The tax records for Somerset County in 1730, 1733 and 1734 show Ephriam Vessells is shown as a dependent in the home of James Vessells. (NOTE: The assumption is that he had become age 16 in order to be listed as a dependent.).2 Ephraim bought land in 1749 at Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Ephraim Vessells bought 50 acres of tract A109 (west of Parksley) from Mark and Sarah Ewell. He also bought another 2 acres of A109 from Richard Justice (Whitelaw, p. 1108-9). In 1767 Ephraim Vessells bought 15 acres of A111 (near Guilford) from Benjamin and Susannah Royal (Whitelaw, p. 1114)..3 Ephraim was named in his father's will on 7 April 1751 at Fisher's Island, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as a son Ephraim Vessels in the will of James Vessels Sr., living on Fisher's Island, wife Elizabeth. He was given 1 shilling..1 On 30 Jul 1753 in Acc Co Ephraim Wessells, James Wessells, Mark Ewell and William Andrews witnessed a deed from James Wessells to Edmund Linton.4 Ephraim was named as the executor of a will on 10 October 1760 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Mark Ewell named his wife Tabitha & Ephraim Vessells as extrs. of his will..5 He married Ann (-----) circa 1765.6 He made a will on 21 December 1773 at Accomack Co, VA. In his will written 20 Sep 1813 he named: a wife Amey; sons Ephraim, Isaac, Thomas (Thomas got the 85 acres purchased from Thomas Cropper, guardian to the heirs of my brother Elijah Wessels); daughters Nancy Wessels and Polly Onions; executors were his 3 sons Ephraim, Issac and Thomas. Witnesses were John Wessels Senr., Robert Taylor and Charles Bagwell. Securities for probate were John Wessells, Isaiah Johnson, and Robert Taylor. Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday, July 5th, conducted by Rev. C.C. Elzey and Rev. E.C. Wilmer and interment was in Grotons Cemetery. The active pallbears were Messrs Newman White, Wm. White, Orville Williams, Carlton White, Marvin White and Franklin White; Honorary - Misses Novella White, Thedis Grace White, Huldana Bull, Doris Mae Bull, Margaret White, Emma Jane White, Gertrude White, Theola White, Mrs. Martha Miller and Mrs. Virginia White. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth White, a daughter, Mrs. Lacy Williams, of Sanford, seven sons, Messrs. Levin, Royal, Tillery, Hugh, Mitchell, Harvey and Weldon White, a sister, Mrs. Sallie Shaw, of Chester, Pa., tow brothers Messrs. William White, of Florida, and Webster White, of Crisfield, five half-sisters, Mrs. Alberta White, of Poulson, Mrs. Hettie Ann Simpson and Mrs. Floretta Chesser and Mrs. Melissa Stevenson, of Nassawadox, three half-brothers, Messrs. Charles J. Simpson, of Withams, Leonard Simpson, of Exmore, and Ernest Simpson, of Bloxom, Va., 32 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. (Pen. Ent., 7 Jul 1939)..4

Walter was born circa 1810. He married Elizabeth Trader, daughter of Littleton Archibald Trader and Mary Houston Feddeman, on 8 August 1836 at Worcester Co, MD.2 Walter was named in his grandfather's will on 21 September 1838 at Accomack Co, VA.
