Ragon, widow of Henry M. Ragon, living at 854 Wash. St.³ The 1907 Bath, Maine City Directory lists only the following Ragons: Harry E. Ragon, dentist, 109 Front (office?), 854 Wash. St. (residence?); Mary E. Ragon, widow of Henry M. Ragon, living at 854 Wash. St.⁴ Harry was listed as a head of household in the census of 1910 at Washington Street, Bath, Sagadahoc Co, ME. He was shown as Harry E. Ragon the head of HH#112, family #112, a 45 year old dentist. He had been divorced for 5 years and had 1 child and 1 child was living. Listed with him were Theos P. Ragon, a 14 year old son, and Mary E. Ragon, a 65 year old widowed mother, who had been married 38 years and given birth to 1 child and had 1 child living.⁵ According to a letter written by T. Paul Ragon on 15 Apr 1973 to Wilbur F. Higgins Jr. of Bath Savings Institution, 105 Front St., Bath, ME, his father Dr. Harry Edward Ragon, remarried before World War One, opened an office and moved to Biddeford, ME. T. Paul Ragon visited his father early in 1917 before he went overseas and that was the last time he saw his father. When he returned from the War he could not locate him.

She was born Oct 1876 in Maine. Her father was born in Canada and her mother was born in Maine. She had been married for 6 years and given birth to 3 children and 2 were living.¹ Harry E. Ragon and Maude M. Ragon were divorced on 2 Jan 1904 in Bath, Sagadahoc Co, ME. A minor child, Theos Paul Ragon, was named in the decree. Maud was listed with her husband in the census of 1920 at Bath, Sagadahoc Co, ME. She was shown as Maud P.(?) Dickinson, a 45 year old wife, doing laundary, in HH#79 of Ward 5, headed by Issac W.      Lloyd was born on 24 October 1915 at Knoxville, Tioga Co, PA.¹ This Bush family came from France to Canada, then to Vermont and then to Pennsylvania. Lloyd's father died from influenza when Lloyd was only 4 years old. He married Edna 'Jane' Matteson, daughter of Jesse Lynn Matteson and Grace Antoinette Yaeger, on 26 August 1939 at Ilion, Herkimer Co, PA.¹ Lloyd died on 11 August 1979 at Woodbridge, Prince William Co, VA, at age 63.¹

     Edna was born on 16 December 1917 at Westfield, PA.¹ As of 26 August 1939,her married name was Bush.² She married Lloyd Lenore Bush, son of Russell L. Bush and Alda Bell Coe, on 26 August 1939 at Ilion, Herkimer Co, PA.² Edna died on 30 October 1999 at Potomac Hospital, Woodbridge, VA, at age 81.¹

     Jesse was born on 28 August 1884 at Westfield, PA. He married Grace Antoinette Yaeger, daughter of Francis Xavier 'Frank' Jaeger and Adelaide 'Addie' Fausey, on 4 February 1906 at Binghamton, NY. Jesse began his career as a driver for a tannery in Westfield, PA. He took a chance and bought a hotel in Westfield and turned it into a garage which he operated from 1917 until 1934. When prohibition ended, he thought he could make more profit by converting the garage into a restaurant. He ran the restaurant until he sold it in 1936. In 1938 Jesse and his wife Grace moved to Williamsburg, VA and built the first modern motor court there, naming it The Carolynn. They sold the motor court and moved to Alexanderia, VA and established the Matteson Tourist Court, which was profitable during the War years. This is now the Mt. Vee Motel on Richmond Highway. After the War, they moved back to Williamsburg, VA and built The Tioga, another tourist court. In May 1951 their daughter Jane and her husband Lloyd came to help with the business. Threee days later Jesse had a stroke and eventually died. Jesse died on 1 March 1952 at Williamsburg, VA, at age 67. His body was interred at Champlin Cem, Westfield, PA.

     Grace was born on 29 September 1884 at Westfield, Tioga Co, PA.¹ She married Jesse Lynn Matteson, son of Judson Matteson and (-----) (-----), on 4 February 1906 at Binghamton, NY. Grace died on 5 October 1977 at Westfield, Tioga Co, PA, at age 93.¹ Her body was interred at Champlin Cem, Westfield, PA.

     Francis was born on 17 May 1855 at College Point, Flushing, Queens Co, NY.¹ Francis lived circa 1870 at Germania, Potter Co, PA. Francis lived circa 1880 at Westfield, PA. He married Adelaide 'Addie' Fausey, daughter of F. J. Fausey, on 29 August 1881 at Westfield, PA. In 1887 Frank went to manage the Crary Tannery in Hancock, NY, across the northeastern Pennsylvania border. Five years later he moved to Stokesdale, PA, as forman of a tannery there and the family lived in nearby Wellsboro. In 1895 when Frank Eberle, his sister Mary's husband, was dying he asked Frnak to take over the Eberle Tannery until his son Joe would be old enough to assume the management. Frank agreed. Joe took over the management of the plant in 1898 and Frank stayed on as forman until he died in 1923.¹ Francis died on 7 April 1923 at Westfield, Tioga Co, PA, at age 67.¹ His body was interred at Mt. Pleasant Cem, Westfield, PA.
