     Samuel Kellam was born circa 1790 at Accomack Co, VA.2,1 Samuel was named in his grandfather's will on 11 July 1806 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as my grandson Samuel Kellam in the will of John Kellam Sr. He was given the land where I now live adjoining marsh opposite Henry's field.3 He married Elizabeth Downing, daughter of Arthur Downing Jr. and Elizabeth Wainhouse, 04 Mar 1816 (bond) at Northampton Co, VA. Thos Scarburgh was the security on the M.L.B. of Samuel Kellam and Elizabeth Downing, ward of Edmund Downing who gave consent. They were married on 6 Mar 1816.4 Samuel was named as administrator of an estate on 26 August 1816 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Thomas Kellam was granted to Samuel Kellam with Abel Garrison, James Shield & George Beach securities.5 On 8 Jan 1817 Samuel Kellam was shown as a buyer at the estate sale of George Kellam.2 He was named in the settlement of his mother's estate on 30 January 1826 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that at the estate settlement of Rachel Kellam that Abel Garrison, Samuel Kellam, James Shield & Jesse Kellam were all to pay $109.27 each. (NOTE: Evidently Abel Garrison wife Peggy Kellam was Rachel's daughter, Samuel Kellam was her son, James Shield wife Ann Bagwell Kellam was her daughter & Jesse Kellam was her son.).1 He died before 11 June 1827 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Samuel Kellam was granted to Edmund W.P. Downing.6

It was called Thompsons Purchase which was patented on 4 May 1689 by Christopher Thompson for 500 acres in Baltimore Hundred. On 9 June 1753 a triparte agreement, Tabitha Givans of Accomack Co, VA, daughter of Edmund Ayres, sold to Amaziah Curren and Thomas Robins. On 31 Aug 1759 John Onions and wife Susanna Onions sold 100 aces to Joseph Melson. On 31 Aug 1759 Joseph Melson and wife Ann Melson sold 143 1/2 aceres to John Onions.6 Tabitha Ayres was named in her husband's estate settlement on 28 March 1753 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Thomas Gibbings was granted to Ralph Justice. Tabitha, widow of the said Thomas, refusing to give security, security was provided by George Douglas.7

It was on this date that Ann Melson, Thomas Givans and wife Tabitha Givans sold to Thomas Robins 240 acres given by Christopher Thompson to Edmund Ayres for life, then to be divided between Tabitha and Ann Mary Thompson(sic). It was called Thompsons Purchase which was patented on 4 May 1689 by Christopher Thompson for 500 acres in Baltimore Hundred. (NOTE: Since no husband was shown for Ann Melson, her husband was dec'd or he would have signed the deed with her.) On 9 June 1753 a triparte agreement, Tabitha Givans of Accomack Co, VA, daughter of Edmund Ayres, sold to Amaziah Curren and Thomas Robins. On 31 Aug 1759 John Onions and wife Susanna Onions sold 100 aces to Joseph Melson. (NOTE: John Onions was a son of Ann Mary Eyres Onions Melson by her first husband Selby Onions.) On 31 Aug 1759 Joseph Melson and wife Ann Melson sold 143 1/2 aceres to John Onions. (NOTE: Evidently this was some sort of land swap.).4
