According to Whitelaw, Peggy Mathews' brother William had died and she married Robins Mapp and they became the owners of all the land from her father, Custis Mathews', estate, which was part of N66 between Bridgetown and Marionville. This included both the 100 acres where his mother-in-law (step-mother) lived and the 150 acre home place. Somewhat later, a survey of some adjacent land showed that they had been succeeded by a son William M. Mapp. In early days the branch was always called Dolby's Branch but later, as now, for obvious reasons it became Mapp Branch. The home, N66A, was the location of the Mapp home called Willow Grove, but the old house has been gone for years..^2,3 Robins was the security on a M.L.B. On 24 July 1795 at Northampton Co, VA. A substantial house must have been built (tract N88B) on the land called Bush Hill during the Mapp ownership, but it has long since gone..⁴ On 4 Aug 1803 Robins Mapp, guardain of John Gilding gave consent for him to marry Nancy Core.² Robins sold land in 1807 at Northampton Co, VA. It was in this year that Robins & Peggy Mapp sold part of Whitelaw's tract N52 to John W. Kendall. According to Whitelaw, in 1720 Robert Howson left his 300 acre part of N52 to his godson Howson Mapp. In 1773 Howson Mapp and wife Elizabeth sold to John Kendall and 11 years later he and his wife Sarah sold to Bennett Tompkins. Nothing more was found about him, but in 1799 his brother John Tompkins and wife Frances sold to Robins Mapp, who in turn sold it in 1807 as stated above..⁵ Robins died in March 1810. Administration of Robins's estate was filed on 9 April 1810 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that William R. Finney was named to settle the estate of Robins Mapp (N'hamp Order Bk 35, p. 132). Appraisers were Tully R. Wise, Thomas Jacob, John B. Thomas and John C. West. Audit and Settlement was recorded 14 Dec 1812, William R. Finney administrator (N'hamp Will Bk 33, p. 411-413). On May 11,1812 John Mapp was appointed to replace William R. Finney as administrator (N'hamp Ordre Bk 35, p. 269).

     Margaret was born circa 1775 at Northampton Co, VA. Margaret was named in her father's will on 26 October 1784 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as a daughter Peggy Matthews in the will of Custis Matthews and given Negro men Isaac and Sam and Negro boy James..³ She married Robins Mapp, son of Col. John Mapp and Elizabeth 'Betty' Jacob, on 14 January 1789 at Northampton Co, VA. Edward Robins was the security on the M.L.B. of Robins Mapp and Margaret Mathews. Benjamin Dunton gave consent (for Marg't?). According to Whitelaw, Peggy Mathews' brother William had died and she married Robins Mapp and they became the owners of all the land from her father, Custis Mathews', estate, which was part of N66 between Bridgetown and Marionville. This included both the 100 acres where his mother-in-law (step-mother) lived and the 150 acre home place. Somewhat later, a survey of some adjacent land showed that they had been succeeded by a son William M. Mapp. In early days the branch was always called Dolby's Branch but later, as now, for obvious reasons it became Mapp Branch. The home, N66A, was the location of the Mapp home called Willow Grove, but the old house has been gone for years..^4,5 Margaret was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1820 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as Margaret Mapp, a head of household, age over 45 years. Listed with her were 1 male, age to 16; 1 male. age to 26 and 1 female, to 16..⁶ Margaret was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1830 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as Margaret Mapp, a head of household, age 50-60. Listed with her were 3 males 20-30, 1 male 30-40, 1 female 5-10, 1 female 10-15..⁷ Margaret died before 1835.

     Esther was born in 1812 at Northampton Co, VA.³ Esther was listed with another family in the census of 1850 at Northampton Co, VA. She was shown as Ester Floyd, age 38 in HH#453 headed by William M. Mapp, a 57 year old farmer.⁴ She married William M. Mapp, son of Robins Mapp and Margaret 'Peggy' (202) Matthews, on 15 November 1856 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as William M. Mapp, a 63 year old widowed farmer, born & living in N'hamp Co, the son of Robins & Peggy Mapp and she was shown as Esther K. Mapp.⁴ In 1818 the land of Thomas James, dec'd, was surveyed as 398 1/2 acres for division among his heirs and John C. Mapp received 18 acres and the dwelling in right of his wife Cassandra James. Michael James left at his death the following brothers & sisters: Bridget James & Susan Savage, formerly Susan James who were sisters of the whole blood to said Michael James; and five brothers & sisters of the half blood, viz: Thomas James, Robert James, Peggy Bool, Elizabeth Savage and John Ewing. The said Thomas James has died intestate leaving as his heirs-at-law his children Elizabeth the wife of James Poulson, Cassanddra the wife John C. Mapp, Rosey the wife of Jeptha Johnson, Robert James, Ann Jacob, Petty Savage and one grandchild Margaret James the wife of John S.
