     Geodiah was born circa 1806 at Accomack Co, VA.⁴ Geodiah was named as an heir on 27 February 1826 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Geodiah Bell, orphan, was awarded $1.32 in the settlement of the estate of Nancy Bell..² He married Elizabeth Kellam, daughter of Isaiah Kellam, on 16 July 1828 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ On 18 Feb 1833 it was recorded in N'hamp Co, VA, that ten-six hundredth (10/600) of the estate of John T. Elliott was purchased by George H. & Lorenzo D. Bell from Geodiah Bell the younger, Thos. Bell & George Bell, who were only children of George Bell dec'd who was one of the children of Nancy Bell dec'd, a Paternal Aunt of John T. Elliott. (NOTE: According to the settlement of the estate of Nancy Bell, wife of George Bell in 1824-1826, Savage Bell was also a son of George Bell.).⁵ Geodiah was named in a land cause on 29 May 1833 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as Geodiah Bell, a child of George Bell, dec'd, who was a child of _____ Bell and Nancy, his wife, who was formerly Nancy Elliott who died in the life time of her nephew John T. Elliott, who died intestate in N'hamp Co, VA, some 10 years earlier. However, on the 25 day of January, 1829, the aforesaid Thomas Bell and Geodiah Bell and Elizabeth, his wife, by deed of that date, and afterwards, viz: on the 29 December, 1830, the aforesaid George Bell by deed of that date (which said Thomas. Geodiah and George Bell are, as aforesaid, the children of George Bell, dec., who was a son as aforesaid of the aforesaid -----Bell and Nancy, his wife, who was a paternal aunt of the whole blood of the said John T. Elliott, dec.) conveyed to George H. Bell and Lorenzo D. Bell all the right, title and interest to which they were entitled of, in and to the aforesaid real estate of the said John T.      Mary was born in 1896 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She married Lorenzo Thomas Marshall, son of William Thomas Marshall and Sallie A. Bell, on 22 December 1912 at Baptist Church, Makemie Park, Acc Co, VA.^1,2 As of 22 December 1912,her married name was Marshall.¹ Mary was listed with her husband in the census of 1920 at State Road, West Rockhill, Bucks Co, PA. She was shown as Mary J. Marshall, a 23 year old wife, born in VA, in HH#83 headed by Lorenzo T. Marshall, a 28 year old farmer born in VA.³

     James was born on 5 May 1914 at Temperanceville, Accomack Co, VA.² James was listed with his parents in the census of 1920 at State Road, West Rockhill, Bucks Co, PA. He was shown as James T. Marshall, a 6 year old son, born in VA, in HH#83 headed by Lorenzo T. Marshall, a 28 year old farmer born in VA.³ He married Dorothy Frances Mariner, daughter of Virgil Clyde Mariner and Letha Violet Culver, in 1936.¹ He resided at, at Princess Anne, Som Co, MD.¹ James died on 13 January 2009 at Salisbury, Wicomico Co, MD, at age 94.²

     Dorothy was born on 4 March 1916 at Princess Anne, Som Co, MD.¹ She married James Thomas Marshall, son of Lorenzo Thomas Marshall and Mary Powell Jarvis Grinnalds, in 1936.¹ Dorothy died on 14 February 1999 at P.G. Hospital, Salisbury, Wic Co, MD, at age 82. Dorothy Frances Marriner Marshall died in Salisbury on Sunday, 14 Feb 1999. She was the daughter of the late Virgil Clyde Marriner and the late Letha Violet Culver of Princess Anne. In 1931 she graduated from Washington High School in Princess Anne and in 1936 married James T. Marshall. They had five children. She was survived by her husband of 63 years, James T. Marshall, who is living at Senior Quarters in Salisbury. She is also survived by five children: a daughter Jean M. Metz and her husband Joe of Princess Anne; a daughter Doris E. Bailey and her husband Major of Mardella Springs; son Wayne T. Marshall and his wife Marilyn of Salisbury; sons Michael V. Marshall and Edd Farrell of Arlington, VA; and a daughter Lynn M. Prado and husband Leon of Salisbury. Her two surviving sisters are Violet Peterman and her husband Hamp of Princess Anne aand Virginia Brown and her husband Joe of Hebron. The also were blessed with 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, living in Arizonia, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland..¹

     Lee A. Marshall's marriage license in Somerset Co shows his name as "Leander". Mr. Lee A. Marshall died at Mekemie Park on 15 Jun 1941, aged 70 years, survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 20 Jun 1941). Leander was born in 1870 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Martha A. 'Marthy' Lewis, daughter of Raymond R. Lewis Sr. and Catherine Marshall, on 24 December 1888 at Somerset Co, MD.² Leander was living in 1927 at Mekemie Park, Acc Co, VA.³ Leander died on 15 June 1941 at Mekemie Park, Acc Co, VA.⁴ His body was interred at Groton's Cem, Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.⁵

     William was born on 4 May 1894 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ William died in 1924.² His body was interred at Quinby Cem, Acc Co, VA.²

     Amelia was born in March 1891 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Conflicting evidence states that Amelia was born in 1892.² She married James C. Smith circa 1910.³ Amelia died in 1948.² Her body was interred at Groton's Cem, Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.²

     Her body was interred at Quinby Cem, Acc Co, VA.² Nettie was born in 1902 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1910 at Accomack Co, VA.³ She married Robert Lee Lawson, son of George W. Lawson and Ella F. Bundick, on 6 March 1922 at Quinby, Acc Co, VA.¹ Nettie was living in 1942 at Quinby Cem, Acc Co, VA.⁴

     James Henry Marshall's date of death is from his death certificate which also gives the names and birthplaces of both of his parents with L.A. Marshall as the informant. His Acc Co marriage record shows his parents to be Wm. H. Marshall and Mealy A. his wife. James was born in 1863 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Julia A. Smith on 27 December 1899 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA.² He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1910 at Accomack Co, VA.³ James died on 25 October 1924.¹

     Julia was born circa 1866 at Accomack Co, VA.² She married James Henry Marshall, son of William Marshall and Pamelia S. Knight, on 27 December 1899 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA.³ She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1910 at Accomack Co, VA.²

     Anna was born in 1873 at Accomack Co, VA.² She married Arcemous Thomas 'Sem' Bull Sr., son of Robert L. Bull and Sarah Jane Smith, on 10 October 1893 at Temperanceville, Acc Co, VA.      Arcemous was born circa 1873 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Anna J. 'Mary Ann' Marshall, daughter of William Marshall and Pamelia S. Knight, on 10 October 1893 at Temperanceville, Acc Co, VA. He was a 20 year old oysterman and she was aged 19. They were married by J.W. Nicholson..¹ Arcemous died in 1923.² His body was interred at Knight's Cem, Messongo, Acc Co, VA. Arcemous Bull Sr's tombstone at Knight's Cemetery has no dates..³

     Reginald was born in 1901 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was christened on 5 June 1904.³ According to chruch records, Reginald Marshall tooks vows on 9 Jul 1916. Reginald and his wife raised his nephew, Daniel E. Marshall. He married Margaret Elizabeth Mariner, daughter of Thomas L. Mariner and Christine May 'Crissie' Bundick, on 28 December 1921 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD.⁴ Reginald was living on 16 January 1942 at Messongo, Acc Co, VA (Selective Service).⁵ Reginald died in 1967.² His body was interred at J.W. Taylor Cem, Temperanceville, Acc Co, VA.²

     Ida was living at Baltimore, MD. Mrs. Ida Mae White from Messongo died on 10 Mar 1947, aged 67 years, survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 21 Mar 1947). Ida was born on 10 May 1879 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Ida was on the in 1898 roll of the at Meth Ch, Sanford, Acc Co, VA.² She married William J. Taylor, son of Sidney C. Taylor and Ocea (-----), on 4 August 1898 at Accomack Co, VA.³ She married Will White circa 1905.^4,5 Ida died on 10 March 1947 at Messongo, Acc Co, VA, at age 67.⁶ Her body was interred at J.W. Taylor Cem, Temperanceville, Acc Co, VA.⁶

     William was born circa 1875 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Ida May Marshall, daughter of Daniel Boston Marshall and Mary Tressa Bell, on 4 August 1898 at Accomack Co, VA.¹

     Will was living at Baltimore, MD. Will was born circa 1883. He married Ida May Marshall, daughter of Daniel Boston Marshall and Mary Tressa Bell, circa 1905.^1,2

     Mrs. Nona Drucilla Bundick, widow of George T. Bundick, died at her home at Sanford on 3 Dec 1959. She was the daughter of Daniel B. and Mary Bell Marshall. Interment was at J.W. Taylor Cemetery. The only survivor listed was a brother, Reginald T. Marshall of Messongo (Pen. Ent., 10 Dec 1959). Nona was born in 1889 at Accomack Co, VA.² Nona was on the in 1900 roll of the at Pocomoke Meth Ch, Grotons, Acc Co, VA.³ She married George Terry Bundick, son of Horace N. Bundick and Mary P.      John T. Marshall's d.c. 1859 is based on him not being listed in the 1860 Census. John was born on 2 September 1858 at Saxis Island, Acc Co, VA.¹ John died circa 1859.

     Charles was born on 12 January 1852 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.³ Charles was living in 1878 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Isabelle Susan Bell, daughter of Sarah Ann Elizabeth Bell, on 3 November 1878 at Messongo, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Chas. William Marshall, a 25 year old sailor, the son of Robt J. & Eliza J. Marshall and she was shown as Susan Bell, age 22, the daughter of Elizabeth Bell. They were married by J.E. Bundick. The assumption is that this Susan Bell is the same as the Isabelle S. McCready and her full name was Isabelle Susan Bell and her mother's full name was Sarah Ann Elizabeth Bell..⁴ Charles died on 10 October 1903 at age 51.² His body was interred at Knight's Cem, Messongo, Acc Co, VA.²

     Isabelle was born in 1856 at Accomack Co, VA.² Isabelle was listed with her mother in the census of in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Isabella S. McCready, age 5 in HH#667 headed by Geo. R. McCready, a 24 year old oysterman. Also listed was Sarah McCready, age 27, who was evidently her mother. But since Sarah and George McCready were not married until Feb 1860, Isabella was probably not his daughter..³ Isabelle was listed with her mother in the census of in 1870 at Metompkin District, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Isabella Mcready, age 14 in HH#MT351 headed by George Mcready, a 36 year old farmer. Also listed was Sarah Mcready, age 38 who was evidently her mother prior to marring George McCready..⁴ Isabelle was living in 1878 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She married Charles William Marshall, son of Robert J. Marshall and Elizabeth J. Woods, on 3 November 1878 at Messongo, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Chas. William Marshall, a 25 year old sailor, the son of Robt J. & Eliza J. Marshall and she was shown as Susan Bell, age 22, the daughter of Elizabeth Bell. They were married by J.E. Bundick. The assumption is that this Susan Bell is the same as the Isabelle S. McCready and her full name was Isabelle Susan Bell and her mother's full name was Sarah Ann Elizabeth Bell..⁵ Isabelle died on 6 February 1940 at Hallwood, Acc Co, VA. Mrs. Susan Bell Marshall died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.J. Tyler, near Hallwood on 6 Feb 1940, aged 85 years, survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 9 Feb 1940). Susan Bell Marshall died on 8 Feb 1940. Services were at Hall's Chapel by E.C. Wilmer, with interment in the Knight Cemetery. She was a member of the Shilo Baptist Church 50 years.      Robert was born circa 1824 at Messongo, Acc Co, VA.² He married Elizabeth J. Woods, daughter of Alice 'Ally' Woods, on 26 March 1850 at Accomack Co, VA. Samuel T. Taylor and John E. Wise were securities on the M.L.B. of Robert J. Marshall and Elizabeth J. Wood of Ally..³ Robert was listed with another family in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Robert Marshall, a 26 year old laborer in HH#1020 headed by Alice Smith, age 48. Her tombstone shows she was born in 1880..¹ She married Thorogood Dennis Hart, son of Richard Hart and Nancy 'Nannie' Simpson, on 17 July 1898 at Messongo, Acc Co, VA. He was a 42 year old waterman and she was 17. They were married by Charles Clement..² Eliza died in 1967.³ Her body was interred at Parksley Cem, Acc Co, VA.³

     Charles was born on 1 April 1883 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Manie Drummond, daughter of Constantine Drummond Sr. and Susan Chesser, on 27 May 1912 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA.² Charles was living on 10 September 1943 at Makemie Park, Acc Co, VA.³

     Samuel was born in February 1885 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Samuel died on 23 December 1886 at age 1.¹

     Samuel was born on 5 March 1889 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Addie Marshall, daughter of Oscar R. Marshall Jr. and Clarenda Wilkerson, on 15 December 1912 at Somerset Co, MD.^2,3 Samuel was living in 1940 at Beaver Dam, Worcester Co, MD.⁴ Samuel died on 10 September 1943 at P.G. Hospital, Salisbury, Wic Co, MD, at age 54. Mr. Samuel S. Marshall, age 51 of New Church, died on 10 Sep 1943 in P.G. Hospital. Services were by Revs. Dailey and McKeawn on 13 Sep with interment in Groton's Cemetery. Survivors were listed (E.S. News, 17 Sep 1943)..⁵ His body was interred at Groton's Cem, Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.⁶

     Sampson was born circa 1750 at Accomack Co, VA.² He married Mary 'Polly' (-----) circa 1770.³ Sampson Marshall's name appeared on the Acc Co 1784 tax list, grouped with 4 of his brothers. He was on the 1787 tax list "A" with no white males 16-20, which implied that he had no sons born before 1771. His only tithables were 1 horse or mule and 2 head of cattle. On 1 Nov 1787 he was a defendent in a suit "William Warrington administrator of Joseph Warrington vs. John Parks and Sampson Marshall" (Acc Orders 1787-1790, p. 50). In 1790 he was a juror (Acc Orders 1787-1790, p. 583). On 24 Nov 1794 his name appeared as witness to a Beavens/Absolem Lewis deed involving land near the mouth of Muddy Creek (Acc Deed 1793-1797, p. 217). On 23 May 1795 he purchased 100 acres of land and marsh from Arthur Watson for 3 pounds 10 shillings. It was at the mouth of Cattail Creek, running a south course to include the Indian Ridge and the Cross Ridge together with all improvements appurtaining (Acc Deeds 1793-1797, p. 278). Sampson's oldest son, Henry Marshall, witnessed the deed. On May 15, 1800 he and his wife Mary sold this same 100 acres to Absalom Lewis for 4 pounds 10 shillings (Acc D.C. Wills & Deeds 1800-1806, p. 29). The 1800 Census shows Sampson Marshall "Saxis I.," as over 45 years old (50). His oldest son Henry was not in Sampson's household in 1800 as he was listed separately as Henry Marshall "C.T." assumed to mean Cattail. His 2 daughters were both married and out of the house before 1800. There were 5 other males in Sampson's household: 1 under 10 (Sampson's grandson son Isaac, 6, s/o Robert), 2 aged 10-16 (Sampson, 15, & Samuel, 15), and 2 aged 16-26 (Robert, 25 and John, 20). There were 3 females: 1 under 10 (Sampson's granddaughter Elizabeth, 4, d/o Robert), 1 aged 16-26 (Robert's first wife, 25), and 1 aged 26-45 (Sampson's wife Mary, 45). In 1810 Sampson Marshall was again listed as over 45 (60). Evidently his son Robert was still living at home since he was not listed separately. The other males listed were: 1 male 10-16 (Isaac, 16, s/o Robert) and 2 males 16-26 (Sampson, 25 and Robert, 35) who's age does not match). Apparently 2 sons had married between 1800 and 1810 and moved out of the house. This would have been John, who married in 1802, and Samuel, who married in 1809. There were 3 females listed in addition to Sampson wife who was over 45 (55). One was under 10 ((-----) Marshall, 5, d/o Robert and Ester), 1 aged 10-16 (Elizabeth, 14, d/o Robert), and 1 aged 26-45 (Ester, 30, 2nd w/o Robert). A Sampson Marshall appears in 1820 living near Chesire and Lucas families, but since his age was under 45, he was likely Sampson Sr.'s son Sampson Jr. Evidently Sampson Sr. died intestate, without a will or administration, between 1810 and 1820. It appears that his widow Polly (Mary), over 45 years old, was listed next to John Hall and James Chesire in 1820. The descendants of Sampson and Mary Marshall apparently lived in the area of Cattail and Messongo Creeks. Sampson was named in a deed in on 23 May 1795 at on Cattail Creek, Acc Co, VA.⁴ He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1800 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.² Sampson was living at Saxis/Cattail Ck, Acc Co, VA.¹ Sampson died circa 1815 at Accomack Co, VA.⁵

     Mary (-----) Marshall is mentioned as wife of Sampson in a deed of 15 May 1800, when Sampson and wife Mary sold 100 acres at the mouth of Cattail Creek to Absolem Lewis. Her b.c. 1755 is based on being 26-45 in 1800 and the birth of her oldest son Henry, b.c. 1772, when she would have been 17. Mary was born circa 1755.² She married Sampson Marshall Sr., son of Samuel (78) Marshall and Grace Adams, circa 1770.³ As of circa 1770,her married name was Marshall.³ Mary was named in a deed in on 15 May 1800 at on Cattail Creek, Acc Co, VA.¹

Turman's marriage book shows 18 Jul 1795, which may have been the date of the M.L.B..^3,4 Henry Marshall was called "son of Sampson" in 1823, when he was security on the marriage license bond for his daughter Elizabeth's marriage to Dunreath Knight. The 1800 Census lists Henry Marshall "C.T." which is assumed to be Cattail, to be age 16-26 (26) and his wife was also age 16-26 (26). There was a son under 10 (William, 4) and a female under 10 (-----). There was also another male age 16-26, which is unknown. In 1810, Henry was age 26-45 (36) and his wife was age 26-45 (36). There was also a male under 10 (Stephen, 2), a male 10-16 (William, 14), 2 females under 10 (Ann, 5 and Elizabeth, 1), and a female over 45, which is unknown. In 1820, Henry was over 45 (46) and his wife was over 45 (46). There was also a male 10-16 (Stephen, 12), a male 16-26 (William, 24), a female under 10 (Rose, 3), and 2 females 16-26 (Ann, 15 and Elizabeth, 11). He also had 2 slaves. On 24 Aug 1821 Henry Marshall mortgaged personal property to Samuel, Isaiah Sr, and John T. Johnson. They were to pay unto the heirs of Azariah Bloxom full amount of the rent for the planation whereon he (Henry) now lives being for this present year (Acc Deeds 1821-22, p. 150). Henry Marshall's personal property included: one yoke of oxen and wane and wheels and one pale red yearling heifer in her four years old, one blue safe and one weaving loom and the whole of my crop of this present year consisting of corn fodder peas beans and my brandy. In 1830, Henry was 50-60 (56) and his wife was also 50-60 (56). He had 1 slave. It is assumed by the large number of persons in the household in 1830, that his daughter Elizabeth, who had married Dunreath Knight in 1823, and her family were living with Henry. Dunreath Knight was not listed elsewhere in Acc Co. In 1840, Henry of S. was 60-70 (66) and his wife was also 60-70 (66). He had 2 slaves. There was also a male 20-30 and two females, 20-30 and 30-40. He was declared tax free on 27 May 1844, due to age and infirmity (Acc Orders 1842-45, p. 427). Henry was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Henry Marshall the head of HH#547, a 78 year old farmer with real estate valued at $200. Listed with him were the following Marshalls: Stephen, a 41 year old farmer; Patience, age 35; Parker, age 11; Stephen, age 9; Henry C., age 4; and Danvers J., age 2..² He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.⁵ Henry died circa 1861 at Accomack Co, VA. While no record has been found of his death, he apparently died soon after 1860. His wife predeceased him, for she was not listed in his household in 1850..⁶

Turman's marriage book shows 18 Jul 1795, which may have been the date of the M.L.B..^4,5 Egnasha was named in her mother's will on 17 July 1810 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as a daughter Egnasha Marshall in the will of Betty Chase. Betty left a lot, estimated as 4 acres near Messongo Meeting House to her daughter Egnasha Marshall. She left directions that Henry Marshall shall bury me decently and left him the residue of her estate. On 18 June 1859, Henry Marshall who was a tenent for life, joined his son Stephen and wife Patience, his daughter Ann and husband Francis Boggs, his daughter Rosey and husband Edmond Trader, and his daughter Elizabeth "McKnight" in selling to Marcellus Small the 4 acres, except for a graveyard and right of William Marshall's heirs, near Messongo Bridge that Egnasha Marshall had heired from her mother Betty Chase in 1813 (Acc Deeds 1858-60, p. 258)..² Egnasha died before 1850.³

     According to James H. Marshall of Florham Park, NJ, "The will of Betty Chase (dt. 1813) strongly suggests that this particular Nasha and Robert Chase were her children." Betty was born circa 1740 at Accomack Co, VA. She married William Chase circa 1760.¹ Betty was named in her husband's will on 3 December 1798 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as wife Betty Chase in the will of William Chase..¹ She made a will on 17 July 1810 at Accomack Co, VA.      William was born circa 1740 at Accomack Co, VA. He married Betty (-----) circa 1760.¹ He made a will on 3 December 1798 at Accomack Co, VA. William Marshall, s/o Henry, and his wife Elizabeth joined Rachel Bloxom and Alexander Ling, with his wife Rosanna Ling, in selling property of Richard Bloxom of Edgecombe Co, NC, deceased, on 14 May 1829. The deed states they were Richard Bloxom's heirs-at-law..³ William died in October 1834.⁴ Administration of William's estate was filed on 27 October 1834 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that John P. Drummond was named to settle the estate of William Marshall. John F. Riley & James K. Duncan were securities. On 30 May 1842, Sally Marshall chose Dunreath M. Knight, her uncle by marriage, as her guardian, and he was appointed guardian to Wm, Stephen, Narcissa and Rachel, orphans of William. On 24 Nov 1845, Rachel Marshall, orphan of William, chose Solomon J. Small as guardian, who was also appointed guardian of Wm, Narcissa, Stephen and Sally (Acc Orders 1845-48, p. 55). Dunreath M. Knight's estate was to be administered on the same day (p. 53). According to the Land Causes, Joseph Tunnell died intestate leaving four children: Isaiah Tunnell, Elizabeth Corbin, wife of Robert Corbin, Polly Marshall, wife of Sampson Marshall, and Rosey Tunnell and that Rosey died without issue in 1812. News, 1 Mar 1935). Thomas W. Chase probably only has a footstone reading "T.W.C."      Further proof that Patience Drummond, wife of Stephen Marshall, was the daughter of John Drummond is based on 3 Acc Orders. First, 24 Feb 1851: "It is ordered to be certified that it appears to the satisfactory of the Court that John Drummond, Senr. of Acc Co, VA, who in 1832 made a declaration for a pension died in June 1833, leaving a widow who is now dead, and that Nancy Drummond, Patience Marshall and Sophia White are his only surviving children and heirs at law." Second, 24 Feb 1851: "It is ordered to be certified that it appears to the satisfaction of the Court that James Drummond who was a Lieutenant and died in the Revolutionary War intestate, leaving no children nor descendants of children, but left three brothers and two sisters, viz: John Drummond (his eldest brother) Stephen Drummond, William Drummond, Comfort Drummond and Sophia Drummond his only heirs at law. John Drummond (eldest brother of James) died many years ago intestate, leaving six children, viz: John P. Drummond, Sally Drummond, Tabithae Drummond, Patience Marshall, Nancy Drummond and Sophia White his only children and heirs at law." Third, 26 Jan 1852: "It is ordered to be certified that it appears to the satisfaction of the Court that John Drummond (brother of James Drummond who was reputed to be a Revolutionary Officer) died many years ago, intestate, leaving John P. Drummond, Sally Drummond, Tabitha Drummond, Nancy Drummond, Sophia White and Patience Marshall his only children and heirs at law. Patience was born on 22 July 1814 at Accomack Co, VA.³ Patience was named in her sister's will on 15 August 1834 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as my half sister Patience P. Drummond in the will of Sarah A. Drummond..¹ She married Stephen Marshall, son of Henry Marshall and Egnasha 'Nasha' Chase, on 23 December 1837 at Accomack Co, VA. John P. Mrs. Patience Marshall, widow of Stephen Marshall, aged 78 years, died at her home near Bethel Church of canser on 11 Jan 1893 (Pen. Ent., 4 Feb 1893)..⁷ Her body was interred at Bethel Bapt Ch Cem, Mears, Acc Co, VA.³

     Parker H. Marshall, age 22 and an oysterman, was the head of the 1860 Acc Parish HH#460 with a wife, Comfort, age 22. Parker was born on 5 October 1838 at Cattail, Acc Co, VA.² Parker was listed with his parents in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.      Alexander was born on 28 July 1862 at Accomack Co, VA. He married Mary Anna 'Mamie' Ayres, daughter of James E. Ayres and Margaret Ann Hickman, on 29 May 1887 at Somerset Co, MD.² Alexander was listed as a head of household in the census of 1910 at Metompkin Distrist, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as A.W. Marshall the head of HH#205, a 48 year old house carpenter. Listed with him were the following Marshalls: Mary A., a 40 year old wife who had given birth to 14 children and 9 were living; Buren S., a 21 year old son; Lorenza, a 16 year old son; Alwilda, a 12 year old daughter; Archie H., a 9 year old son; and Nellie M., a 7 year old daughter.³ Alexander was listed with another family in the census of 1930 at Hallwood to Makemie Park, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Alex W. Marshall, a 66 year old general laborer on odd jobs who was rooming in HH#55 headed by John A. Dix, a 52 year old carpenter.⁴ Alexander died on 17 February 1932 at Hallwood, Acc Co, VA, at age 69.⁵ His body was interred at Wessells Cem, Mears, Acc Co, VA. The tombstone book shows he died in 1931..⁶

     Aligier William P. Marshall's obituary stated that he was a highly esteemed gentleman and that he died at his home near Bloxom, Monday, aged 70 years. He was a member of the Bethel Bapt Ch near Bloxom. He was survived by his wife, Julia A. Marshall; two daughters, Mrs. E.H. Hughes of Bloxom and Mrs. Wesley Dryden of Pocomoke, MD; one son, Mr. Dewey Marshall of Hallwood; a sister, Mrs. Arinthia Small of Pocomoke; and a brother, Mr. Kendall Marshall of New Church. Algier was born on 9 February 1865 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Julia Annie Shrieves, daughter of Lewis S. Shrieves, on 22 June 1887 at Mappsville, Acc Co, VA.² Algier died on 4 February 1935 at Bloxom, Acc Co, VA, at age 69.³ His body was interred at Wessells Cem, Mears, Acc Co, VA.³

     Alfred was employed at as a Carpenter/Farmer. Conflicting evidence states that Alfred was born on 2 February 1872.² Alfred was born on 2 February 1873 at Mearsville, Acc Co, VA.¹ He married Minnie Lee Byrd, daughter of Walter Wessells Byrd and Arena Jackson Gladding, on 21 February 1894 at Temperanceville, Acc Co, VA.³ Alfred died on 29 August 1959 at Williamsburg, VA, at age 86.² His body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.⁴

     Mrs. Minnie Byrd Marshall, wife of A.K. Marshall, aged 67 years, died on 24 Sep 1944 at home in New Church. Services were Friday, 29 Sep by Rev. Bryan with interment in Dowing's Cemetery. Survivors were listed (E.S. News, 29 Sep 1944). Conflicting evidence states that Minnie was born on 8 October 1876.² Minnie was born on 13 November 1876 at Mearsville, Acc Co, VA.¹ She married Alfred Kendall 'Ken' Marshall, son of Parker H. Marshall and Comfort Jane Chase, on 21 February 1894 at Temperanceville, Acc Co, VA.³ Minnie died on 24 September 1944 at New Church, Acc Co, VA, at age 67.² Her body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.⁴

     Arinthia was born on 30 July 1867 at Mearsville, Acc Co, VA.¹ She married James Selby 'Tobe' Small, son of Marcellus Small and Sarah Robinson 'Sally' Wessells, on 29 December 1889 at Accomack Co, VA.² Arinthia died on 21 April 1954 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD, at age 86.¹ Her body was interred at Hall's Hill Cem, Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD.¹

     Conflicting evidence states that James was born on 7 November 1867. James was born on 7 November 1868 at Mearsville, Acc Co, VA.² He married Arinthia Jackson Marshall, daughter of Parker H. Marshall and Comfort Jane Chase, on 29 December 1889 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ James died on 19 January 1946 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD, at age 77.² His body was interred at Hall's Hill Cem, Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD.²

     Alwilda was born on 7 September 1876 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She married O. Jennings Poulson on 21 May 1895 at Somerset Co, MD.² Alwilda died on 12 November 1898 at age 22.

     Stephen R. Marshall's 2nd wife Mary, was previously married to a Richardson and was 50 when she married Stephen. Mr. Marshall, now 95, was born at Mearsville, and Mrs. Marshall, now 88, was the former Miss Henreitta T. Bloxom, of Bloxom. They were married at the MD-VA line on 5 Feb 1871 (Pen. Ent., 7 Feb 1941). Capt. Henry Clay Marshall, Pocomoke City, will be 98 years old on 31 Dec 1942 and his brother Capt John W. Marshall of Mearsville, VA, "John Bill" will be 92 years old on 22 Oct 1942. They are the last of 8 children, born Poulson sons of Stephen and Patience Drummond Marshall, who died 51 and 49 years ago respectively (E.S. News, 30 Oct 1942). Capt Henry Clay Marshall, aged 99 years, died at home at Pocomoke on 16 Feb 1944. He would have been 100 years old this year, having become 99 years old on the last day of 1943. Services were on 18 Feb at Dennis Watson Funeral Home, Pocomoke by Rev Ditto, with interment in the Nelson Cemetery. Less than 2 weeks ago, Capt and Mrs. Marshall celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary. They were married at the MD-VA line on 5 Feb 1871. He was survived by his wife, aged 90, and 2 sons and 2 duaghters (E.S. News, 18 Feb 1944). Henry was living in 1944 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD. Henry died on 23 October 1944 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD, at age 98. His body was interred at Nelsons Cem, MD/VA line.⁵
