     John was born circa 1727 at Accomack Co, VA. John was named in his father's will on 4 April 1736 at Accomack Co, VA. He was called son John West and given the plantation whereon I now live in the will of Argol Yardly West..2 He married Ann (286) West, daughter of Anthony (85) West and Eleanor Revell, circa 1762 at Accomack Co, VA. Evidently Dorman reversed John (197) West and John (524) West. According to Whitelaw (tract A78) the John West who filed suit in 1763 and recovered the land leased by Col. John (2) West in 1689 to Mrs. Frances Cambers was a descendant of John (13) the Younger and in 1792 gave as 150 acres, calling it the Leased Land, to his son-in-law George Poulson. This would be the John West Sr. who named a son-in-law George Poulson in his undated will probated 30 Aug 1805. This John West would have to have been the son of Argoll West, not the son of Jonathan West II.3,4,5 John served in the Revolutionary War in in 1775 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as John West, a Lieutenant in the Militia..6 John made a will before 30 August 1805 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as John West Sr. and his will was undated. Son-in-law George Poulson & friend Tully Wise Extrs. To daughter Elizabeth Warner £112 which her husband George Warner owes me, it being the money he received of Thomas Evans Esq. on my account. Also 1/3 of … To daughter Yearly Custis Negroes Nathan, Joan, Miriam & Rachel & 1/3 of … To daughter Ann Poulson Negro Shadrack & also 1/3 of … To daughter Yearly Custis & Ann Poulson all the land on Tobacco Island to them except daughter Elizabeth Warner to have the privilage of putting stock thereon. To each daughter Elizabeth, Yearly & Ann all the property in their possession. Negroes Pleasant & Candice shall be free at my death. Pay the woman who shall live with & wait on me at the time of my last sickness & death $20. Remainder to my 2 daughters Yearly Custis & Ann Poulson. Parramore was the security on the M.L.B. of William Belote and Sarah Tankard, daughter of John Tankard dec'd..2 William made a will on 16 October 1788 at Northampton Co, VA. To my son John Tankerd Belote all my land eastward of the seaside county road, except wife to have use during her widowhood. Small acreage adjoining William Harrison, and ns. Judith, old Jacob, Hannah and Nancy to be sold to satisfy debts. Remaining estate to my loving wife during her widowhood and then to be div. by my children Polly, James, and Delitha Belote. John Tankard and my wife (no name) extrs. Witt: William Harmanson, Rickards Dunton, Jr., John Palmer, Jacob Roberts.3 He died before 14 January 1789 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated. The will named extrx. is Sarah Belote.3 He left land in 1789 at tract N64, south of Marionville, N'hamp Co, VA. It was in this year that the will of William Belote (wife Sarah) directed that a small acreage west of the road be sold and left the balance of his plantation to a son John T. Belote. The land thus left was a consolidation of the original Belote family land with the part obtained from the Tankard estate. In 1824 the sheriff sold a plantation of 375 acres for the account of John T. Belote, who was "desirous of relieving his body from prison."4

The slave was heired by John Floyd, son and heir, still an infant. 1/3 of the Slave's value was set apart for the widow (Anne). Since John is an infant he cannot be compelled to divide the slave without a Court order, John agrees to a division. The Rent Rolls 1666-1723 showed Francis Thorogood in possession of 500 acres of Hog Quarter.4 He was in procession of land report circa 1700 at Buckingham, Worcester Co, MD. The Rent Rolls 1666-1723 showed Francis Thorogood in possession of 350 acres of Buckingham. In 1740 Francis Thorogood Drummond, eldest son of Rose, sold 700 acres to William Fassitt.5 He married Ann Brittingham, daughter of William Brittingham Sr. and Elizabeth (?) Williams (Williams?), before 6 September 1705.2 Francis made a will on 8 June 1714 at Bath Co, NC. He devised to wife Ann, in case she remained a widow until the youngest child was of age, and five children Francis, Adam, Sarah, Ann and Early. and gave 5 shillings to Rose, a former daughter of my former wife.2 Francis died before March 1716 at Bath Co, NC.2
