Overall of Huntsville, AL proves that this is the same Solomon Mason, who was a head of household in Guilford Co, NC in the 1800 census, age over 45. Mr. Overall's assumptions were validated by DNA tests of Robert T. Mason (1915-____) (DNA Kit #28425), a proven descendant of this Solomon Mason and Homer Hastings Mason (1924-2008) (DNA Kit #50549), whose family remained in Accomack Co and was a proven descendant of William Mason (1664-1710), of Accomack Co, VA, who was the grandfather of this Solomon Mason..¹ Solomon was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1800 at Guilford County, NC. He was shown as Solomon Mason, age over 45, with 1 male age 16-26, 2 males age 0-10, 1 female age over 45, 3 females age 16-26, 1 female age 10-16, & 1 female age 0-10. (NOTE: The male age 16-26 may have been Solomon Mason II, who was either his son or grandson, the son of his son John Mason, wife Barasheba.).²

She was apparently the mother of his older children and it is likely he married a second time after her death. He named no wife in his will..¹

When his father died in 1766, Thomas Mason heired the 150 acres of his father's land near Onancock Greek "adjoining the White Marsh where he now lives". On 1 January 1774, Jacob Mason gave Thomas Mason a quitclaim to the White Marsh land (Deeds 1770 - 1777, p. 290). They were both called here "sons of Bennet Mason"..¹ Thomas sold land before 25 February 1778 at Accomack Co, VA. Mason); George Mason (died testate 1815, wife Suffiah, son Edmund Mason); and Adam Mason (died intestate 1833, son William Mason). His name appears on the 1800 census and on a deed, with his wife, Ann on 6 August 1804 (Deeds DC 1804 - 1807, p. 116), but he was not named in his wife's will of 10 Jan 1805 nor listed in the 1810 census..

     Tabitha was born circa 1725 at Accomack Co, VA. She married Thomas Mason, son of Bennett Mason and Bridget Bagwell, circa 1745. Tabitha died before 1780.

     Caleb was born circa 1750 at Accomack Co, VA. On 30 October 1759 Caleb Mason, orphan of Tabitha, aged 9 years or there about, was bound out to Peter Hack, shoemaker (Orders 1753 - 1763, p. 313). There seems little doubt that Caleb was Thomas Mason's son, for the Hacks were of Hacks Neck, near Onancock Creek, and in the early 1800's a Bennet Mason of Caleb and Thomas Mason of Caleb were both issued marriage bonds (MLB 1806 - 1832, p. 93).
