Barbara swore that Nathan White was the father of her child, so he was orded taken into custody till giving security to save the parish the cost of rearing the child. She married William White (I) Wheelwright circa 1640.¹ On 16 Jul 1663 in Accomack Court, Murrin Cornelius had repeated several "speeches" disparaging the wife of Robert Huit. Cornelius confessed and said she had heard them from Mary White, but could not prove it. Cornelius was ordered to make her contrition by acknowledgement in court and in both Occahannock Church and Nanda Church. She was to pay court costs. Deposition of Hugh Cornelius and Marrion his wife on 16 July 1663: About a year ago Mary White related that Richard Hill's barrow got into Undimon's field, where Huitt kiled it and with his men carried it home. When the hog was dressed, the say Richard Hill's daughter coming to the house, so they cut off the hog's head and ran into a little room with it. As Capt. Baker and Hill were at Huitt's house the next Sabbath, they were invited to stay to dinner. Hill asked if that was part of the same poor sow that Huitt had sent Hill's wife a piece of. Mary White also related that Huitt had killed only one poor sow that year. She added that Robert Huitt's wife sent for her and asked what her nephew had said about her. Mary White told what had been related. Huitt's wife said that if Mary had told her in private, she would have liked Mary well, but now Richard Hill and everyone would hear it.
