     George Savage died testate in 1791, leaving his sister, Ann Bunting, 40 acres adjacent to Henry Wright's plantation (Wills 1788 - 1794, p. 450). This tract is shown by the survey of 1793, as Henry Wright's "in right of his wife". Ann and George were two of the children of William Savage, who died testate in 1781 (Wills 1780 - 1784, p. 119). On 25 July 1800" Henry Right and wife Nancy sold to William Right, "brother of said Henry', the land he got from his father, for 25 pounds (Deeds 1800 - 1804, p. 82). The 1800 Federal Census gives Henry Wright of Henry as 26 to 45 years of age. and they had a son and two daughters under 10 years. His wife was the same age. Two older females in their household were likely Henry's wife's by her first marriage. In 1810, Henry Wright was again 26 to 45 years old. A male in his household was under 10 years. This Henry Wright was apparently deceased by 1820, for his widow, Ann Wright, was head of a household, which included two males, one 16 to 26 and another at 26 to 45 years, and a female 16 to 26 years of age. She was shown as Mary Ann Finney, one of 3 daughers, in the will of William Finney of Metompkin. She was evidently dec'd when her husband wrote his will.⁶ Mary was buried at Modest Town Baptist Church Cemeter, Modest Town, Acc Co, VA.⁶

     Sarah was born on 4 May 1793 at Accomack Co, VA.² As of 8 April 1819,her married name was Laws.¹ She married Rev. William Laws, son of John Laws Sr. and Adah Core, 08 Apr 1819 (bond) at Accomack Co, VA. Robert Townsend and Levin Core were the securities on the M.L.B. of William Laws of John and Sarah Robins of Thomas..¹ Sarah Robins died on 17 March 1820 at age 26.² Sarah was buried at Accomack Co, VA. When John Laws Sr. made his will on 12 Aug 1837 he reservered 1/8 acre for a family grave yard along the road leading from his house to the upper field, the stone placed at the head of the grave of Sally Laws dec'd, wife of Williams Laws, to be exactly in the center.³

It was on this date that administration on the estate of Eleanor Delastatius was granted to William Delastatius with John Henderson & Samuel Henderson securities.³ William was named in his great-uncle's will on 10 January 1811 at Accomack Co, VA. Polly Delastatious, widow of Peter, is dead. William Delastatious, son of Joseph Delastatious, died intestate leaving Peter and John Delastatious his only heirs, and Polly, Esther & Betsey Waltham, devisees of Peter Delastatious died intestate leaving William Waltham and Sally Waltham, now Sally or Sarah Hayward, their only heirs.⁹ He was shown to be related to a Rev War vetran on 27 May 1834 at Accomack Co, VA. William Delastatious, devisee of Joseph Delastatious, died intestate and without issue and Ezekiel Delastatious has been absent from this county and unheard of for more then 7 years and is supposed to have died intestate. William & Ezekiel left Peter and John Delastatious their only heirs at law.¹⁰

William S. Tunnell was the security on the M.L.B. of William Delastatius and Ann Russell of Robert..³ She married Rev. William Laws, son of John Laws Sr. and Adah Core, on 26 March 1821 at Accomack Co, VA. John Laws Jr. and Robert Townsend were the securities on the M.L.B. of William Laws, widower, and Nancy Dillastatrus, widow of William..³ As of 26 March 1821,her married name was Laws.³ Ann 'Nancy' Russell died on 29 July 1822 at Laws Cemetery, Modest Town, Acc Co, VA, at age 25.² Ann was buried at Laws Cemetery, Modest Town, Acc Co, VA. Her tombstone shows her as Ann Laws, wife of Wm., who died 29 Jul 1822 at the age of 25 years, 5 months & 25 days.² Ann was named as an heir on 1 October 1822 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that it was brought out in a land cause of Laws vs. Russell, a partition suit, that Robert Russell had died in 1821 seized of several tracts of land containing about 475 acres and left the following children, exclusive of his son Henry, viz: John C. Russell, Robert Russell, Sally Russell, Samuel Russell and Nancy Laws, the wife of William Laws, who has since died leaving Robert Russell Laws her only child.⁴

He was shown as my nephew John Jackson Laws and named an Extr. in the will of Zorobabel Lasw, wife Elizabeth.² He married Mary S.M. (-----) circa 1855.³ John was listed as a head of household in the census of 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as John J. Laws the head of HH#737, age 29 & farming with personal proberty valued at $1,000. Listed with him was Mary S. Laws, age 15 and Willie T.M. Laws, age 4.⁴ He died before 30 October 1876 at Ottawa, Franklin Co, Kansas. It was on this date that his will was probated in Accomack Co, VA.³

'Alicia' Long, daughter of Thomas Long and Mary Elizabeth Lippencott, on 7 September 1866 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as William R. Laws, a 27 year old physician, born in Acc Co & living in Mt. Plesant, Iowa, the son of Wm & Sally Laws and she was shown as Alicia C. Long, age 23, the daughter of Thomas & Mary E. Long.³

     Martin was born on 2 August 1842 at Accomack Co, VA.² Martin was listed with his parents in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Martin Z. Laws, age 6 in HH#202 headed by Wm. Laws, a 54 year old baptist clergyman..¹ Martin was listed with his parents in the census of 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Martin G. Laws, age 18 in HH#1037 headed by Wm. Laws, a 64 year old Baptist Preacher.³ He married Virginia A. Lucas, daughter of Southy T. Lucas and Ann 'Nancy' White, on 31 January 1866 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as Martin L. Laws, a 23 year old student, the son of Wm. & Mary Ann Laws and she was shown as Virginia A. Lucas, age 22, the daughter of Southey T. & Ann Lucas. They were married by P. Warren..⁴ Rev. Martin Luther Laws sold land on 20 November 1866 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Martin L. Laws and Virginia C., of Ottawa, Franklin Co, Kansas, sold to Oliver J. Lucas (her brother) of Accomack Co, VA, for $3,000, 2 1/2 acres in the village of Modest Town. It was probably the family storehouse at Modest Town.⁵ He married Gertrude A. Taylor, daughter of Brooking Tudor Taylor and Mary Bell Alexander, on 25 December 1872 at Boonville, MO.² Rev. Martin Luther Laws died on 3 May 1882 at Decatur, Illinois, at age 39. Rev. M.L. Laws, pastor of the First Baptist Church, of Decatur, Illinois, died at that place on the 3rd inst. The deceased was born in Accomac County in 1842 and was the son of Rev. Wm. Laws, a prominent Baptist minister of this county. He graduated at the Brown University, Rhode Island, in 1864. After spending a while in the copper mines on Lake Superior he returned to Accomac in 1866 and was married in that year to Miss Virginia A. Lucas, of this county, and for a year or so after that time was in the drug business in Iowa and Kansas. In 1870 he entered the ministry and after a career of usefulness in that capacity in Missouri until 1881, accepted a call to the First Baptist Church, where he terminated his labors. He was married a second time to a Miss Taylor and leaves 3 children. (P.E., May 1882).⁵ Martin was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Decatur, IL.²
