a grandson George, and so to his daughter Agnes D., who married John S. Ker (Whitelaw, p. 1263). In 1746 Charles and Elizabeth Dickerson of Somerset sold 200 acres of A177 (between Wattsville and New Church) to William Rowley and 300 acres to William Marshall, the deeds stating that they had bought the whole from Henry Waggaman and Ralph Corbin by a General Court deed (Whitelaw, p. 1342). In 1741 Ralph Corbin bought 219 acres of A147 (near Hallwood) from Jedidiah Ewell and Charles Stockly. From Ralph the title descended to a son Coventon, then to a grandson George, and then to George's daughter Agnes D. Ker. In 1800 John S. and Agnes D. Ker sold 204 acres to Abel Coleburn (Whitelaw, p. 1263). Ralph Corbin's verbal will, which was proved 30 Sep 1746 by Mary Evans, specified: "What is in the closet wherin I keep my books and medicines I give to my son Convington." Convington Corbin qualified (Acc Wills &c. 1743-1749, p. 305). Ralph died in 1746 at Accomack Co, VA.6 Ralph's will was probated on 30 September 1746 at Accomack Co, VA.6

George was born circa 1713 at Accomack Co, VA. He married Mary Bonnewell, daughter of George Bonnewell, circa 1733.1 George Corbin had a child bound to him on 29 May 1759 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. On Consideration of the Petition of William Hudson setting forth That two of her (sic) Children a Daughter about Sixteen Years of and and a Boy about fourteen Years of Age who he put out to George Corbin is very basely used by the said Corbin And On Examination of the Witnesses on Oath and hearing the said Corbin & Consenting that the said Children might be removed Ordered that they be removed from said Corbin and that he pay the costs. Ordered that George Hudson Son of William Hudson be bound by the Church Wardens of Accomnack Parish to Thomas Stockley till Lawful Age to learn the Trade of a Shoemaker . . . Ordered that the Church Wardens of Accomack Parish bind out Rachel Hudson Daughter of William Hudson till Lawful age to such Person as shall be proper. .2 In 1767 George Corbin bought 40 acres of A163 (near Bullbegger) from William and Elizabeth Merrill, and in 1797 his son Ralph Corbin and wife Sarah sold to William Selby (Whitelaw, p. 1295). George Corbin's will, written 31 Mar 1771, specified: To son Ralph Corbin. If George Thomas at his death should not devise unto his daughter Sarah Corbin (who had married George's son Ralph) an equal part of his estate with the rest of his children, then the said Sarah shall not enjoy any part of my estate I have here given to my son Ralph Corbin. To friend John Michael 90 acres of land and marsh that I bought of Levin Evans. To wife Mary Corbin. To son George Corbin plantation in Jollys Neck which I bought of William Savage, being 173 acres, after the death of his mother, also 40 acres purchased of William Merril adjacent to the above. To daughter Polly Corbin. Wife Mary and son Ralph executors. Witt: James Richardson, William Burton, John Nicholson (Acc Wills &c. 1767-1772, p. 542). Evidently to satisfy the above terms of George Corbin's will, George Thomas, in his will written 25 Jan 1772, less than a year later than George Corbin's will, George Thomas specifed: To Ralph Corbin and Sarah his wife the effects and money they have had of me in my lifetime to be accounted for in the division of the estate as a part of their equal division (Acc Wills &c. 1772-1777, p. 39). George Thomas's daughter Sarah Corbin was also mentioned in the will of her brother George Thomas (Jr.) written 5 Mar 1774, only 2 years after his father's (Acc Wills &c. 1772-1777, p. 230). A portion of the Whitelaw interpretation of this will in regarding the 173 acres of Savage land must be in error. The 1778 reference contains errors. The 1787 reference is correct. Whitelaw states that in "1778 Ralph Corbin deeded to his son George Bonewell Corbin 173 acres which he said his father George had bought from William and Betty Savage (perhaps by General Court deed). 1787 George B. (wife Sarah) left to his sons Coventon and Ralph, but the former died intestate and in 1798 180 acres were divided among Ralph and other hiers. Ralph received 88 acres which, two years later, he sold to Thomas Jenkins" (Whitelaw, p. 1291). For more on this see George Bonnewell Corbin's record. According to Whitelaw, p. 1295, in 1788 George Corbin bought 40 acres of A162 (near Bullbegger) from the executor of William Broadwater (wife Sally) and in 1802 William and Sabra Welburn and Drummond and Mary Welburn sold to William Selby, saying it had been left to them by Corbin. This must be some confusion here, because Sabra (wife of William Welburn) was the daughter of Ralph Corbin Jr. who died in 1799 and he was the son of George Corbin who died in 1771. Ralph Corbin Jr. had a brother George Bonnewell Corbin who died in 1787. It is not clear who the George Corbin referred to by Whitelaw as buying this land in 1788 was. It might have beent Colonel George Corbin (wife Elizabeth Revell Horsey) who died in 1793. However, why it would have passed to Sabra (Corbin) Welburn is unclear. George died in July 1771.3 George's will was probated on 30 July 1771 at Accomack Co, VA.3

The results of a Partition Suit of Thomas Jenkinson, Jr. and Polly Jenkinson, Infants by Custis Jenkinson, their next friend vs. Ralph Corbin, Thomas Jenkinson and Pamela, his wife and Nancy Corbin recorded 5 Jun 1798 indicated that George "Bonwill" Corbin, possessed 25 acres of land in Acc Parish, Acc Co, when he wrote his will on 7 Jun 1787 and left this land to his 2 sons, Ralph and Coventon. On 8 Sep 1793 Coventon departed this life an "infant," under age, intestate and without issue, but leaving brothers and sisters: Pamela and Nancy sisters of the whole blood, Ralph brother of the half blood on the side of the father, and Thomas and Polly Jenkinson brother and sister of the half blood on the part of the mother. As a result Ralph Corbin, half brother by the father, got 1/7 of Coventon's 1/2. Pamela Jenkinson and Nancy Corbin, whole sisters, got 2/7 each of Coventon's 1/2, and Thomas and Polly Jenkinson, half brother and sister by the mother, got 1/7 each. The deed recited that Hill Drummond had left to his daughter Patience, who first had married William Massey and had three children, but all of them died without issue; she then married John Baldwin and had two sons, James and Joseph, but they also died without issue, so the title had passed to the heirs of the sisters of Patience.
