     William was born circa 1625 at Brinton, Co Norfolk, England.² He married Ruth (-----) on 29 February 1644 at Norwich, England.³ After his first wife Ruth and his infant son William died in England, he sailed as an indentured servant to Edward Drew in the late summer of 1650 on the Peter and John with his new master. He began his live in Virginia as an indentured servant and became the Speaker of the House of Burgesses. He was a senior justice of the N'hamp Co Court, Colonel in the militia and one of the wealthiest men on the Eastern Shore.² William was named as an heir on 22 October 1654 at Northampton Co, VA. They were probably married before coming to Virginia for both were listed as headrights for land in Northampton County patented on 31 Mar 1658. Her surname is believed to have been Haddon..² Richard Nottingham I took the oath of allegiance to hereby engage and promise to be true and faithful to the Commonwealth of England as it is now established without King or House of Lords on 30 March 1651 at Northampton Co, VA. A substantial house must have been built (tract N88B) on the land called Bush Hill during the Mapp ownership, but it has long since gone..⁴ John was named as the executor of a will on 15 June 1774 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that John Mapp & John Darby were named extrs. to the estate of John Blair..⁷ N'hamp Minute Book 1777-1783 records a reference to Captain John Mapp's Company dated 12 Aug 1777 and a recommendation that he be elevated to lieutenant dated 8 Dec 1778. In N'hamp Wills vol. 27, p. 10 reference is made to the estate of Colonel John Mapp dec'd. This is dated 21 Jul 1783 and Betty Mapp is the administrator.⁸ In the summer of 1781 Colonel Mapp was commissioned as County Lieutenant of N'hamp County. This was the highest militia office in the county and Colonel Mapp was responsible directly to the Governor of Virginia for the militia's activities. He served in this capacity until his death and had taken part in at least on court martial of an Eastern Shore citizen who was selling supplies to the British in Chesapeake Bay.⁹ John died in May 1783.¹⁰ Administration of John's estate was filed on 10 June 1783 at Northampton Co, VA.      Robins was born circa 1704 at Northampton Co, VA. Robins was named as an heir on 19 February 1708 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as Robins Mapp and given a remaining share of the estate of Samuell Palmer, along with Samuell Mapp, John Mapp Jr., Sarah Custis Mathews, and Palmer Kendall. (NOTE: Samuel Mapp was the grandson of Palmer's then wife Sarah by her daughter Esther Mathews, so perhaps Robins was also a grandson that was not otherwise named.).¹

     Caleb was born circa 1740. He married Mary (62) Bradford, daughter of Fisher (19) Bradford and Mary Millechoppe, between 1763 and 1771 at Accomack Co, VA.^1,2,3 Caleb Harrison bought land in 1774. It was in this year that Caleb Harrison bought from George Bradford, cousin of his wife Mary Bradford, 40 acres of land in Bradford's Neck, beginning at a pine tree called the Eagle Pine, for 50 lbs current money, and 50 acres in 1775.³ Caleb witnessed a will on 5 September 1781 at Accomack Co, VA. John Core, Caleb Harrison and Thomas Teackle witnessed the will of Arthur Upshur. Upshur was a neighbor who lived in Upshur's Neck, the south end of the coastal peninsula, consisting of Bradford's Neck and Upshur's Neck, which peninsula was separated from the mainland by the Machipongo River.^4,3 He bought land in 1784. It was in this year that he bought from Edmund Bradford "all Edmund Bradford's land, a mare, 13 head of cattle and all his household furniture." All 3 tracts of land were in Bradford's Neck and were part of the land that had belonged to the first Nathaniel Bradford.³ Caleb was named as an heir on 26 November 1790 at Accomack Co, VA. Since his wife was not mentioned in his will she evidenlty died before he did..^6,3 Caleb died before 17 October 1797 at Accomack Co, VA.⁶

     Mary was born circa 1750 at Accomack Co, VA.
