He was only 4 years old, but his father's will provided for the executors to see that there was money to pay for his schooling..1,4 On 28 Jan 1799 Francis Ayres and Edmund Ayres were securities on the administration of the estate of Levin White to Sally White.5 He married Keziah 'Cassie' Johnson, daughter of Obedience Johnson Sr. and Rachel Bunting, on 8 March 1800 at Northampton Co, VA. William Johnson was the security on the M.L.B. of Edmund Ayres and Cassa Johnson. They were married by J. Elliott. According to Turman, they lived and reared their family on original Ayres land in the Hunting Creek area. The E.B. Ayres Bible shows they were married on 22 Mar 1800..6,2,7 Edmund was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1800 at St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Edmund Ayres, a head of household, aged 26-45 (b.c. 1755-1774). Listed with him were 2 male aged 16-26; 1 female aged 26-45; 1 female aged 45+ and 2 slaves..8 Edmund was named in his mother's will on 7 August 1800 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as a son Edmund Ayres in the will of Ann Ayres and give my still that he now has in his possession and one bed and furniture and the rest of my furniture.
