Joseph was born circa 1710 at Accomack Co, VA. He married Mary (-----) circa 1744.2 Proof has not been found that Joseph was a son of Samuel & Sarah Beach, but Whitelaw says that Joseph Beach should belong to the family which settled in this vicinity. Joseph was not mentioned in court records as son of Samuel, but in 1746, very soon after the settlement of the estate of Samuel, Joseph bought the part of the Cottels Ridge land that the first Samuel sold to Samuel Benson. For 20 pounds current money Samuel Benson sells to Joseph Beach land which Samuel Benson Sr. bought of the first Samuel Beach, lying next to land of Benjamin Beach, known by the name of Cottels Ridge.1 He made a will on 27 August 1769 at Accomack Co, VA. To son Kendal Beach land where I now live, & for want of issue land to be sold & the proceeds div. bet. my 3 daus. Sophia, Mary & Sarah. Grandson Abel Mears. Wife Mary & 3 daus. resid. legatees. Son & wife Exrs. Witt: John Spires, Robert Spires. Edwards also reports that he gave to son Kendall all my wheelwright tools, all my cypress tools, all my tree hoops, one grndstone, and one gun. To daughter Sophia he gave furniture, one weaving loom, one spinning linin wheel, one quill wheel and the newest chest in the house. To daughter Mary furniture and a cow; to grandson Abel Mears one case of bottles and one pair silver knee buckles. To daughter Sarah a bed with trundle bed, one oval table, one chest, one looking glass and one hand mill..2,1 Joseph died before 26 May 1772 at Accomack Co, VA.2
